Mooo Ratings and Reviews
The service was great, the food was pretty good, the prices were astronomical. We shared a very good wedge salad with delicious bacon and a great dressing. My husband had a rib-eye steak that was cooked to perfect temperature and very tender but was under-seasoned. I had the steak frites. The steak portion was similarly under-seasoned but tender and as I ordered. The marrow butter that came with the steaks was delicious. The fries were a major disappointment. For the price, I would expect hand cut fries, not the same frozen fries served by every restaurant on Cape Cod. Yes, they were deliciously dressed up with Parmesan and truffle oil, but they were still straight out of the freezer. The B & B mushrooms were good and the broccoli was delicious. The wine list was pretty good with some interesting choices, but there were very few options under $100. Most were pretty recent vintages and ours could have used a decanter, but it wasn't offered. Overall, while the food was good and our server was fabulous, we just didn't feel that it justified the price.
Dinner was an experience...everything you'd expect from a great high-end steakhouse! We went there to celebrate our anniversary and it did not disapoint. Service was excellent. The food was delicious and cooked to perfection. Wine list was extensive. Beer list was impressive. We ordered the side dish flight which was fantastic. This consisted of small portions of frites, creamed spinach, squash, and mashed potatoes. They offer this in two sizes. The smaller portion was more than enough for two. Don't mess around - order a steak!
We have our Thanksgiving lunch at Mooo this year again. Turkey, sides and apple pie were simply delicious. Service was little jumbling, my husband received a leak soup instead of lobster bisque and than I got a regular coffee instead of decaf. Both were fixed for free. Servers were quite attentive though, they were probably too much occupied although the room was not full at all.
Very classy place. Visited for anniversary while in Boston. Was not disappointed. Service was impeccable. Food was outstanding and atmosphere was welcoming. Be prepared to open your wallet as nothing is cheap but, for a date night or special occasion, this was perfect.
Nothing to write home about!!!!! This Restaurant was somewhat small. We were seated at a small table at first. We asked to be seated at another one. And got another seated at another small table with a big chair. OK, over it!!!! Our waiter was nice. The Steaks weren't really seasoned well. But they give you some side butter that has rosemary, thyme and marrow bone in it that's supposed to enhance your steak. Not. . The sides are great. Well seasoned. Oh I forgot to mention. Only big enough for one person. Sad!!! It was so so. If you are downtown and Ruth Chris doesn't have any seats try Mooo!!
Forgot how amazing food is here.
Steak - perfection.
Bread...blew my mind
Linguini with Clams....amazing
Save room for Sunday...if you're with a group.
Service is perfect. Although restaurant is expensive...from arrival to departure you feel like your business is valued...not like other snooty attitude steak - centric restaurants...Grill 23...Boston Chops.
A quiet business lunch in a beautiful room. Inattentive service, short staffed. Cobb salad with one tomatoe and no cheese. Chicken was inedible and my reply to the perfunctory “how was your meal” was to ask the waiter if he saw all the chicken left in the bowl? He looked puzzled. Forcing me to explain during a business lunch what the problem was. Would a man have been asked? I don’t think so. He walked away and came back announcing he took it off the bill. That really wasn’t my point. I was just looking. For attentive and respectful service. It’s a shame as the room is lovely.
A lunch with a friend at 1:00. Restaurant was empty. 2 servers on duty. Ordered a Bloody Mary which didn't come for 15 minutes and only after reminding the waiter.
Club sandwich came with fries. Fries were the best part. Sandwich consisted of 2 meager slices of chicken, a sliver of the core end of a tomato and( I realized after leaving)NO APPLEWOOD BACON-which the menu touted.
As I was so engrossed with conversing with my friend I didn't bother discussing all with the server. I wonder if the housekeeping staff put our food together! This was a sub par dining experience and I will not be returning. Probably would have had a better club sandwich at The Paramount.
A 5 star restaurant I frequent is Deuxave too bad they don't do lunch. Next time will stick to The Bristol Lounge for luncheon dates.
Steak was with a very peppery taste. Ordered a petite filet not steak au pouvre.
Lobster Mac arrived the pasta was undercooked and the skillet it arrived in was obviously under a broiler as top of it was crunchy... crunchy macaroni is not what we were looking for.
Spent quite a bit of time without a drink. Sitting with glasses empty...
Best part of the experience was the man that was outside, very brisk night for Massachusetts & he made us feel very comfortable. A++ for the valet...
Celebrated my Anniversary at Moo. Food was great. They acknowledged my Anniversary. Was very nice. Service was good. However the hostess place me at a table facing the bar and not in the dining room. Ambiance was terrible and noisy with too much traffic. Many open tables since it was the beginning of the dinner service. Good restaurant for food however the hostess was not in tuned to their customers and requests. The other staff tried hard to be thoughtful which was very appreciated. However the hostess was not thoughtful about my reservation. Felt like since I wasn’t a regular So I didn’t get the same attention as the others. I was the first person in the restaurant with a reservation and waited in the bar for the service to start. Hostess took others to their table and didn’t seat us until I literally stood up and looked her in the eye. Good food and good service from the wait staff. Not so great with the hostess.
a popular hot spot for a Friday night. We had a reso for 9pm, party of 2 and thankfully we did as we saw guests being turned away for not having reso. We enjoyed the dumpling app and ceasar salad, fol'd by sirloin and strip along with mashed and creamed spinach. Delish.
Having visited Boston for a weeks holiday, we wanted to find a good steakhouse. Having tried Ruth Chris the evening before I have to say that there is simply no competition. Mooo is so much better in terms of quality of food, service and ambience. It isn’t necessarily the cheapest place in town but was worth the price. We will definitely visit again in the future. The beef wellington is a definite must.
Valet Parking $18 It is located in a old Mansion and gives you the feeling of same. I went downstairs for the rest rooms and saw what appeared to be a very interesting wine room, that I understand is available for functions up to 50.
The steak, a large Filet Mignon, was excellent and perfectly cooked. The Bib Lettuce Salad was very well done and tasty. Sautéed Spinach was very good. I found the Truffle Parmesan Fries to be so so, mainly because of the julienne cut of the fries (I like larger fries). We did not have dessert. A Macallan 12 on the rocks had barely enough scotch in the glass to cover the first level of ice, let alone the second and was a disappointment. The wine by the glass was an excellent selection and there was a generous pour.
Overall, if I am in the area, I will be back.
This place was wonderful, my husband and I traveled from Texas to Boston to celebrate our anniversary . The service was fantastic from the moment we walked in and our waitress Kathryn was very knowledgable on the menu. Everyone very proffesional. Food was just perfect! We had no time for desert but I'm sure if we had ordered desert it would have been just as good as appetizer and main menu. Price was so good and I truly recomend this restaurant.
I don't usually write reviews, but the service at Moo has been so extraordinary, in an era of generally lackluster service at best, that I felt obliged to applaud this restaurant's efforts. This was the 4th time we've eaten at Moo for brunch with our family and each time we have been so impressed with the way we have been treated by the waitstaff, as well as by the quality and presentation of the food. On this particular time we waited a few minutes for our table to be set, even though we had a reservation. Once seated, I wasn't thrilled with the location (back of the restaurant), but the hostess had said if we wanted to move we'd have to wait for another table to be set. We were hungry and didn't want to wait any longer so decided to stay where we were. Much to our surprise and delight a few moments later a manager (or waiter, not sure which) came over to us and stated that we should follow him. He had set up the booth that we had wanted and insisted that we move there because he wanted us to be totally happy. Wow! That is customer service! We proceeded to enjoy our delicious brunch and know that we will definitely be back. In fact, we'd like to try dinner there some time. I have to say it is because of the excellent customer service that I want to return. There are lots of restaurants that serve great food these days, but it is a rarity to actually experience true customer service. Bravo Moo...we'll be back!!
I chose Mooo for my wife’s birthday dinner based on 5-star Yelp reviews and the Beacon Hill location. My daughter and her husband were joining us and they had been there a few months ago on a business gift card. They raved about it.
It’s fabulous. Easy valet parking, wonderful decor. Friendly staff up front, classy bar, craft cocktails. High-backed padded seats at the table. My wife looked like she was sitting on a throne. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable, well-versed on the specialties. The menus for our table were custom-printed with “Happy Birthday.” This is primarily a steak house, and the steaks are to die for. (Or for the cow to die for.) Varied cuts ranging from $24 to $160. Seriously. Sides are a real treat. Dessert was Bananas Foster (which you don’t see everywhere) with a birthday candle and “Happy Birthday, Mom” written in chocolate drizzle. Very cool.
It’s not cheap, but it’s really special.
Waiter was great. Hosted was terrible, however. After having us sit at the bar, despite an on time arrival, she forgot about us and the maitredee gave our table away. Insane; huge waste of time, and the food wasn’t that great. The best part were the apps and the dessert. The stakes were average.
