Great location and view. The food and appetizers were great! Nice drink service too. Great place to just hang at the bar and have appetizers also.

The food was good but portion size to value was a bit on the high side. Small plates for example, 3 seared scallops were $26. Two crab cakes were $34 and there was no lump meat in the cakes...

We very much enjoyed our dining experience at Moonstone Grill. We booked a weeknight evening reservation for 2 with ease and got the corner table with both seats overlooking the ocean. The view was incredible. We got to see several dolphins or whales spraying over the course of our dinner. Service was attentive but not suffocating. Food was also delicious. This was a great experience during our short trip to California's North Coast.

A memorable meal for all the wrong reasons. Ok, its a view place - so we expected a fab view and passable food at an outrageous price but it was my husbands 60th birthday and we were up for the splurge. We were disappointed in every way, except price. If you want the view sit at the bar for drinks, but do NOT EAT here. Caramelized onion soup should be renamed Unset Seawater Custard, not a hint of onion. Everything else was drowning in a flavorless, gloopy green ocean of sauce, rubberized scallops, undercooked flavorless & truffleless truffle risotto, tough, overcooked & seriously over breaded abalone (over $100), everything under seasoned, poorly prepared, infantile plating - wish I had take a picture; but imagine a large flat bottomed bowl filled to the brim with army green sauce, an island of bland, tooth breaking risotto, rising from the center, topped with a curled up, breaded chew toy: this disastrous creation encircled with alternating red & yellow cherry tomato halves, seven eighths sunken into the algaeic tsunami of sauce. We had worked up an appetite walking all day & been saving our calories for this 'special' meal, so we chewed & chewed & chewed our way through the abalone, some bites with the foot still attached, but all else remained on our plates. It was a meal ender, we wanted to leave ASAP. I left the table to find the server & ask for the bill. We didn't complain, to his credit the server asked about the uneaten plates. I calmly stated the dish didn't belong on the menu. He halfheartedly offered to adjust the bill, but his tone made it sound like such a hardship & imposition. We paid the full bill, which I regret, including an errant bowl of clam chowder & left a 20% cash tip. Seriously, don't eat here, the food is revolting, the view is OK you won't get what you pay for & the staff makes you feel as if an edible meal for $$$ is an imposition. AVOID THIS PLACE !!! Sadly, a birthday meal we will never forget for all the wrong reasons !!!

After being kindly greeted at the door, we were seated in the northwest corner table, with a beautiful view of the seashore, as the day waned. (Definitely ask for this table if available, as it is the most private in the room.) Our server Isabella was very attentive. The potstickers and crab cakes were exactly as we had hoped, ample and tasty. Both glasses of wine were quite fine. The chocolate cheesecake was very creamy, not very cakey, certainly not like the classic, but was good otherwise. A distraction were the flies in the window. (Yes, I know, a restaurant on the shore and all, with an open door...) Prices were very good for the quality and location.

Moonstone Grill was an excellent place to celebrate our 28th anniversary. The Caesar salad was excellent. We tried the pot stickers (new to the menu) and were not disappointed. Flavorful, not-to-spicy spicy sauce was key. The tri tip was light and yummy. The Apple galette was delectable. Would highly recommend this beachside lovely location.
