6-Course Valentine's Day Tasting Menu$155.00 per person
Feb 11 - Feb 14, 2022Join us for our special 6-course Valentine's Day Tasting menu. Tasting Menu: $155 Optional Wine Pairing: $55 Cost does not include tax & gratuity.
Every visit to Mooncusser is a fabulous experience. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable about the wine pairing. It’s a lot of fun to learn about the regions, the grapes and why the wine pairs so well with the course.
Each course is beautifully plated and it’s hard to decide which is the favorite if any meal. Last night the shrimp vermicelli topped the bill!
We eagerly await the new menu each month or so!
Everything was delicious and the service was given with such care, we will return!
had such a lovely dinner! Great little spot and and a great tasting menu!
The food is meticulously prepared, elegant, and very tasty. The reason it's not a 5-star review from me is that the food is also very limited: Mooncusser serves a 4-course prix fixe menu, with two options per course. The dishes fit a *very* narrow profile: Almost everything has a middle eastern spin, with a lot of spiciness (more than half of the dishes were too spicy for me to enjoy, even though they aren't listed as being spicy on the menu) and a lot of heavy/dark flavor profiles. If this is your favorite type of food, you will absolutely love Mooncusser. If this *isn't* your favorite type of food, you may be disappointed. (The menu changes from month to month, and I don't know how strongly they stick to the "spicy, dark, Mediterranean" style of cuisine -- we'll probably give it another try if there is a menu that looks interesting in the future.)
That said -- it wasn't really for me, but it may very well be for you. With every single dish, we said, Wow, this is really prepared wonderfully, before we said, Yeah, this isn't my cup of tea.
The ambiance is quite nice (an elegant, comfortable space on the 3rd floor with windows all around) but gets pretty loud when the restaurant is full. We thought the service was okay but not outstanding -- the staff are very pleasant and friendly, but after our server took our order, we didn't see much of her, with various people dropping off dishes, and an occasional visit to see if we needed a new drink -- but few table checks to see how we were doing or whether there was anything we needed. (That said, we had no trouble at all flagging someone down when we *did* need something.)
What can I say? We had a wonderful meal at Mooncusser - upscale, creative cuisine at its finest. Top notch staff and service. And reasonably priced as well. Even parking was easy...
The food at Mooncusser was creative and overall outstanding. We enjoyed all of the courses very much.
We were so excited to eat Chef Carl Dooley's food again, having been long-time connoisseurs of his food when he was head chef at Table at Season to Taste. The food, waitstaff, wine pairing, and ambience were fantastic! We will definitely be back next month with the new menu!
We tried the entire menu. Each dish was excellent. The colors were dramatic, and the taste was terrific. The service was first rate. The servers explained each dish in detail. One of the best meals I have enjoyed in a Boston restaurant since coming here 50 years ago. Plan to bring my daughter here for her upcoming birthday. It will be a delicious treat for both of us.
Absolutely incredible! Couldn’t have asked for a better experience from the service to the food. Everything exceeded our expectations.
Perfect evening out and incredibly accommodating for food intolerances and sensitivities. Loved the food and the wine pairing was a lot of fun. Definitely a great experience!
Chef Carl and staff are the best. Food and service are of the highest quality.
Spectacular New Year’s Eve six-course menu.! Chef Dooley and the rest of the staff really outdid themselves. Each course was as good as the next.
Positively amazing! We got the 8 course New Years dinner and every dish blew my mind.
One of the best meals that we’ve had. Outstanding service. Overall the best experience that I’ve had. Certainly did not leave hungry. High quality food and a fantastic experience.
Best dining experience in years…every element perfect…menu, chef, food, service, setting, level of care.
Amazing prefix menus that change every month. My wife and I love coming here and sharing our dishes so we can taste everything on the menu. The chef is truly an expert at flavors and textures!
First time at the restaurant. Not disappointed. Creative and innovative chef. Servers were very knowledgeable about both the food and wine
It’s a set menu which is slightly limited. I enjoyed all my courses but I can see it may not be to everyone’s liking because of the limited choices. Definitively will go again
Wow what great a delightful night. The menu was unique and so delicious. Highly recommended.
This is the best food I have ever had in my entire life. I’ve been to other high end restaurants in Boston and they simply don’t match up. The menu is carefully crafted to give each ingredient a purpose. It’s phenomenal. The service was excellent and warm even the chef came out to see us! I thank the entire Mooncusser team for making our day special. It shows that they all love what they do. I did not do the wine parring but my partner did and she highly recommends getting it.
Excellent. Food was superb. Service attentive and impeccable.
In general, the food was good, but I was expecting it to be better at a restaurant like this. After going, I understand the mixed reviews and I honestly don’t think it was worth the money.
I’ve been to other restaurants similar to this and had a better experience at all of them. Some of the food here tasted very average, and with each course, we became less and less impressed.
The starter snacks were really good - blood orange scallops and then a duck liver mousse with cranberries. Best part of the night.
The service is very slow but I really think that’s part of the “allure” of a restaurant like this. All the staff was incredibly nice and knew what they were doing….just slow paced.
Every course was excellent!! The staff are very attentive and I love that the chef comes out and delivers one of the courses himself.
Can't wait to come back!
Terrific food. The salt cod gnocchi and steamed snapper were to die for. When asked in advance, they prepared vegan courses for my wife, which were also excellent.
Not a lot of flavor in the food. Everything was just OK. I expected a better food experience.
This was the best meal we've had in Boston for several years. Incredible tastes and textures, manageable portion size, engaged chef who came to the table. Loved being able to have a conversation in a quieter place. Will definitely return.
The menu was divine and our service was exceptional. Def a perfect place to go for a special night out.
Good food. Good portions. Excellent staff.
Loved it! Dessert was a little slow and the wine pairing came when we we were almost finished but the food was fantastic, will go back for sure
This was the best restaurant I have gone to in recent date. Definitely do it for a special occasion! We did the tasting + wine pairing and it was delicious and beautiful!
Unbelievable price fixe 4-course menu. Very creative and amazing flavors. Excellent
Outstanding Experience. Chef Carl and his team are fantastic, combining amazing, creative food and top shelf service.
Terrific service, outstanding menu selections and wine pairings, and very interesting food.
Carl is a fantastic chef. Very unique and innovative food. Delightful experience.
We went for dinner during out getaway vacation and enjoyed it! We did wine pairing which was superb and service was also great!! Would go back :)
Wonderful choices on their fixed price menu. Highly innovative, with thoughtful wine pairings. Overall, solidly THE best in Boston IMHO.
Great assortment of wine and food. The almond pound cake dessert with persimmon was just perfect as per French standard 😋
Excellent tasting menu, love Chef Carl Dooley. Ravioli was awesome. Will be back!
Fantastic experience. Made a reservation for our next visit before we even paid!
The food was exquisite and the service impeccable.
