We were seated promptly and greeted by our waiter who was very personable. He explained the menu and their dry aging process. We all had steak, except my daughter who had the crab cake appetizer. My son and I split the cowboy ribeye and they brought it already split between two plates which I appreciated. All were delicious and we topped it off by sharing lava cake and raspberry mouse. Of note, the person sitting next to us sent back a burger for “excessive char” and it was handled very professionally and without question. Don’t let the location fool you (its in a strip mall), this is a very good steakhouse.
I usually don’t write bad reviews but I had to On this one. Me and my wife attended the restaurant on Valentines Day, we had reservations for 7:30. Long story short we barely seen our waiter, we sat down at 7:30 and didn’t receive our food until 9:00! When we finally got the food it was NO seasoning on anything! It was quite frankly just terrible.
I mean when you can look up and see the staff eating their food before you get yours think that’s a problem. At first sight entering I mentioned to my wife I think this could be our new restaurant we attend. After this experience I’ll never return and won’t recommend others to either.
This is our second time dining here, the food it's amazing and gets better every time we come.
Fantastic as usual. The food was outstanding, the atmosphere was perfect. Just a very enjoyable evening out with the husband.
Took the wife for the Valentine Dinner. Monty had the Valentine Day Special menu and it was great. Their special occasion themes exceeded our expectation. I would recommend this to anyone who loves steaks and/or fish.
Food was great and worth a visit. Our only gripe was the wait service had a lot to be desired - very slow and disorganized .
This visit to Monty's for a Valentines dinner was not up to their usual quality. We have visited the restaurant several other times and have always been pleased. They usually have great food and very personable service. However, for Valentines Day they had a limited menu for two which seemed a little pricier than their usual fare. While the selections were nice, they were not as good as other times I have visited. This may have been due to being very busy with the lots of couples. We were on the early side of the rush and did receive good, prompt service. Our waiter was attentive and didn't have to wait long for our food or the check. Overall, I would recommend Monty's based on my previous experience, just not for their special events.
I asked for a bottle of wine from the list which they didn’t have; but the waiter brought an alternative bottle. After he opened it I asked if the price was the same and he said no it was $10 more! I asked if he would give me the bottle for the same price and he asked the manager who said no! I was shocked that they gave me a more expensive bottle that I didn’t order and would not find a comparable bottle at the same price! This was deceptive and quite unfair. Will never return! Very poor customer service!
I am never disappointed when I dine at Monty's. The menu has a bit of everything to enjoy and it is all well prepared and delicious. I especially enjoy that sides are served with all entrees. The hamburger is not your average one. It is specially ground on site and is luscious and seasoned beautifully. The french fries will give any French Bistro a run for its money. The service is attentive and helpful. You must introduce yourself to Donna, the owner, she will add graciousness and a warm welcome to your visit.
I had the most wonderful birthday dinner last night with my family. The food was delicious. We can’t wait to dine here again. Monty’s is truly a neighborhood gem.
