In 1974, Papa’ started working in the family business at the age of nine by doing some small jobs with his dad. When Nonno saw Papa’s talent, love, and passion for the job, he gave him the chance to take over the business at the age of 17 in 1982. In the same year, Papa’ met Mamma Sabrina. It didn’t take long for him to fall in love with her. She was a beauty! After a long courtship, Mamma finally fell for him, too. In 1995, they had a son whom they named Enrico Jr. At a young age, he had worked with them in the shop after school. He then decided to move to England and follow his dream of opening a restaurant.

After five years of hard work, Enrico Jr. finally found the right place to fulfil his dream! Papa’ and Mamma decided to sell their business in Rome and come to England to support his dream. This is where the concept of Monti started—a real family-run restaurant, where good food meets good people, and happy memories are made!

As always a very enjoyable experience. So many choices of excellent food and everyone in our party was delighted with their orders. A family run business and refreshing to have warm welcome with excellent service. We had friends join us who had never been before and they were really impressed.

Booked this restaurant from an online search and it lived up to expectations. Pizzas were amazing and the staff were very attentive. Would recommend eating here if you are ever in Southend. It’s a short drive to the cliffs pavilion so you could go before an evening invites show

That was the 4th time we have been , the fourth different dish and each has been delicious! As always , friendly service , large portions We will keep coming back.

We attended the Italian Dining Experience. Good food and good fun, pitched to varying levels of language ability. Excellent presenter. Service was great, attentive but not obtrusive.

We have eaten at Monti’s several times now and always been impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the quality of the food. We will definitely return.

The food is delicious and the choice of dishes is excellent. The wine selection is good and they serve great cocktails.The restaurant has a lovely authentic Italian feel with family photos and memorabilia on the walls. We had a lovely evening.

Monti's has a really extensive menu with lots of choice. Our food was delicious. My husband is Coeliac and was really impressed with the gluten free pizza he ordered. The best he has tasted . Gluten free pasta was also available with any of the sauces. The owners/staff are all lovely and friendly and attentive. Our friends had never been before but say they will definitely visit again. We booked for the weekend but were assured that during the week you wouldn't need to.
