Montgomery Inn- The Boathouse (Priority Seating)
Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.
Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.
Accommodating to our late arrival due to traffic. Great view of the river. Food was fabulous. Would recommend for all occasions.
We only had to wait a few minutes while they got our table ready. Receptionist at front could have been nicer and smile a little
Just Perfect! No wait at all. I had friends from out of town who had never been to The Boathouse. Our seat, as requested, was by the window and our server(Hiko?) was knowledgeable and attentive. Thank you so much, Elizabeth Armentrout
Rude host and hostess. Ribs were dry. Sweet potato was shriveled and dry. Calamari was over fried. Alcolic beveragez were good.
Food and experience were great. Open table was easy to use and I even called to say I was running late and the restaurant said no problem even though they were really busy. They still got me right in to a table.
We had a wonderful, relaxed dinner prior to the start of our conference at Duke Energy. The food was delicous, our waiter was excellent, and he even pointed out a daily special that saved us a few dollars. We very much enjoyed the ambiance and the sauce, ribs and brisket could not be beat. The brisket was super tender. Three of us enjoyed the house brew, too! We walked there and back from Duke Energy Center, which took about 30 minutes but felt good after being in the car for several hours, and after a big meal. It was a great way to kick off our time together as a staff. Highly recommend!
Our food (both the rib entrees and side vegetables) came out cold. They reheated it. My ribs were chewy and dense and no flavor, not at all like they usually are. They are always tender and falling off the bone and flavorful. My husbands ribs were fine. It was disappointing because it is not inexpensive to dine there.
Jennifer was our server and she was fantastic! She actually remembered my twins and I from when we came in back in December for my birthday ! Amazing, made my day !
The original ribs were very good and the meat fell off the bone. The brisket, however, was very dry.
Great food, atmosphere and service!
The ribs are simply the best. Even though it was s very busy day- Mother's Day- our server Shawn was outstanding. The portions are large. We got to enjoy the leftovers the next day!
This is our Mother’s Day tradition...best strawberry shortcake in town!!
Great place to eat. Love the food and the view. Service was excellent. Prices reasonable. Overall one of my favorite places to dine downtown.
The priority seating worked great and we were a few minutes early but still seated. Our waiter was phenomenal and food was awesome. The Boathouse is one of our favorites and we also bring out of town guests here for food and views.
Great as always! Waited no time to be seated thanks to the reservation. Made my wife's and my 17th anniversary all the more enjoyable. Thanks again.
The food is very pricey. Portions are small. I only come here on special occasions.
Our fist trip there and it was wonderful. The view was good the server was very good and kind and friendly.
Although I grew up in Cincinnati, this was my first dining experience at Montgomery Inn; all that wasted time! The food, the service, the view and the experience was perfect. We wouldn’t change a thing. We were celebrating Mother’s Day and my dad’s 80th Birthday and, the memories that were created . . . we will definitely return. Keep up the excellent job!
Great food with a great view
Such a lovely place!
Slightly below normal standards. While we were seated quickly and placed nicely by a window, the overall service this night was not up to standards. While the food was excellent (Calimari, RIbs, Brisket, etc). our server was very inattentive at times. When we had our food packed up, 3 of the party went out to the riverwalk, while two of us waited and waited to pay the check. Always iconic, and worth it still, the Montgomery Inn needs to ensure the service matches their high standards every night, and this night they did not.
It's a Cincinnati institution. Though I do believe the quality of its original ribs has fallen in the past year. I questioned the waitress when I ordered. To her credit, she checked with me after I cut into my ribs. The ends were dry and tough. She insisted on getting me a new rack. The next one was better, but still a little dry on the ends. This was never the case in the past -- and I've been eating here for decades. Disappointing when you're introducing someone to the world famous restaurant.
The food was great as usual! And the view was awesome !! Our server Shawn was great, always keeping our waters/teas filled :) great atmosphere and service !
Amy was AMAZING!! Great service and fantastic food!
Half of our party enjoyed their ribs dinner, but my own brisket dinner was pretty awful. Two big slabs of mostly fat, yuck.
It’s been 20 years since I’ve visited the Boat House and it didn’t disappoint. Celebrating a special person and this was the perfect venue.
I don’t think I have ever been so disappointed in a restaurant that was so highly recommended. Our food was absolutely terrible. I got the shrimp and my husband got the ribs. Both staples at this restaurant and they were both like something from a mediocre chain. There were so many people here and it was super loud, our waiter could barely hear us. The only positive I will say is that the view is nice. Right on the river. But seriously, I do NOT get the hype. We will not be back.
We enjoyed our meal so much Waiter Isaac was excellent. Very attentive
The ribs which is what they are known for were incredible so if you’re a BBQ fan this is the place to go. If you got a seat by the window it was a nice view of outside. The waiter we were seated with was outstanding and very attentive.
We arrived early and our table was ready. My out of town friends were delighted with the restaurant .
Manager and staff were amazing, as are the ribs! We will be back.
The food was incredible and the staff worked very efficiently. Would definitely recommend!
Every time we go Montgomery Inn— the Boathouse, we have a terrible experience. The servers here all are awful, food is always cold, and for how much you pay it just isn’t that great!!
My wife’s ribs had an off taste. My loaded baked potato was fixed, let set so long the cheese set up again. I had the chicken, pork chop comb. Chicken was fall off the bone tender, but no flavor. The “thick cut” pork chop was a mere 1/2” thick and dry. Our 3rd time in 3 years. Hoped it would get better. 3rd time it was terrible. I miss Ted! Waited 40 minutes for priority seating.
We had reservations for 6:30 but waited an hour and a half for a table. Way too crowded there.
The food and service was good. I would definitely come back.
I had put if town guests and we had a table right by the window to see the Ohio River! The ribs and service were outstanding. My friends enjoyed the whole dining experience .
THE BEST! We had our first date, wedding rehearsal dinner and countless anniversary and other special occasion dinners here. Service is A+, Food is A++. This is the place to go for pure awesomeness!
Our reservation was for 5:30. We were seated right away and the service was outstanding.
Seating and service were great, food not so much. Ribs were over cooked and overpriced. You couldn’t include a plate of lettuce with a couple croutons with the meal? No, I had to pay extra for that. Definitely not what it used to be.
