Montgomery Inn- The Boathouse (Priority Seating)
Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.
Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.
Always a great time! Brisket was a tad dry, but ribs and pulled pork were fantastic!
The food was like always very good!!!
The ribs were mediocre quality and overcooked. The onion straws came out cold.
Have been to Montgomery Inn many times over the last few decades. I brought a work visitor from the Philippines this time to share a popular Cincinnati food, and all guests ordered the ribs, but I was really disappointed this time. The ribs were very dried out -- seemed like they had had been cooked with heat from above for way too long as the top was very tough. I didn't say anything to the wait staff.....didn't want things to be uncomfortable during a work dinner....but definitely wasn't up to Montgomery Inn standards.
We were seated promptly and enjoyed everything! Ribs were delicious!
I requested a table near the water for my husbands 50th.... our table couldn’t have been further from
Very disappointed..hostess didn’t seem to care
We had a nice woman wait on us
We always take our out of town clients to Montgomery Inn, it's a Cincinnati Favorite!
We had a reservation, but were handed a beeper and told 15-30 minutes. We were directed to the bar upstairs, which is informal and has the same menu, same prices, same view. No reservation. No waiting.
The ribs were very dry with a LOT of sauce. It was freezing cold in there, so we did not stick around for dessert.
Excellent! ❤️ My friends and I have been several times and keep coming back!
When my sister and brother in law came to visit from South Carolina, it was the first place I wanted to take them!
The beef brisket slider was so dry I couldn't/didn't eat the meat. I discourage any future diners from ordering it.
This app was super easy to use. The restaurant was great and fantastic views of river.
Beautiful restaurant and perfect location. Food was good, ribs could use more meat,
Nice table, good food and great friends make a wonderful evening.
It was fine. It had been recommended to us as we were in town from Oregon, but I don't get the hype. Nice views of the river/waterfront. There's an upper outdoor deck, which we didn't visit - looked nice though.
The ribs were dry and tough and seemed like they’d been warming for a long time. The mac and cheese was made with over-cooked pasta and reminded me of school or hospital food. It’s been about two years since we were last here as a family and will probably be at least two more before the next time. It was too mediocre for $190 for four people.
We have been to the Boathouse many many times and there's always a crowd. We have always used the call ahead priority seating which is a big help. And now, being about to do that online makes it even easier. This particular night, the crowd was somewhat light but it was nice to know we had priority over any of the walk in crowd.
Awesome. We originally requested a table. Went to bar upstairs and the staff was so friendly and kind we decided to eat at the bar. Liv and Stephan are excellent professionals to service your customers. Will be back again and will eat upstairs again. Great atmosphere and fun.
Great food! Great service! Only downfall with reserving on OpenTable is that they did not take our anniversary seating request into consideration.
We sat on the second floor so that we could have the best view possible. It was outstanding!!! The food was amazing and we could not have asked for better service.
Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for fantastic ribs. My date svs i both the rib combos, one with chicken and the other with pork chops. Everything was mouthwatering. Best service that ive had in a long time. Can't wait to go back.
Service was great but the food was disappointing. The brisket was way too fatty and the ribs were sub-par. The best food was the mac and cheese and dessert (profiterole).
Didn't get the table requested by the water but it was great food!
We were there for lunch, a 1:00 reservation. Our waitress, Lyndsey, was very engaging and knowledgable. She was a very gracious lady. We had the Maui chicken salad. It was a delicious, light meal for a hot day.
Service and food excellent. Thank you for an excellent experience for our company President.
Sit outside if you can; you will be more connected to the people on the bike path and the boats/barges on the river. Ribs make this place famous, so pass on the St. Louis style ribs (dry rub) and stick with their original recipe. This place can get crowded, so we went on Tuesday to get that river view table.
Food was ok. Got the Ted platter. The smoked ribs were way over cooked. Brisket was over done as well. Service was adequate but our server was not friendly at all. The view of the river was nice but the food was just average to below average.
My wife and I had the best ribs in town, they fell off the bone... so good!!! Thank you Amy for the great service!!!
Terrific service, terrific cocktails. Wonderful view… The food was good. Not amazing… Definitely a fun place for dinner.
We brought our friends from Florida and Virginia to dinner at the Boat House. They both told us what we already knew. Best ribs ever! Our server, Mackenzie was very efficient and a lot of fun. We will be back.
The server isn’t exactly rude, but doesn’t smile or seem friendly. Like she’s “just there”. The potato soup had some many pieces of I guess bacon fat in it that I just couldn’t eat it. They don’t serve chili on Sundays, so I didn’t order anything else.
Ribs and chips are always solid. Service was satisfactory.
I took my wife for a late dinner after a red game on Saturday and we had a great experience, starting with the valet parking waiting for a few minutes at the bar upstairs.
My wife like ribs, but I am not a ribs eating man, but these ribs are excellent.
We arrived for our reservation at 8pm. We were not seated until almost 9pm.
Our reservation was for 7:30 and we were seated promptly, despite a waiting line. The advanced booking made a difference! The service was excellent. This was our first time in Cincinnati and at the Montgomery Boathouse and the waiter explained the menu, including the portion sizes. The ribs were the best I have ever had! We enjoyed our meal. We were staying downtown and took an Uber to the restaurant, but took the mile long river walk back to our hotel. A beautiful way to end a great restaurant experience!
We got to the restaurant on time for our reservation and we were finally seated more than 30 minutes later. It looked like they just added our name to the list when we arrived because they sat about 8 parties who came in after us first. I don’t think it’s worth making a reservation because they acted like making this reservation but having to wait 30 minutes is a normal occurrence here.
Our waiter was helpful and made good recommendations about entrees and wine pairings.
Did a last minute family dinner. Easy reservation process. Walked right in to oir table. Great view. Great service. Great food. So over all is was..
Boathouse is one of our favorite destinations. We don't get there often but it is always fantastic.
Had a table reserved was seated on a timely manner. Received our appetizers and salad in a timely manner. Our man course never came. 45 minutes later we inquired with the server, who stated he would check on the status of our order. He came back and said there was a mix up in the kitchen and our order was a couple tickets away. Another 25 minutes went by and the server came over and apologized again for the wait, and said they had just started preparing our order. Another 15 mins went by and the sever came by and freshen up our drinks again apologizing for our wait. At this point I ask the server to just bring me a bill for the appetizers, drinks and salads. He said let him check on the order and if it wasn’t ready he would bring the bill I requested. The server didn’t return and about 10 minutes later, someone else brought the food to the table. The server came back offered to buy us desserts, but we were not in the mood for dessert and declined his offer. So overall I had to rate my experience low, I rated the service low, not due to the server but the hour and a half wait between receiving my salad and the main course. I also had to rate the value as low as this was not a $94 dinning experience.
We’ve eaten at the boathouse several time and know this is not typical, but when you drive an hour and fifty minutes to have dinner, you expect a little better experience.
Excellent as always
A bit noisy
