Montgomery Inn- The Boathouse (Downtown)
Sports fans will love the upstairs sports lounge with sports memorabilia on the walls, as well as the autographed photos of famous visitors who have dropped by. So come on in and get yourself some ribs and watch your favorite team in a fun, classy atmosphere.
Our world-famous ribs are definitely a hard act to follow but we found a way. For dessert, indulge in another Cincinnati culinary tradition: Graeter's black raspberry chip ice cream.

Great staple of Cincinnati! Very good food (ribs) and service.
montgomery inn is one of my all time favorite restaurants. it never disappoints!
Ribs and chicken were awesome as usual. Never a disappointment!
My wife's fish one piece was almost unedible just way too dry the onion straw appetizers were lukewarm at best. My ribs were very very good
There was nothing special about the food (I had BBQ ribs & chicken combo). I actually could not understand why people talk so highly about this place. It was extremely noisy. Tables felt too close together. View is good (if you can actually get close to the window). Prices did not match food quality in my opinion. Staff was really too busy to actually take any personal time to attend to our table (which was a party of 8). The worst part, you have to pay $5 for valet or your told to park on the street. I felt forced to pay for parking which shouldn't be the case when you're dropping over $200 on a meal. They could have had separate parking in their lot for customers who didn't wish to pay for valet.
I took my family of 6 to the early afternoon reservation where we were seated and served in an orderly and timely manner treated with courtesy and kindness I will be back many thanks
The food was amazing. The entire way home, we all kept saying how good everything was. We walked along the river a bit before dinner, and then got drinks out on the balcony. It was a beautiful evening.
Unfortunately, It didn’t live up to the hype. We were expecting some really great food. Calamari was over cooked, borderline burnt. Salmon portion was very small, but very good. Chips & onion straws were very very salty. Ribs were good but not amazing. Brisket was good, have had better. The service was excellent. The location is nice & the restaurant is very big. We would go again but it wouldn’t be a first choice.
Always good no matter which location you choose. I normally go with the ribs, but this time had the swordfish which was the special. Great meal was had by all. Hard to go wrong. Had dinner here before going to a concert. Good food and a convent location makes for a winning combination.
We've always enjoyed going to Montgomery Inn. Their ribs are amazing and my favorite appetizer are the saratoga chips with bbq sauce. Our waiter was great and attentive.
Food was underwhelming and service was very slow. Disappointed in the experience because the view is AMAZING.
I was disappointed in the ribs. They were over-cooked and not as tender as I've enjoyed at Montgomery Inn in the past. The service was just "OK" as well. This has always been one of my favorite restaurants, but, may be awhile before I give it another shot.
This is my son's favorite restaurant and we went with out of town guests for his birthday. It was great. We are always happy when we choose this restaurant - either location.
We are from Georgia and when we visit Cincinnati this is a must come too every time when we are in town . Great food friendly atmosphere all around great place
We were only in Cincinnati for one night and a friend recommended your restaurant. The issues we had were the ribs were warm not hot like food should be served. I asked for my ribs to be charred and lighted sauced, not charred or lightly sauced.. I would of thought charging $29.00 each for a slab of ribs they would have been outstanding. They were tender and practically falling of the bone.
We were starving and didn't want to wait so we ate half of our ribs and left. If I return I would try again but make a point how I like my ribs.
Ribs and service were great, my GF got the pork chop that was dry and over cooked. Meal was comped but still expected more for the prices.
Food was good are waiter kyle was great however there waiting to get seated even though you made reservations sucked your time is not important to them
My Boyfriend and I had a wonderful experience at the boathouse. We spent the night in cincy for his Birthday. It was our 1st time visiting Montgomery Inn. The food, atmosphere, and serive was amazing. We had a nice view of the river. The Ribs and sauce was delicious. The brisket was a little tough but full of flavor. We will definitely visit again!
Such a beautiful site! We are from Chicago and have never been disappointed when we are in Cincy! Everyone had ribs and chicken except me. I had the California salmon and highly recommend it!
I hate to say this but I have been going to Montgomery Inn in Montgomery and Boathouse for years and this special occasion (Wife’s Birthday) was the worst service and food (cold) that we have experienced. I thought maybe the waitress was overwhelmed however I know they train their staff very well. It will be awhile before we return.
If you like your ribs falling off the bone then this is your place. I like mine with a little bite but they were tasty. It’s a great view of the river.
Excellent restaurant. One of Cincinnati’s finest! Fantastic wait staff! Excellent food and drink!
Great views of the Ohio River at night. Delicious food. Great service. Used Open Table App to book our reservations with no problems. Ample parking.
My wife and I attended following a sporting event and this was the place for a good celebratory dinner. The fans of the losing team even enjoyed licking their wounds over some amazing bbq. Ron, our server, was amazing and never let my glass get half empty. Our food was warm, fresh, and falling off the bones good! Whether you're out for an afternoon lunch or a night on the town, if you want some superb bbq, this is the place to be!
6 of us went for my Mom and Dad's 40th anniversary and had a wonderful time. We were a bit worried about wait times because the Bengals were playing in town earlier that day, but we were seated immediately. Our waitress continually checked if we needed anything in an unobtrusive way. The food was hot and delicious across the board - everything from the spring chicken to the ribs to the hamburger our party ordered.
Great view, good ambiance, and consistently prepared food. Service was efficient and overall the experience was enjoyable considering this is a high volume, high turnover establishment.
we enjoyed the food here and had a great experience. The noise level was high as there were several big parties going on and the service was exceptional. We will be back and we will recommend this to others.
Always a great experience at the Boathouse. Terrific food, excellent service, great views and a great value. The Original Ribs cannot be beat....
Made a reservation on Open Table and when we arrived we were told that they don’t have “reservations” it’s merely priority seating. We had to wait 45 minutes.
Best ribs in the entire country! Love this place! Drove from Chicago just to eat here again! Definitely worth the 6 hour drive.
Our waiter was outstanding. Everything was perfect. We must go to The Boat House more often.
Probably the best ribs and brisket I ever had. Falls right off the bone.
This was our first time eating at Montgomery Inn, and overall it was a very good experience. Our server was extremely good, and we loved the view of the river. We will definitely be returning to The Boathouse.
A fun beautiful evening! Raspberry chocolate chip ice cream was the best. Great place to celebrate any occasion
My family was in from the United States and I wanted to show them something that was special in Cincinnati and of course this fit the requirement. It was very enjoyable
Great food with wonderful service . Our waitress was very attentive and helpful
The ribs as expected were excellent. Other diners found the pulled chicken dry. The waiter was excellent and attentive. The seating was right by the window overlooking the river even though I forgot to request it. It was a birthday and the setting did make it special along with the service.
When we arrived they were not aware of our outside seating request, despite that I made request during reservation. Service was initially slow as took at least 10 minutes for someone to acknowledge us. Once the server began she was friendly and efficient, attentive to us. Food was only fair as the Brisket was rather fatty, the Brussel spouts were amazing! My husband said ribs were average, yet my mom’s brisket sandwich was tasty and not fatty. Maybe that’s the way to order it!
Is great to be on river as atmosphere is very nice!
I have been going to Montgomery Inn Cincinnati since it was a little tiny place on Reading Road and watched it grow into the fabulous restaurants that are now in Cincinnati. the food is excellent, the ribs are to die for, and the service was very good!
The Boathouse was our destination after a walk along The Banks and crossing The Purple People Bridge. A wonderful day and so enjoyed our meal looking at the river and people walking by. Our wait staff was very attentive and we cleaned our plates the food was so good!
