Overpriced, had Better food for much less. Just nothing special about the restaurant , service and atmosphere. We were hoping for something more elegant judging by the prices.
With such a vast collection of Italian restaurants in NYC, I see no reason to come back to this one.
Got there early one Friday evening, warmly welcomed, quiet small dining room, properly sized table. Every course outstanding, from appetizer and main to dessert and coffee. A friendly, comfortable neighborhood Italian gem tucked away on 56th Street just east of Park. Not flashy, staff appropriately attentive. Looking forward to returning.
Very consistent, wonderful and professional service. Great old world Italian menu with variations on favorite regional dishes.
Food and service is always great. Staff & chef are very accommodating and friendly.
Great food. Excellent service.
Loved this restaurant. It is perfect for a peaceful evening. Good solid food and a charming staff. Their wine recommendations were delicious. We went two nights in a row
The food was well above average. The seating was conducive to having a business conversation. The service was helpful and attentive.
Good service. Food was just fair. Wouldn’t rush back.
Well prepared traditional dishes. Excellent service
I reserved a table for two on February 14th Valentine's Day and had dinner there. I have not received my 100 points for doing so.
Food was great as well as the service. The restaurant was very accommodating to my son.
Service was extremely slow for a weekday lunch. The food was decent but I will not put this restaurant on my list of places to return to. Dined with a friend and we took our desserts to go (cheesecake and flan). We both took one bite of each and immediately threw them in the trash.
Dish portions are very generous. I had the mussels marinara as appetizer and it tasted so good! It tells a lot that a restaurant can serve seafood with freshness and great taste in a single dish.
Salmon as main course was satisfactory, not great, and the chocolate mousse cake was very moist and not overly sweet. I finished the entire slice of cake. We both left stuffed!
we had a lovely meal and friendly service my food allergies were easily accommodated
Food was no better than any neighborhood Italian. Service was indifferent. This was a restaurant week lunch; it seemed that the restaurant was not interested in encouraging further business. Will not return.
I've been to this restaurant twice before, both times the food was excellent. This time not so much. The food was edible, but I expected more. Portions skimpy, presentation sloppy. Maybe an off night. They're weren't at all busy. I think they could have made a better effort.
Had a fabulous time. Picked this restaurant as part of restaurant week. The interior is very pretty and quiet. Food was great. Service was excellent. My wife and I plan to return often
Very disappointing experience, poor service, to the point that the brought our entrees before the appetizers.. Food is mediocre, perhaps they w ere overwhelmed by restaurant week. Not worth a retry.
Been dining at this fine restaurant for 26 years and never a complaint. Fine creative recipes which can satisfy the most criticalt gourmand.
Great restaurant food as good as ever will be coming back
Excellent food at a reasonable price. VERY FRIENDLY STAFF. Always a warm welcome.
Very very good meal, atmosphere and service. Will certainly go back.
Delightful night with friends, the risotto fungi was yummy
I love eating here. Wonderful fish dishes, good salads, old world service and quiet for conversation.
Very, very old decoration. Food is ok. Don’t spend your time and money there.
We were having a very nice evening and remarked to one another how the ambiance was so nice. Unfortunately, shortly there after, there was a drunken couple near us who were arguing loudly and profanely. So sad.
They ruined the otherwise quit and romantic room.
I do wish the restaurant had asked them to leave. But understand this may have made matters worse.
The food was good but the restaurant only had a few other couples eating there. A quiet dining experience.
This is authentic Italian food in a refined setting. It is possible to conduct a quiet conversation while enjoying good food. I recommend the lobster ravioli.
When you walk in you think great quiet restaurant in a quiet street but 85/ noisy when ther are 3 or more tables filled. Food is Average and overpriced for what it is.
Make sure to ask for the price fixed menu.
Been here a few times. This is the first time Salmon did not taste fresh.
Good place- but in NYC one OK meal and I am tempted to try a new place.
Come on Monteb...get with it.
Excellent food - great quality. Will definitely return!
Good food, great service.
As always, a wonderful dining experience! Every mouthful a delight. Impeccable service with warm, caring staff. Joe Bozic is the perfect host and it always feels like I'm coming home. Bravi!
Always a very fine dinning experience. Have been going there since 1991
This was my first visit. Good experience. Food very good. Had the calf's liver and it was perfect. Excellent service. Will definitely be back.
It was disappointing that the restaurant was so empty, but NYC in August is like that. However, I would go back there.
Well executed classic Italian fare. Solid service and nicely priced. The decor is a little tired and the chair seats could use a cushion...hard and somewhat uncomfortable
It was a value because it was Restaurant Week lunch.
The restaurant is past its prime
We were seated at a lovely booth- very cozy and romantic. The waitstaff was very attentive and the food was so delicious. It was a perfect evening.
Fabulous food, great service, ice quiet table. Definitely a find!
