We went to celebrate my birthday and had an incredible meal. The 21 day aged steak and roasted salmon were delicious, the Brussels sprouts may have actually been our favorite part, and we were blown away by the soft serve ice cream trio. Our server, Bobby, was wonderful.
The food was amazing, the service was great. Loved it!
Not bad to loud though
Great young crowd , night club atmosphere.
Peking duck was dry and fried ice was starchy.
Go for the bar scene.
Good atmosphere. Loud .food not as described on menu. My duck was chewy
The experience at Monsoon was fair but the food was not good. The food was not as tasty as expected and overpriced for the type of quality given. Would most likely not come back but the service and ambiance were nice.
Service was very attentive. Overall a good time and good food.
our dinning experience was very good from the dumplings to the Peking duck..The thing that we would like to say is that the duck would be better thinner cut . The seafood rice was good too. Our server Eric was very good and the manager Kayla came by to see that all was good.
Weak drink selection for beer and sake. Unprofessional service for something pretending to be a high end restaurant . The food was bland especially for ‘pan asian’ . Would not return even if someone else was paying the bill. Adios
There were 8 of us there for my birthday. The food was excellent and the wait staff were helpful and apologetic . The problem was that the food did not come out of the kitchen. We had to wait for each course to come and were there for almost 3 hours.
Food and drinks were great and we had a very attentive waitress. The section we were placed was a bit noisy but not enough to be overly distracting.
The food and service at Monsoon are always excellent. Nice atmosphere and we never feel that we’re being rushed.
Monsoon is one of my favorite restaurants. I have never been disappointed. The atmosphere is elegant, but relaxing and the menu is outstanding. I've eaten there often and I've never had anything that was less than superb. The serving staff is fantastic - they never intrude, but they always seem to be there when you need them.
As usual, both the food and service were excellent. The only negative was the noise level.
The seating for diners is in a loud cafeteria like room with metal chairs and tables. Absolutely no decor! The lovely room shown on their website is for the bar only. It’s a shock to walk through this area and into the dining area. The noise level is very very loud. Servers walk back and forth through the middle of the dining room in an endless stream which makes noise level higher. On top of all of this, our appetizer took so very long to appear. After another hour we left the restaurant. Our main course was never served. Steak was our order. This is a steak and sushi place! Throughout the long wait we were not offered another drink or even an apology. Completely ruined our anniversary dinner.
Half hour between courses.
Food was good but not worth the wait .
Over priced not worth $210 .
Never go back again.
Where to begin. Well the heat was apparently broken so they sat everyone in the same room which was ok However it was freezing in the place. I wish they would have let us know. My girlfriend was wearing a little black dress and was literally shivering and had to eat cold food with her winter jacket on. The wine tap apparently wasn’t working either they informed me after I ordered wine. They offered to open a bottle- gee thanks- but then charged me for that bottles glass price. The waitstaff was definitely hustling and working hard - I give them credit. However it was a waste of a night out going here. Very disappointed.
I have zero complaints. Everything was fantastic. My boyfriend and I were celebrating Valentine’s Day and they made us feel so special.
I called from Maryland to make reservations for my mother and her friend to celebrate her 70th Birthday. The staff went out of their way to make it special and accommodate me paying for the meal out of state. When you say awesome customer service you must be talking about Monsoon!!!
Some of the best sushi I’ve had in a while. Lychee martinis were amazing. And the red velvet/cheesecake ice cream was superb. Can’t recommend enough.
Food delicious, service was great. A bit loud in the area we sat, unfortunately very loud, rude diners came when we were halfway through our meal. The room was lovely and I have dined in there before but it’s close quarters and the people were quite drunk and obnoxious!
Over priced, presentation was sloppy, sauces everywhere and to sweet. The sushi was room temp and when i didnt eat it no one asked why. Servers took to long to check so my guest was done before they came over anyway. Left hungry and def not happy.
Had a reservation for 7pm on a Friday night and was seated right away. The food and service was great. The price is a little high. I will come back.
Expensive, but good food and service. Nice variety of options. Shared menu items, so need similar tastes.
We were greeted by a very nice and professional hostess, I thought the night was going to be fun. Then we were brought into the room and seated at a table that was clearly going to be uncomfortable so we asked for one of the other many open tables that were available. Right away I got a bad vibe.
The room was lit up like a diner. Didn’t care to eat like that during a late night intimate dinner with friends. It seemed sloppy and not appetizing. The carpets looked old and worn. Our meals were fine, we were all quite happy with our selections, but I truly love to have dinner in a place with ambience. It makes your dish and your cocktails seem friendly and age appropriate. We had loud me cursing behind us and we all seemed stuffed into this very bright, uncomfortable room, although there were a enough tables that were empty.. The restaurant isn’t very old but already looks shabby. I only went once before, when they first opened and vowed I would never return, but my girlfriend insisted we try again. Won’t be talked into that place again.
To end with, our friends and I were having a well, over due conversation about all that had gone on since Christmas. We were rudely interrupted to hand over the soy sauce and other bottles of sauces on the table because they made it quite clear it was time for us to leave. I apologize to the staff for having them wait for us and a few other tables not leaving as quickly as they had hoped. I wish management would check on that place once in a while because it is nearby.
Monsoon never disappoints for a fun vibe and delicious food. I've dined here twice in the last month.
The first time I started with a Babylon Express and then shared The Sampler for Two, which was delicious, some sushi and then finished with the tempura fried oreos (a must have).
The second time I started with a Jalapeno Margarita and then shared the rock shrimp tempura, the Shaking Beef, Kung Pao Monkfish, the seafood fried rice and the mushrooms. All delicious. Of course had to end with the fried oreos again.
I'll be back soon!
We ordered appetizers, salad, sushi and an entree. We got our appetizers, and while we were eating them, the salad and sushi was placed on the table. About 10 minutes later the steak and French fries were placed on the end of the table. Essentially al the food was brought out within 20 minutes of each other. For the price, I would not expect all courses to be sitting on the table at the same time. Did not make for an enjoyable meal.
I don’t think we will be returning
Food was delicious steak was cooked perfectly and the dessert brownie sundae was great. Our waitress Alexa was great as well attentive but not overbearing.
Fun restaurant , great food and service !
First time there. Fantastic experience! Food was delicious. Service was great!
My fiance and I went to Monsoon during restaurant week because we really wanted to try out the restaurant. We were disappointed with the quality of the food but even more upset about the service. I ordered the wine pairing and did not receive the wine with each meal. I had to remind the waitress with each course that I ordered the wine pairing. We also had to ask for utensils for both our main course and our dessert. We understood that it was restaurant week and they were probably busy but we definitely felt ignored. It was unfortunate because we were definitely looking forward to trying Monsoon with hopes of returning but definitely not after this experience.
Fabulous food and service! Great night out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The food was certainly not worth the price at this restaurant. Service was fair, felt a little rushed and the seating was very very close even though the couple we were seated near asked to move to a larger space but were denied.
Staff and management were very nice. Food was great as usual.
Trendy, urban urban setting; unique, delicious food and excellent service made for an enjoyable evening. Friendly, professional staff. We were seated in the lower center section, where the lighting was almost cafeteria-like but recommend this restaurant hands down over Salt & Barrel in Bayshore. We'll be back.
I've been to Monsoon numerous times and never had a bad meal.
Best dessert I've ever had. Fried Oreos with a spicy chocolate sauce to dip. OMG. What's better than that?!
The food is always delicious there. Never had a bad experience at Monsoon.
We visited Monsoon for Restaurant Week. Great options for the Price Fix menu at $28.95. For $40, there was a wine pairing for each course. Also they have a sushi menu, with great variety of choices.
