Great ambiance. Loved the burger and the soju!
Love this place, the ambience, creative seating, rustic decor. The food was really good, the octopus was one of the best octopus I tried, also I recommend taking the wings they amazing. Next time I’m returning when they playing jazz, came on Wednesday so didn’t get to see that.
Amazing place. We are here at least 1x week!!! The staff and manager are so nice! Love the wings
Food and drinks were great! The hostess was hardly paying attention to the waitlist and didn’t seat us for over an hour even though she had told us 30 minutes to wait. We kept trying to get her attention and when we would ask her questions would get distracted and not come back to give us any answers.
Great food, amazing ambience and patient waiters. We were the tough crowd.
Terrible service overall- took well over 29 minutes to get drinks and we had to get our own cutlery as that wasn’t in the table when we were seated. Food was ok, nothing to rave about at all. Getting the servers attention was frustrating and hard, the table next to us had to get up to get their own water and cutlery too. Wouldn’t recommend or return unless they overhaul and properly staff.
I brought my friends to have dinner all together however they were not even able to get our orders at the same time.
Overall great vibe and decor. Service could be better. Drinks took forever to come.
The decor is absolutely superb - the place has a very original and lovely vibe. Great for a date or dinner where you can actually have a conversation. Food was good for most part, but the soft shell crab was a bit disappointing. We had 5 dishes in total and the other 4 were lovely. I’d definitely recommend this place and plan to be back
The food and atmosphere of this restaurant are phenomenal- however, it took us over 40 min to all receive our drinks and we were all given the wrong drink. Additionally the waiter was inattentive and forgot about multiple dishes we ordered. However- the ambience and food make this restaurant worth the visit.
The place was very empty yet hard to get the servers attention.
The chips and ice cream is great
Great food and atmosphere.
Food was incredible. Every dish we got was great. Love the design too, felt like I walked inside of a giant tree and was transported. Really cool. Tasty food.
Music was a little loud, wish it was a little quieter to make it easier to talk.
Amazing foods and great service. Should went Quince aged whiskey.
It was good but too loud for a date
My girlfriend and I decided on Mono&Mono for a date night this past weekend. We’d been here twice already and it has been a favorite of ours. The ambiance is lively and the restaurant well-designed. This time we sat at a small side table in a pseudo-booth next to the large wall of records on the left of the restaurant. We ordered the soju sangria pitcher to start as well as the wings—they are not to be missed! For our main course we split the special (braised pork belly served with banchans) and the soft-shell crab. Both were fantastic dishes and well proportioned. Our server took great care in presenting and describing each one, and was very helpful while we deliberated on drinks. We ended up striking up a fun conversation about the kimchi served with the pork later on in the meal too!
Overall, great atmosphere, friendly and efficient service, and wonderful food. This would a great restaurant for groups or date nights alike.
outstanding service and creative dishes, not to mention its special decorations. could be the next insta famous spot in nyc
We were blown away from the moment we stepped into the restaurant. The food was exquisite, and prepared perfectly. The service was efficient and friendly. This will be a regular go-to when we’re in NYC, and I will recommend it to everyone. Simply fantastic!
Food was awesome, service mediocre to below average. Would come here if you are in zero rush and with no expectations of someone “taking care” of you
If your going there don’t expect normal Asian food. Comes with a twist, tapas style portions. But the food is amazing. They love cash he sent why they only accept Amex as a card option. Well worth going
This is a great place for jazz enthusiasts. The whole place is jazz themed. I don't know if they sometimes feature live music, but they've got awesome jazz tracks on constant shuffle. The sound quality is superb. The jazz theme is supported through the decor which features a wall of LPs and a clothesline of LPs that are in constant motion circling the ceiling. A very relaxing chill environment.
Besides that, the food was very tasty. I'd call it Korean comfort food. Thick crispy chicken wings, batter fried, and crackling with a honeyed spicy coating. Tangy spare ribs with plenty of meat that just falls off the bone. All are supported by relatively odd sides (optional) like potato wedges and Mexican corn.
My party went for any early-ish dinner, about 5:30, so the place was mostly empty, so it's hard to describe the noise level. The music, however, was front and center within the space -- not so loud as to compete with it, but if you're not a jazz enthusiast, you may not necessarily be entirely comfortable dining there.
Several items were amazing (shishitos, corn, Monomono salad, burger), but the prawn entree was ice cold. It almost seemed as if we were served frozen shrimp that had just been thawed. Also, appetizers and one main course arrived before the first drinks. When we started being served our entrees while still awaiting our drinks, we were told it would be another 10 minutes. When our drinks finally arrived, more than 3/4 of the glass was a large ice cube, leaving very little room for the long-awaited cocktail. Service seemed off kilter.
Space/ambience was great.
The interior is magical. There’s jazz playing selected from thousands of records that line one wall. The food and drinks are innovative (and delicious) takes on Korean flavors.
This was AMAZING! Beautiful decor, amazing food.
Monomono was gorgeous inside. Beautiful layout, the ambiance was nice. But the food was overpriced and not very flavorful. The bread on the burger was hard and stale, and they were out of both the octopus and the fried chicken.
Overall, the price of the final bill didn't accurately reflect the experience. I would recommend Monomono for drinks, but not food.
Great interior and good food! Nice hang out spot with friends
Fantastic experience, great food, lovely ambiance, the wings were outstanding and the cucumber salad surprisingly delicious. Everything was great and the place itself is a gem. We will be back!!
Food was quite good, BUT...look out for the dishonesty on the bill you’ll receive. Shady that they charge gratuity on the taxed amount when everyone knows it must be on the amount before tax. It’s principle, don’t try to cheat your guests.
Also...only cash or AMEX? Won’t be returning. Servers were friendly, but not attentive—not penalizing in start rating for that though. Just the tip thing.
I was really excited about dining here because I've walked by multiple times and thought it looked so cute. So I made a reservation after checking out the menu online, but when I sat down and opened up the menu it said that they only take cash or American Express cards, neither of which I or my friend had. So I got up and left - I'm not going to pay for an ATM fee. You should put this disclaimer on your website so that people don't make a reservation and then come all the way to your restaurant just to come to that realization when they're already hungry and in a time crunch. Also, why accept the one credit card that no one seems to have? Seems like you'd be losing out on a lot of potential business.
The vibe is perfect! The drink is good. Again the vibe is more than perfect! So perfect that it makes up the loss of the food taste for being a little bit overpriced.
Went for happy hour and it was awesome. The only thing that was disappointing was the lack of payment options.
Excellent food and great atmosphere. Seemed a bit short-staffed, and the music could be lower volume.
Went on a Tuesday so it was kinda of quiet. But still had a great time
Our food hadn't come yet for one hour, just because the staff forgot to put our order to the kitchen list.
Most importantly: the food was great!
Second: the soju-based cocktails were as delicious as they were artfully presented.
Third: the setting is super cool. The restaurant is beautifully art designed.
Fourth: the servers were all very friendly and responsive.
I'll come back for sure.
The one strike against is that they only take AMEX or cash... Why? Who carries either one of those?
great food! lovely atmosphere, the restaurant is very unassuming from the outside but large and has great food
Food was great. The only problem was the service. We were a party of 5 and they brought two entrees out 20 minutes before the rest of the people, so by the time everyone’s food arrived the food was cold.
Dinner was about 2 hours because of how long we waited for food to come out. Each dish came out separately with was disappointing. The setting was beautiful. Drinks looked nice but werent too good.
Quite and chilling
