Great dinner on the patio. Reservations are a must - they’re very busy.
Monocacy Crossing Restaurant in Urbana, Maryland is consistently excellent with the lunch and dinner menus, service and atmosphere. This restaurant is highly recommended for an enjoyable get together and special occasion.
We have dined here for 17 years. We never got our dinner after an hour wait so we got the check and left. You can't afford to lose customers like us. Never again.
Lawson was professional, attentive and so friendly with a big smile. Food was awesome as always! Outdoor dining is so nice there.
Kelly mad additional accommodations to fit another person in on our party. She went above and beyond the call of duty. We had Becca as our service who was excellent. She gives proper timing from drinks to appetizers to main course entrees. Becca serves with a smile great personality and helps with menu items. This is my fave place. Thank you
Once again we had a wonderful meal here. The service is always good and everyone is so friendly. My husband had the hanger steak and it was so tender that he didn’t need a steak knife. Don’t forget dessert. The coconut cake is the best.
Food was excellent and enjoyed sitting on the patio. Would definitely come back!
Two words.....totally awesome. Sunday brunch at this place was so beyond expectations. Just moved to the Frederick area from Washington, D.C. This place would blow anything in DuPont or 14th street out of the water in regards to food, ambiance, and service. 10$ off wine bottles on Sundays...FYI. Ask for Cheryl, best service we had in years, plus she’s a dynamo with suggestions with a welcoming demeanor that we have been lacking in our dining experiences for some time. Totally recommend the crap dip with pita. Waffles to die for. Cocktails on point! Kudos crossing.....now we must come for dinner!
Loved everything but the noise level! Food and service was super!
Always an amazing meal at MC. The cinnamon buns were awesome as was the rest of the meal. Servers were also great! A great place to reenter society.
Excellent Sunday Brunch outdoors for the two of us. Food was excellent, drinks were well made. Service by Emma exceeded expectations.
Monocacy Crossing is outstanding. They have gotten bigger, more comfortable tables and chairs for outside dining with umbrellas. There are a number of small dish/appetizers to try such as the chicken empanada (a little spicy), a Reuben eggroll, deconstructed ahi tuna appetizer, and roasted romaine Caesar salad. In fact, I just did appetizers for dinner and shared some with my husband.
My favorite entrée is the pork with sage and apple cider and scalloped potatoes. The steaks have always been good.
As usual, the food and service were fantastic. I have yet to find something I have not liked at Monocacy Crossing. As I learned this last time, if you’ve never had the coconut poundcake… get the coconut poundcake. Phenomenal!
The food was delicious and the service and atmosphere was exceptional!
I am a regular customer at Monocacy and always enjoy the dinners. The staff members are very friendly and accommodating. I especially like the outdoor seating in the spring, summer and fall.
Outdoor dining on deck, great staff, menu had many choices to choose from.
Loved it as always!!!
Delicious food. Delicious drinks. Great service. Great atmosphere. As always.
We’ve been wanting to try this since seeing a mention in Only In Your State. Then came COVID-19 and I was reluctant to take my elderly parents. So glad we finally made the trip (from Baltimore). They were very busy but service was friendly and prompt. We had drink specials and they were both very tasty-I love a good fruit crush and the Man Crush, made with Jim Beam Orange instead of orange vodka was delicious! It was hard to choose among the dinner offerings, but the BBQ Shrimp with Pimento Cheese Grits was perfect-those grits!!! My husband had the Wahoo special and loved every bite. Although it was a little bit of a drive, the experience was well worth it. Will definitely return.
My favorite free restaurant in Frederick county. Never had even a small compliant. Amazing hidden gem.
As always, Monocacy Crossing, provided excellent food and amazing service.
Would not sit at the hop top tables near the bar again. Was a bit loud from the bar. There were 3 guys sitting near us at the bar that was using foul language. That was nor pleasant since I was having dinner with my daughter.
Food and atmosphere are always excellent! We love the friendly staff and great outdoor patio area.
Their menu is a bit limited although everyone found something they liked. Limiting the menu allows the chef to concentrate on the quality of the meal being prepared and this certainly was evident as the entrees we ordered were excellent.
We eat here at least 1 time per week and all of the food is wonderful!
Well thought-out dinner menu offered a diverse selection of appetizers, salads, entrees, and desserts that could be presented on two sides of a single sheet of paper. The two of us picked one of each category and shared them, splitting a small opening plate of artichoke hearts imbedded in sweet beignets, a green salad with shrimp added, and a 12 oz NY Strip steak that was plenty for both of us. Everything was flavorful, served freshly prepared, and delivered to the table efficiently, in sequence, with no fuss. A comfortable, welcoming, local place.
Monocacy Crossing is my go to for ambiance, great food and excellent pleasant service!!
Always a please. quality food with wonderful flavor and helpful staff!
What could be better?
Amazing as always! Single best bite in Frederick in the deviled eggs!
The section we were seated in was about half full but it was about 10 minutes before serer asked us if we would like something to drink. Food was mediocre. I ordered the seared tuna and it was more like medium well done - disappointing. My wife had the hanger steak with shoestring fries. The fries tasted like something out of a can. If they were homemade the completely missed the mark.
The food was fabulous! Our server Seth was wonderful and very attentive. It was the best birthday I have had in years.
By far my favorite restaurant! The service is always top notch, the food Is without a doubt the best in Frederick! I know going there it will always be a good experience and excellent food! Always look forward to the new menus!
The food was outstanding. One of the best steaks I have ever had! Great atmosphere and wait staff.
Service and food were very good, we will be back
We were seated in the back room and the service wasn't quite as on point as it usually is. The quiche one guest ordered was burned and we weren't able to tell anyone until the rest of us had pretty much finished our lunches. By then it was too late for her to order something else. The crab dip and duck nachos were outstanding. I've eaten there several times before and the service wasn't quite what we've seen before, but the rest of our meals - the pork tenderloin and tuna with wasabi mayo - were good. I'm assuming this was just a one-off on the service.
Just an overall excellent experience at Sunday brunch. Everything including the chicken and waffles, quiche, omelette, and salads were freshly prepared and tasty. Coffee was excellent. Service was top notch. Ambiance perfect. Highly recommend.
Great food, excellent service, and very good value!
Each of our beef dishes were all undercooked. We asked for medium-well to medium. We got rare! We told our waitress. She adjusted the bill. Service not as attentive as we like. Ambiance not the best on porch. Would have much preferred outside patio dining. Not available. Was one of my favs. I’ll think twice about going back.
We kicked off our celebration of our 29th anniversary with Monocacy Crossings brunch, it was delicious. It was a great recommendation from friends!
First time in Frederick, found this place on Open Table & it did not disappoint. The crispy deviled eggs with crab featured a huge chunk of crab on top. Spouse really enjoyed the pork tenderloin and scalloped potatoes. The shrimp & scallop over papardelle pasta was definitely fresh, the sauce was very tasty and I appreciated that there was a generous portion of both the seafoods. Just a bit down the road from our hotel, but well worth going off the beaten path in a new town.
