A great meal in a comfortable setting. Recommend the short ribs and shrimp & scallops.
I hardly ever write reviews, but I have to now. My wife and I were looking forward to our first time eating at Monocacy Crossing, but it was a let-down. The food was gourmet and decent depth of flavor and presentation, but the service was terrible. After our food was brought out, we were never checked on. We paid with a $50 gift certificate, which was not picked up for 10 minutes even though our server was in the area and saw us put the payment in the folder. She continued to replace table cloths on some of the tables around us and seemingly prepare for a "shift change". Our bill was finally picked up, which was $49.04, but then the server came back and said, "Your gift card covered your bill" and then walked away. She did not offer to give us the card back with remaining money or say have a nice day. The light above us was flickering on and off the entire time as well. I am not a picky person but Monocacy Crossing did not live up to the reputation that my parent's gave it.
We have been going to Monocacy Crossing for years. The food is always good, the menu offers many options and there are always good specials. We especially enjoy sitting outside in the spring, summer and early fall. The employees are outstanding: friendly and provide excellent service.
Great Sunday brunch at reasonable prices with $10 off bottles of wine and champagne. Great outdoor patio seating in the warmer months. Good service. Will definitely return.
The food service was very slow during this experience. We waited over 40 minutes for our food. The food was good, but took a long time.
I had the special filet with crab cake. the crab cake had way too much filler, and the filet was not firm like it should be.
There were 4 of us. 3 of the dinners were excellent. I had the sea bass. A bit slimy and was sick the next day. I should not have eaten it but didn’t think I would get bad food there. First time in twenty years.
Excellent food, service and experience at Monocacy Crossing. Scallops and shrimp with risotto was amazing as was the grilled hearts of romaine salad. The pork loin was also delicious.
Excellent service and the food never disappoints !
Very careful with my gluten free entree options.
What a pleasure to find this spot. Good, comforting food without being fussy. We ordered 3 different appetizers and three different entrees, each was delicious, simple and perfect for a rainy evening. I also love that the wine is 10 bucks off if you get the bottle.
This was our second time taking our family there and both times we had a wonderful time.
As always the service and meals ,
Drinks , everything was fantastic !
This was our second time here. I was hesitant to go because of the pricing. The staff and food is awesome. They are way overpriced for the amount of food you get. I had the crab cakes which taste wise were incredible, they were how ever very small (medium). For the price I paid I would have expected much larger crab cakes. Our waitress was awesome and very knowledgeable. My friend had a shrimp dish that was also expensive and the amount of shrimp was laughable. I do like the atmosphere and service but it seems like that is what you pay for there, not the food. I will not go back unless they adjust their prices or serving size.
Food was fabulous along with the service. Looking forward to our return.
We were a party of 11 and it seemed everyone's salmon was a bit under cooked. However it was delicious. One of the pregnant ladies sent hers back for the babies health in eating undercook fish. We all thought that if salmon is being served it should be ask how you would like it prepared. But overall everything was outstanding!!!
Early dinner after seeing a choral performance in the area. Our second visit to Monocacy Crossing. My wife enjoyed her beef medallions and especially her lemon drop martini. I had the crab cake special. Will come back for a third visit soon.
Great food and service
Great experience! We haven’t been here in years and decided to come back in. We had unbelievable service and the food was so delicious. It was super cozy and had a great vibe! We’ll be back soon.
We went to Monocacy Crossing to celebrate my wife’s birthday. It was our first time at the restaurant. The food was very good and the service was excellent. We enjoyed our visit. I thought it was a very good value. We will be back.
Food was wonderful. Perfect in every way. Service was impeccable. My only complaint was the noise level. Bar was crowded & very noisy. Acoustics in the restaurant was poor. Was hard to hear your friends at the table.
Always great service and food. Love sitting by the fireplace/stove in the cold weather.
There is a wide variety of excellently prepared food and the service was excellent. One of our party is allergic to gluten and the staff made sure all the needs were met for the meal
It was a nice friend gathering for first experience. Very cozy
Great meal and staff
The service was not great. We hardly saw our table attendant all evening and she only refilled out water once at the end of the meal. The food was very good but the room was way too noisy.
Wonderful food and service. It’s one of our go to restaurants for everyday and special occasions.
Never disappoints. Great food. Quaint setting. Good specials.
As first-time visitors, we were very impressed with the variety and uniqueness of menu options and the quality of food preparation. We thoroughly enjoyed the deviled eggs appetizer and the special fish offering: wolf fish from Iceland served in a phyllo dough, birds nest-type coating on a bed of delicious rice along with fresh green beans. The service was friendly and efficient. It's worth noting that wine bottles are $10 off all day on Sunday and, I believe, Thursday. If there was anything I would suggest is to amp up the decor a bit (e.g., recessed lighting, artwork, etc.) to enhance the ambiance of the dining room to match the elevated cuisine. We will return!
Great place for Sunday brunch. Good food and, service and atmosphere
Great food and local neighborhood place for dinner. Great priced bottles of wine! Staff are terrific.
Delicious food, warm and inviting atmosphere, and great service. Would absolutely recommend and already planning our dinner back.
Great resturant for meeting friends and catching up.
They supersized the Quiche form previous visits and its not nearly as good. Still one of our favporite restaurants and we will be back again and again.
The food was excellent!! The waitress recommended items. Great place to go!!
I somehow keep trying this place to see if it has gotten better and every time we eat here I leave disappointed. This time the service was terrible. We sat with empty water and soda glasses on a Wednesday night. I don’t understand why this restaurant gets such high marks, we’ve given it 4 tries and it’s mediocre at best.
Excellent selection of beers & wines, starters, entrees, desserts. Excellent preparation & presentation. Very happy with experience & value.
Six of us, neighbors and friends, had lunch to spend some special time with a friend who is moving. We server was attentive but we were never rushed. The specials were explained well. There were many choices and the food was well prepared and was delicious. We had a great time in a warm and welcoming setting. I will return and the others said they would also. Highly recommended restaurant.
We had reservations and our table was not ready. We chose a table in the bar area and decided to stay and have dinner there. It was amazing. A little loud but definitely doable.
Consistently delicious with a broad menu that is fit for foodies and good 'ole fashion meat & potato lovers alike!
