I'ave been here several times and the food is delicious. The noise level was a bit high and the service was a little slow but we were not in a hurry. I would definitely recommend this nice restaurant to a friend.
Every meal we have had at Monocacy Crossing has been great. We are regulars because of the excellent food, service, and ambiance.
Over all the service was excellent the food was outstanding they need to keep the chef working with them at all times excellent, thats all I can say.👌🤗
This is one of our favorite places! We like the varied and often unusual menu items, from snacks and appetizers through the main dishes. I stay with my traditional comfort foods, and she tries new things that are always a hit. We brought my parents, who liked it so much they brought us back for Sunday brunch two days later.
We were celebrating our first anniversary and we were given a quiet table as requested. Our waitress was extremely helpful in assisting us through the menu selections. The food arrived very timely and was delicious as usual, from the tomato and prosciutto salad to the shrimp and scallops entree and the beef medallions ordered by my husband. When it was time for dessert we were hesitating as we were pretty full at that point but our waitress noted that since it was our anniversary we were entitled to a complimentary puff pastry dessert. It was delicious, perfect for sharing and hit the spot.
This is one of my favorite places for special occasion dining and looking forward to the next visit!
Great service and delicious food
Super strong drinks!!
We always enjoy the food there. It is consistently excellent. The building has been spruced up since we were there the last time. I wish that is were closer to where we live - 40 miles away.
Disappointing..food was over salted and over cooked. Appetizer of deviled eggs was very good as were the desserts. Not a good value. Bar area is extremely loud. Service was good.
Another great meal and great service at the best restaurant in Frederick. I would like to suggest that a new handcrafted cocktail be added to the menu. “Katie’s Stoli Cosmo” is too good to be kept to myself! Definitely going back for more 🍸🍸🍸
Always enjoy Monocacy Crossing. One of our favorite places
The patio was nice and relaxing. We had a great family lunch.
If you are in the Washington DC area, love great food with excellent service you must go to Monocacy Crossing. The Chef and Staff are always in top form. Consistently excellent. 6 Stars. 😃
Always lovely. Thank you
My family agreed that this one of our best meals in recent memory. We all enjoyed our selections tremendously. It had been a while since we had been to Monocacy Crossing. Food and service were outstanding.
Monocacy is a cute place with outdoor seating. Food was excellent and wine prices quite reasonable.
Thank goodness the decor has changed! It now reflects the outstanding food!
Say on the patio and had a lovely dinner. They were very busy but we still had attentive & friendly service. Food was very good!
Great as always. We've stopped to eat here after golf for at least 10 years.
Also, and exceptionally thoughtful wine list.
Great food. Great staff! Definitely adding to our shortlist of restaurants in the area. Quaint little spot with lots of charm.
Have always enjoyed Monocacy Crossing. However, on this Friday evening, the food was all very salty and the wait staff very unattentive. It was at least 20 minutes after our food arrived that we could finally get the attention of our waitress to let her know some of the food was too salty to eat. She said that was the chef's way of cooking. Never have I been here that I had to return food, but tonight we all did. Even the appetizer bacon, which was said to be sweet, was too peopery and salty to finish. I'll be back again since I really enjoy this restaurant, but will be on guard.
This restaurant serves delicious food at reasonable prices. The service was excellent!
The special tuna tartar appetizer and seared tuna entree were amazing!
This has become one of our "go to" spots when we want to have a really nice dinner. This place is just amazing in all aspects of the words Fine Dining.
Service and food is always great. A bit pricey or would go more often.
The ambience of a country inn and great food is worth the drive. Really great brunch with attention to details.
We drove by this place dozens of times and it was packed each and every time. Finally checked it out and weren’t disappointed. Food was fantastic. Server was great. Definitely will be eating there again.
THe restaurant renovated their bar area and it is really nice. 200% bigger and much more comfortable.
Planned my mother's birthday celebration for 5. Table was ready, they allowed me to decorate the table for her and with my advanced request they even have her a birthday dessert!! My mom LOVES this restaurant, so this just showed me why!! Thank you all for everything!!!!
This restaurant has a beautiful location down a winding road. The interior is simple and informal; however the menu is quite metropolitan, varied, and interesting. We all enjoyed our delicious fried deviled eggs appetizer and our various entrees (buttermilk chicken and one of the specials: seared tuna). Great prices too. Wonderful value for a great evening. We will definitely return when the opportunity arises.
Nice meal and nice service
Enjoyed our dinner very much. Service was excellent. A little loud, but whatever. Highly recommend, reservations are a must
My daughter and I ate at Monocacy a few years ago, and my wife and I just returned this week. The food was absolutely outstanding on both occasions - some of the best food I have ever enjoyed. The waitress could not have been nicer, and offered a great suggestion for our appetizer - their deviled eggs with crab. The prices are extremely reasonable; my wife expected our bill to be more than it actually was.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better restaurant in the area. We most certainly will be returning !
Delicious, interesting food at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent!
First visit to Monocacy Crossing and can't wait to return! The food was outstanding, we had the maple salmon and the cajun shrimp for entrees. The cajun shrimp was my favorite, it came with potatoes mixed with bacon and a side of asparagus. For an appetizer, we had steak with a swiss fondue, the steak was melt in your mouth tender and the swiss fondue was so flavorful. This is a small appetizer but would order again. For dessert, we had their signature dessert, coconut pound cake a la mode, it the cake was moist and delicious. The vanilla ice cream was a perfect compliment to the cake. Service was A+, can't wait to return!
Excellent accommodating service! I made a special dietary request that was graciously accepted and acted upon.
We had dinner with a reservation at 5:00. I arrived a bit early and when the young bartender ask what I would like to drink I said a Manhattan. His face went stark, but with hesitation he calmly walked over and ask the owner how to make one. She was very kind and gave him the details, asking me what Bourbon I prefered and on the rocks or up. The drink was very good and I let him know, in fact ordered a second with my dinner. When the other party arrived we were seated in a smaller dining room that faces the road and had the place to ourselves. The waitress was great, explained the items and specials and allowed my dining partner to try a couple of wines before choosing. The food was outstanding, very well cooked. One of us had the pork tenderloin and the other the beef medallions wrapped in bacon. Tender and delicious. As we ate, more and more people started to come in and the noise level did get a bit high for a small area. All in all a very nice place, very plain from the outside, understated from the inside, but very good food!
Food is always good. Server was great. Like that we can sit outside or in (and can choose the table). Appreciated the free dessert for our anniversary.
Delicious food at a more than reasonable price for a delightful lunch with friends. Friendly quick service, but not intrusive. Lovely.
We’ve been coming there on special occasions for many years
Food is still good just not as good
Portions changed and the charred romaine salad was disappointing
Almost no grilled taste
My soda was flat -
I’d strongly suggest a chocolate moose as a desert item
My wife saw nothing to enjoy as s desert and it was our anniversary
After dinner we left and went to duchess daughter to have desert
We still really do love your great restaurant but this experience was not rated as high as those in the past
Keep up the great work
All the best!

My husband and I took a friend to dinner at Monocacy Crossing before her move out-of-town. It was a beautiful evening and we sat out on the patio. The server was attentive and pleasant. The food was well prepared, well presented, and delicious. The halibut, an evening special, was wonderful. We were not rushed at all and could enjoy the patio and conversation with our friend. We highly recommend Monocacy Crossing and will return.
