We drove by this place dozens of times and it was packed each and every time. Finally checked it out and weren’t disappointed. Food was fantastic. Server was great. Definitely will be eating there again.
Planned my mother's birthday celebration for 5. Table was ready, they allowed me to decorate the table for her and with my advanced request they even have her a birthday dessert!! My mom LOVES this restaurant, so this just showed me why!! Thank you all for everything!!!!
This restaurant has a beautiful location down a winding road. The interior is simple and informal; however the menu is quite metropolitan, varied, and interesting. We all enjoyed our delicious fried deviled eggs appetizer and our various entrees (buttermilk chicken and one of the specials: seared tuna). Great prices too. Wonderful value for a great evening. We will definitely return when the opportunity arises.
Nice meal and nice service
Enjoyed our dinner very much. Service was excellent. A little loud, but whatever. Highly recommend, reservations are a must
My daughter and I ate at Monocacy a few years ago, and my wife and I just returned this week. The food was absolutely outstanding on both occasions - some of the best food I have ever enjoyed. The waitress could not have been nicer, and offered a great suggestion for our appetizer - their deviled eggs with crab. The prices are extremely reasonable; my wife expected our bill to be more than it actually was.
I think you would be hard pressed to find a better restaurant in the area. We most certainly will be returning !
Delicious, interesting food at a very reasonable price. Service was excellent!
First visit to Monocacy Crossing and can't wait to return! The food was outstanding, we had the maple salmon and the cajun shrimp for entrees. The cajun shrimp was my favorite, it came with potatoes mixed with bacon and a side of asparagus. For an appetizer, we had steak with a swiss fondue, the steak was melt in your mouth tender and the swiss fondue was so flavorful. This is a small appetizer but would order again. For dessert, we had their signature dessert, coconut pound cake a la mode, it the cake was moist and delicious. The vanilla ice cream was a perfect compliment to the cake. Service was A+, can't wait to return!
Excellent accommodating service! I made a special dietary request that was graciously accepted and acted upon.
We had dinner with a reservation at 5:00. I arrived a bit early and when the young bartender ask what I would like to drink I said a Manhattan. His face went stark, but with hesitation he calmly walked over and ask the owner how to make one. She was very kind and gave him the details, asking me what Bourbon I prefered and on the rocks or up. The drink was very good and I let him know, in fact ordered a second with my dinner. When the other party arrived we were seated in a smaller dining room that faces the road and had the place to ourselves. The waitress was great, explained the items and specials and allowed my dining partner to try a couple of wines before choosing. The food was outstanding, very well cooked. One of us had the pork tenderloin and the other the beef medallions wrapped in bacon. Tender and delicious. As we ate, more and more people started to come in and the noise level did get a bit high for a small area. All in all a very nice place, very plain from the outside, understated from the inside, but very good food!
Food is always good. Server was great. Like that we can sit outside or in (and can choose the table). Appreciated the free dessert for our anniversary.
Delicious food at a more than reasonable price for a delightful lunch with friends. Friendly quick service, but not intrusive. Lovely.
We’ve been coming there on special occasions for many years
Food is still good just not as good
Portions changed and the charred romaine salad was disappointing
Almost no grilled taste
My soda was flat -
I’d strongly suggest a chocolate moose as a desert item
My wife saw nothing to enjoy as s desert and it was our anniversary
After dinner we left and went to duchess daughter to have desert
We still really do love your great restaurant but this experience was not rated as high as those in the past
Keep up the great work
All the best!

My husband and I took a friend to dinner at Monocacy Crossing before her move out-of-town. It was a beautiful evening and we sat out on the patio. The server was attentive and pleasant. The food was well prepared, well presented, and delicious. The halibut, an evening special, was wonderful. We were not rushed at all and could enjoy the patio and conversation with our friend. We highly recommend Monocacy Crossing and will return.
Been going to Monocacy Crossing for many years, and I love menu, the patio and the new bar. Regrettably, the main dining room is getting run down and, frankly, a little dirty. They need to hire a decorator and a cleaning crew. A few pictures on the walls would help the ambiance considerably, as would a trip with a vacuum. And, somebody, please clean the door to the kitchen.
Cute place. My fish was over cooked even though I specifically asked for it to be rare. It was actually dry and tasteless. I should have sent it back but it took so long to get in the first place and everyone else in my group was already eating. My husband’s steak was also overdone. It was medium well and he ordered it rare. The others at our table got fried chicken and a pasta dish. Their dinners were fine.
Also my husband ordered a hard cider. When he ordered a second one he was told they didn’t have any more. This was at 6:00 pm. The restaurant opened at 5:00 pm.
We ate on the patio which allowed for energetic conversation with friends and a fun time. Excellent food with wait staff willing to help! Definitely put this on your list for excellent food and great time!!
This was a birthday celebration, but you would never know it. A member of our party informed the waitress. However, nothing happened. The food was just so so. Which was surprising because we had been here before and enjoyed it. The waitress was not very informative. In fact, when we asked questions, or wanted something (more wine, bread, etc.) she was annoyed and you can definitely tell that she was bothered by the requests. She never came by and asked how everything was. She got our coffee orders and disappeared. We thought she was on a break. Finally, we saw a woman holding the dessert tray and asked about them. We gave her our order. However, when the dessert came, our coffees and teas were cold. Very disappointing.
Your bacon cheeseburger was outstanding with more french fries done the way I like them . We had the back room all to ourselves for a very enjoyable lunch .... Thanks
Outstanding selection of entries and appetizers. Service staff was great. I really enjoyed myself and will come again.
The service was great although the business was fairly brisk. We had one request which was not available to be accepted. I ordered the eggs , biscuit, and potatoes with the bacon sauce on the side. I asked Cheryl if a different sauce was available such as a hollandaise but she stated it was not available. It seems to me that an additional sauce should have been considered since there may have been other people such as myself who does not eat bacon. The meal I had without any sauce was dry but otherwise all right.
Excellent as always, a great little neighborhood gem.
Perfect place for our reunion of old friends! Very pleasant surroundings coupled with friendly, attentive, and unobtrusive service. We lingered an unreasonably long time after lunch but felt no pressure to "move along" and no difficulty at all about separate checks.
I found the sauce on my scallop entree a bit over salted, but that's a matter of taste. My more enduring memory of the dish will be that the scallops themselves were plump, delicious, and cooked to perfection.
In the past I've thoroughly enjoyed the quiche of the day, which is served with an exceptionally good salad.
I wish Monocracy Crossing were open for lunch on Mondays, but everyone--even chefs--is entitled to a day off!
Everything was well done and they were very careful to accommodate any special requests. Everyone was very smart about the food and the wines - with a very nice wine list. Recently remodeled to enlarge the bar, the dining room is a quieter space that works well for the great dining experience we had. Also - they have a nice selection of wine by the glass.
Do not pass up the Artichoke Beignets. They were exceptional - and enough for three or four to share as a starter.
Love this restaurant ! Food is always delicious.
Service was amazing and the food outstanding. There were four of us and we all ordered different entrees, including salad and dessert. Everything was perfect. Can't wait to come back.
Service by Dustin was poor. Did not review specials for the evening, did not offer bread, did not refill water and overall was inattentive. Dustin cut my wife off when ordering her dinner before she ordered her main course. Our filets (both) were undercooked with cold Center’s for steaks that were ordered medium. We sent the main course back assuming our order would be replaced and found that the chef tried to salvage the meat by reheating. We spoke to woman who served as maitre’d and settled our bill for drinks, appetizer, and salad and left after almost two hours.
love eating their always a great time they give us our favorite table.
The food was delicious! We really enjoyed sitting out on the patio and our server was great.
The dessert was fantastic!!!!! I loved the turtle chocolate cake. Highlight of my evening. I loved the menu and my husband an I were excited to try this restaurant for our anniversary. The crab dip was okay for the appetizer. Our meals sounded so good in the description but they literally had no seasoning.... just blah. Nothing exciting. They looked fantastic plated but when you took that first taste you weren’t wowed!!! I was hoping the seafood pasta would of had flavor. The waiter was friendly and the hostess was welcoming right when we walked in so that definitely is always a plus at any restaurant. I really, really wanted this to be a 5 star ⭐️ but it just wasn’t there for me. Maybe an off night.
I've been going to Monocacy Crossing for years so I took a client who has high expectations. We both loved the time we spent at MC and the food is always outstanding. The renovations of the restaurant are fabulous and bring a new ambiance to the event. We sat on the patio for our meal and that just adds a little more specialness to the meeting. I would go again anytime and take the most casual guest or the most demanding. Service is a notch above and the atmosphere is friendly yet very professional. If you've never been, you're missing out.
Very enjoyable meal. I think my preferred experience here would be to have some appetizers and drinks and sit outside. Very nice staff and food was quite good.
Bacon wrapped filet was served with raw bacon, duck nachos had an overpowering weird smoke taste.
We had the nicest, honest waitress. She thought we didn’t realize gratuity was already included and came back to let us know. So rare these days! Food and service, fantastic! Highly recommended!
The food, service and ambiance was excellent.
Delicious! Service was delightful and accommodating. We will return!
Lunch was great. We ordered the scallops dish and the pastrami sandwich which did not disappoint. The coffee was also excellent. Our server was very personable and the atmosphere was relaxing.
Monocacy Crossing (MC) is our go-to restaurant for great food, good wine, relaxation, conversation and enjoyment. We consider MC to be the consistently best restaurant in Frederick County.
