The food was amazing!
The best meal we ever had!
We always have a great time! Excellent meal!
So happy to see the Mustard Encrusted Salmon back on the menu. It was every bit as good as I remembered.
Favorite place. Best balance of food, value and feeling welcome
Although we arrived very early for our reservation, we were seated quickly - the service all evening was attentive without hovering.
After a generous glass of wine, we ordered starters and dinners: the duck nachos, from the menu, arrived as a mountain of chips with the expected melted cheese and a good number of duck pieces interspersed; the cassoulet, that night's special, was very flavorful, with a good blend of meats and sausage among the white beans.
My companion's salad with grilled shrimps got a good report, and my short ribs (another special) proved tender and delicious. Served on a bed of mashed potatoes and accompanied by green beans - it was a dinner suitable for a quiet celebration, accompanied by a very nice glass of shiraz.
We did not want to over-do, so we did not sample the dessert tray that evening. Maybe next time - and there will be a next time.
Went there for a Sunday Brunch with two other couples. The restaurant was not crowded so conversation was easy. The food was excellent and reasonably priced. Two people had the egg salad BLTS and said they were delicious. Two people had the salmon and really liked it. One person had the omelet and said it was one of the best. I had the fried chicken and waffles and they were delicious.
We have been to this restaurant several times over the years and it has never failed to impress!
Out with spouse for dinner. Excellent service and food! Short Ribs special was amazing! Nice portion and very full of flavor. Amy enjoined her short rib/pulled pork (?) burger and delicious fries! Just one wish was that there was Pinot Grigio available by the glass. Excellent evening at MC!
Our first time but not last. Very good! Everyone staff member we interacted with was very friendly and polite. Everything we ate was fresh, delicious and perfectly prepared.
Great choice for my birthday dinner. I've been wanting to check it out for a while and it was great. My wife has food sensitivities and our waitress worked HARD to accommodate them. Other reviews said the interior was in need of updating, but I disagree. It was very comfortable, clean, no mustiness, etc. Very cozy, airy, clean, low noise level, high quality linens and table settings, food was delicious! Definitely will return.
More than a place for good food. Staff makes an effort to get to know you and you feel like you are a valued customer.
Awesome as usual. Excited to go back! Will continue to make this a place we share with friends who come into town.
Usually food & service is fantastic. Server this visit was not up to their usual standards. Very slow, rushed away without getting all orders for drinks & coffee, & leaving dishes on the table for a while before clearing. Hope she improves!!!
This is a wonderful restaurant, great atmosphere, food and service a perfect 10!!!
First time visiting Monocacy Crossing, and was pleasantly surprised. Our server, Rob, was knowledgeable, friendly, and didn't rush us through dinner. My husband and I shared the crab dip which was warm and tasty, and both of us got the caesar salad which was nicely seasoned. I got the gnocchi with sweat potatoes and kale (absolutely wonderful), and my hubby got the strip steak and truffle fries. Dessert was grasshopper cheesecake and apple crumble, and be wary of the drinks - they are heavy handed on the alcohol (not a bad thing). We will definitely be back!
We always love Monocacy Crossing and it did not let us down this time. My husband had a favorite, the beef medallions, which he said was excellent and I tried the sirloin salad, which was also excellent—both of us felt our steaks were cooked exactly to our order. Also, the service was top notch.
Service was terrific. Everyone was very attentive to the table. The menu has a great selection. The food was interesting if not outstanding. The interior could use some sprucing up. We'll be back to try more options!
Food and service excellent.
Our family visited Monicacy Crossing for a birthday celebration. We had a wonderful evening. We were greeted warmly, the service was excellent, and the food varied and delicious. We will return.
Always delicious !
We just had wine and ordered small plates. The pork shanks and deviled eggs were delicious.
We had a great time. The service was excellent and the food was good. It's always a pleasure to dine at Monocacy Crossing. We've never had a bad time or reason to not come back.
The atmosphere was nice, wine was good. Calamari wasn't the greatest, the breading was so so and the sauce was a bit too savory for me. The Korean beef app was good, moist, flavorful. The salad (garden I think) I had was good and was big enough to split with someone. I had the lamb shank which fell off the bone. It was flavorful and the sweet mashed potatoes were good. Everything was very salty however and we should not have gotten two appetizers for sure! So if you like comfort foot and can tolerate a bit more salt in your food, then this is your place. Just make sure you eat light for the day to save room for the meal.
Casual feel, yes but with nice touches....and the food has always been great every time we have visited 5-6 times.
Just a bit uncomfortable because party of two were (not rowdy) very loud. Server did everything she could to speed them on with grace, but it did not work. They were having too much fun I guess. NOT the restaurants fault, dining room does not have much in the way of noise absorbing surfaces like most places.
We should have accepted the servers offer of moving us to a different table.
We have been going to MC for many, many, many years and I always say the same thing: the interior detracts from the excellent food, wine list and service. Seriously: an overhead light should be replaced by recessed overhead lighting. That paneling with stenciling might have nouveau in the 60's but nice painted drywall would be delightful. Bite the bullet (or a wonderful lamb shank) and shut down for one week, gut that front room and recreate a room that reflects your cooking and staff. It doesn't have to be elaborate and over the top; simple would be fine, but please update. It is very offputting.
We have eaten here before...a few years ago and as I recall the meals were good. This time we ordered the New York Strip and Beef Medallions. The New York Strip was not tender with tracings of grissel through out. The Beef Medallions were ordered medium and arrived medium rare. We had to switch entres since my wife likes her food medium. The New York Strip was hard for her to chew.
The room we were in, toward the front of the restaurant, was dated for the amount the meals cost. Big black air conditioner cord going up the wall and ceiling lights that looked like 1950's. Restaurant needs a rehab if prices are going to stay where they are.
Don't think we would go back. Steaks are better at Longhorn or Texas Roadhouse
The food and service are wonderful. We were able to enjoy a conversation with friends and an excellent meal.
Amazing apps of duck nachos, crab dip, and awesome crispy deviled eggs. We all ordered different meals of omelettes, or waffles, or poached eggs and everyone was very happy. The service was excellent and the portions very large. Cookie sandwiches were a hit.
Fine food and excellent service in this surprisingly roomy restaurant. Well worth the visit.
Food was delicious! Presentation was great, knowledgeable staff. Can’t wait to go back!
Went for a birthday brunch celebration and was not disappointed. There were numerous food selections. We all ordered something different and everything was very good. Although not on the menu, there are a few choices for kids. They brought a puff pastry filled with homemade ice cream and drizzled with sauce for the birthday with a candle. Overall a great time and will be back.
The food and service were outstanding. We were seating shortly after arrival and our drinks arrived soon after ordering. Delicious appetizer followed by a wonderful meal and ample portions. Free desert for our anniversary!
Looking for great food in an interesting atmosphere? Look. No. More.
Tired of cookie-cutter chains? Look. No. More.
This. Is. It!
As always, Monocacy Crossing was great - the food, Service, value. One of our favorites.
Always appreciate the specials. Our waitress, Rose, was a delight.
This was our third time having dinner at Monocacy Crossing. Both of our entrees were delicious. I had cioppino and I honestly could not believe how sweet and clearly fresh all of the seafood in the dish was. My husband had steak, which was cooked perfectly to his order. Our waitress was totally on top of a dietary restriction of mine. So much so that she caught me as I was about to take a bite of something I shouldn’t have from my husband’s plate! We did have two complaints. One was the noise. We dined on a Saturday evening and it was so loud when we sat down that we had a difficult time hearing each other across the table. Secondly, my husband ordered a Manhattan to drink and we were shocked when we received the check to find he was charged $17 for his cocktail! That price seemed absurd to us. Nonetheless, we will definitely be back.
This was our first time at this restaurant and we just loved it. Food was delicious with a great selection to choose from. The service was great and we all loved each of our dinners. Definitely looking forward to going back with our friends.
We had a birthday celebration with some surprise guests and the wait staff went well above and beyond the call of duty to help make this happen. Everyone loved their food selection. I had the jerked salmon and it was outstanding. Highly recommend!
Our waitress (Erin) was exceptional and knew the menu well to make suggestions. Make your reservation soon!
