CLOSED: July 4th & September 3
Always have great service and better food at Monocacy Crossing. It may not look great on the outside but the food is fabulous.
Lovely meal again
Becca was a fantastic, personable and attentive server. She had solid recommendations which did not fail us. We had an excellent meal except the hush puppies did not provide the heat it promised. Duck nachos were very good, though I think a different cheese would be better suited. Burger was amazing and the wagyu flank steak was cooked to perfection.
Excellent service...Excellent food selection. we always enjoy dining at this restaurant.
We enjoy dining at Monocacy Crossing. We can always count on the food to be wonderful. Our waitress was terrific!
The staff is always super friendly and our server was awesome! They are never in a rush at least not to us, just great timing. Drinks and warm bread to start and just about the time we needed more food our order was there. Food was hot and delicious as it has been the other times we have been here. For a nice dinner with friends or a quiet brunch for 2 the atmosphere here is always perfect. This is always a great choice. Of course we will be back!
Fantastic food and reasonably priced. Leisurely ambiance. Wonderful and knowledgable staff. Easily one of my favorite restaurants.
First time visit. There were 6 of us getting together. Our waitress was fabulous! I like that when you get a wine by the glass, she would come over to the table and refill it right from the bottle. I felt like I was dining in someone’s home.
The food was delicious, also lots of choices.
Homemade desserts were yummy!
I would recommend this restaurant to anyone who will be in that area.
There was a nice casual outdoor patio that was full with patrons, also dining.
We will go backwards for sure.
Outdoor seating for a birthday celebration. Service was attentive, prompt and pleasant without hovering. Crab cakes were very fresh, with no filler and big lumps--delicious. Monocacy Crossing is a restaurant you can count on every time.
My wife and I live in Western Howard County and we have always enjoyed finding good restaurants towards Frederick. Monocacy Crossing was on my list of restaurants to try. I chose it when we were looking for a place to celebrate our anniversary. I was able to point my wife to the menus on the web page. We both quickly found more things and we knew that we would enjoy on both the appetizers and entree menus and we were not disappointed. Food was excellent the portions were reasonable and the presentations were lovely.
Amazing restaurant! The service and food are always exceptional! The crab cake special was delicious!
Food and service were wonderful. Fernando provided excellent service and recommendations. We thought a thunderstorm was coming so we sat inside. (We love the patio). It was extremely loud inside that we could not hear one another. The inside could use a refresh in appearance. It is a little off putting to sit in drab eating much great good. Would rethink coming back if we had to have inside seating.
Nice spot for outdoor dining. Excellent service and food.
The food was amazing! We will be back very soon!
Crab cakes were great. I had the pork tenderloin, wow was it great.
Food is always fantastic. Great service!
Great food. Pork tenderloin and beef medallions were on point. The waitress Sam was phenomenal and has huge potential to being a face the restaurant should be proud to have representing them. I would definitely recommend Sam as a waitress as her attention to detail and high level of service was a huge contributor to our great meal
Small, great restaurant with fantastic menu. I little tight for larger parties, but perfect for couples or outside dining.
The meals were tasty & very nicely presented. The soft shell crab sandwich, which was a special, was particularly good. The exterior of the restaurant was a little off-putting, but once we got inside, we were pleasantly surprised with how nice it was. Our server, Rebecca, was very friendly & helpful with our questions about the menu. She was also very attentive about being sure we had what we needed. She is a real asset to the restaurant.
Unbelievable quality of food for a place so far out of town. Worth the drive wherever you’re coming from!
Great meal and great service provided by our waiter. Great reasonable pricing and value
we 've been there many times & love the food & service...the noise level is usually bad & this time it was almost unbearable...
Dinner was fabulous and so was the service (as usual). Such a special spot:)
The bartender found out we like Pinot Noir and promptly shared some of the Pinots he has recently come to love even though the restaurant doesn't carry them all - we walked out with great ideas! Dinner was fantastic - we ordered all over the menu and tried a bunch of the specials - very happy with the quality of the food and size of portions. Our waiter was friendly and played along with us. Just a great all-around experience.
It was lovely & delicious!
Sat outside on patio on beautiful day. Not crowded. Good service
This was the second time my husband and I visited. This time was wonderful. We decided on Monocacy Crossing kind of last minute and were very glad we did. The front staff was very friendly, the wait staff were knowledgeable and efficient. The food was amazing; we both ate way too much and were pleasantly full.
We are from out of state and met a friend who lives in the area. It was a perfect meeting place. The food was over the top great and the service wonderful.
I reviewed this restaurant about 6 years ago. Nothing much has changed. The food is still outstanding, the service is excellent and the place still looks like it could use a refreshing. But it's more quaint than bad, won't distract me from enjoying an outstanding meal.
Monocacy Crossing is always a treat! Great restaurant tucked away from over-crowded franchises. It is always filled with customers, but yet never feels crowded. Such a treat to get true gourmet food, and the service is always quick and friendly. By far the best restaurant in the area, you will never regret going to Monocacy Crossing!
excellent restaurant for local MD menu with a historic ambiance. Away from the commercial areas on a country road next to the Monocacy river with plenty of parking and an outside deck. Highly recommend it !
We couldn't have picked a better place for our son's college graduation celebration. Everything from the service, to the main entrees, dessert and drinks (pineapple mojito) were all excellent. The restaurant was quiet enough to enjoy conversation, and also being able to reserve a table for a large party, especially on Mother's Day, was great. Would highly recommend.
We can always count on great food and great service at Monocacy Crossing .
Great wait staff, delicious entrees and desserts. Have recommended to family and friends. Never disappointed.
Love love love the Monocacy! Never disappointed with the food and drinks! Staff is incredible
So this will go down as an unique anniversary dinner but not necessarily in a good way. Our waitress, Kathy, was great. She was attentive and explained things on the menu without rushing us. However, the food was lacking for the price. My wife got the special which was lamb chops with root vegetable puree and asked them to be cooked per the recommendation of the chef. Well, the chops came out beyond well down and anyone that eats or cooks lamb chops knows they are to be cooked at least medium rare. She asked for them to be returned and cooked medium rare and it came back as medium well. She just gave up and ate the chops. As for my dish, I ordered the Veal and Pork Bolognese. It was good but too salty for me. I liked that they used fresh pasta but I couldn't eat too much of the dish. Dessert was good but they gave me regular coffee instead of decaf coffee which got my heart racing. Somehow they (back kitchen) brewed regular coffee in the decaf pot. Kathy was very apologetic but I ended my night not feeling well. So there were some hit and misses. I got recommendations from many people about this restaurant so I'm just going to chuck it up as a lost and not there finest hour.
Monocacy Crossing is a very good restaurant. The food is very tasty and not at all ordinary. Even down to the salad dressing they make it special. We shared a room with a large group which was a little noisy, but the atmosphere is friendly, the lady waiting our table came around occasionally just to see if we were doing well, and its a restaurant that all my friends love. They just opened their outside dining which was considerably more popular than the number of people who chose to eat inside. My friends and I always have a great time and since we sit and talk the pace of the restaurant is just right for us. The service is not slow, its just paced around a casual setting. I have never eaten there at night, but judging by the lunch selections, the dinners are probably spectacular.
Always the best in all categories, food, service, anbiance
The food and service were both outstanding. 7 of us all enjoyed our meals. The sausage in the omelet was yummy. The bacon was crisp and tasty. We enjoyed our coffee, tea, and conversation until the meals were all served hot. Would definitely go back!
