The food was superb, the server excellent, and the drinks generous. Monocacy Crossing is not cheap, but quality never is. I appreciated that they gave us a corner table as I have hearing issues. In general, I was impressed with the moderate noise level. In most restaurants, patrons immediately start talking loudly - I don't know why - but that hasn't been the case the three times I've eaten at Monocacy. (There was a wailing baby, but luckily that stopped.) I recommend Monocacy Crossing enthusiastically.

Our 2nd time there. Food is exceptional and creative but not super foodie level so the average person looking for a great meal with items they know with unique combonations of flavors can experience a great meal.

My wife have found a unique combo of two appetizers: get the hush puppies (a must) and the scallops (also awesome), use the leftover bacon an sauteed sweet onions over the hush puppies... its really works.

The beef medallions for dinner are an A+.

YOU MUST HAVE THE WARM COCONUT CAKE FOR DESSERT!

If you don't get alcohol you can get out for under $100 for two with 2 apps, 2 meal and 2 desserts. It is the desserts that are on the pricey side but the apps are on the low side so pick you choices.

We will be back again.

Monocacy crossing is advertised as a historic fine-dining venue. Unfortunately, I took my girlfriend here for dinner to celebrate our 3 year anniversary. I found that it was very loud, far from romantic and the food was very sub-par for the price of "upscale" dining (coming from two non-picky eaters). 60%+ of the guests were obviously drunk and under dressed for the advertised establishment.

We ate at Monocacy for our anniversary because we love this restaurant. It was very busy the night we went and so a little on the slow side, but the food was totally worth the wait and the waitress was pretty good about letting us know what was up. The atmosphere is always nice but relaxed and it is always friendly. I had the pork tenderloin, which is excellent and my husband had the filet, which he also said was excellent, both served with sugar snap peas that were very good. My entree had scalloped potatoes, which are the reason I get that entree.

As I was traveling for work on Valentine’s Day we decide to head to Monocacy Crossing. While the Shrimp and Scallop tagliatelle was fine, we ordered the Surf and Turf special that was well past it’s prime. My guess is that they didn’t move enough Filet and Lobster tails on Wednesday so they were left out until Friday. The filet was tough and flavorless bedsides for the undisclosed (nearly tartar) sauce on top of it and the lobster tail. Also not mentioned by our waitress was that the Lobster tail would be deep fried and smothered by the same sauce as on the steak.

My husband and I have been frequenting Monocacy Crossing for the last four or five years. The food is always outstanding - wonderful flavors, fresh, high-quality ingredients, creative and stimulating dishes. We have so many favorite dishes - the grilled NY strip steak w/truffle fries, the pork tenderloin w/sage cider sauce and scalloped potatoes (to die for!), the Braised Veal Cheeks w/ricotta gnocchi! The soups are amazing! The scallop appetizer - delectable. The pork taco appetizer is so flavorful! The sirloin salad for lunch - scrumptious! I could go on and on. I must mention the desserts, prepared in house by the pastry chef. There is always something on the dessert tray that will tempt you! Things such as Roasted Banana Cheesecake, Grilled Citrus Pound Cake w/Blood Orange Ice Cream and Berry Compote, Raspberry "Zinger" Cake! I must end by saying this restaurant has the most efficient, most accommodating, and nicest staff I've encountered in any restaurant. The owners have made this restaurant a true gem! Try it. You won't be disappointed.

Always one of our favorites. This is so unassuming from the road, but a gem inside. It's a "downtown restaurant" without the "downtown headache". We only make it out once every year or 18 months, but that just means there is time for the menu options to evolve. Much of what was on the menu this time seemed new, but they still had the never-disappointing NY Strip with Shallot Butter (have this with a Rioja - perfect pairing!). This time around, my wife and I shared the Sauté Dry Sea Scallops with Shallot and Bacon Vinaigrette appetizer. Scallops are one of my all-time favorites and this was one of the most rewarding plates I've had. For entrees, my wife had the BBQ Shrimp and Andouille Sausage with Sweet Corn Risotto (I tried some - WOW! - sweet with a kick - but not too much of a kick) and I had the Sauteed Shrimp and Scallops over Tagliatelle Pasta with a Roasted Garlic and Herb Cream (wonderfully rich with a tremendous depth of flavor and the scallops and shrimp were cooked perfectly).

We've celebrated our Anniversary here several times. This latest meal was a Valentine's Day Eve dinner. It's a great place for special occasions, but you shouldn't wait for a special occasion to try it out if you haven't been or to come back if you have. Price-wise, it's pricier than a "normal" night out with only two entrees under $20, but worth every penny. The service is always worth the extra 20+%, too. Like I said: Always one of our favorites.

Disappointed with food. Calamari was underdone and served on a plate sitting in oil. Snow peas needed the tough string removed but were cooked perfectly. Others in my party were served some hot food, but main entre' was not hot all. Rushed thru dessert and misunderstood that they offered one specific complimentary dessert for birthday. Was hoping for a 2nd cup of coffee but waittress disappeared. Not anxious to return anytime soon.

Nice local place but food was just ok. Steak was tough and plates were surprisingly dirty. They exchanged right away and service was very good. Ambiance was very good.

This was an anniversary dinner with my wife. I reserved a table, dropped off a single rose in advanced and had the waitress put a bottle of wine on the table. The table was set up waiting for our arrival. The food was very good, and the service was excellent! We will absolutely go back again!

As usual great service, great food and great wine. I've had veal cheeks before but this presentation was incredibly good. The Ricotta Gnocchi were a surprise; not just a pasta alternative but deep fried. An incredible alternative to everyday potatoes. They were soft and moist pillows of deliciousness. Kudos to the chef.

This was my third time dining here and every time I have been here the service has been exceptional. The food is a bit pricey but the full experience makes for a very special, memorable dining experience.

This is the second time we came and we had the same waitress. The food was decent but this time the fries were not crispy and look a bit burn. The service here was promp but the waitress was not as attentive as she should be. First of all, she never told as about today specials. She never came around and check if the food was ok and we ordered appetizer, entree and dessert. I used to be a server and I just couldn’t help myself noticing little things other servers do when I go out to eat. She didn’t even say thank you when she returned our credit card. This happened to us both times we were here. First time I thought she was just busy but when it happened again the second time it made us feel like we were not welcome. I notice that she asked other table how their food was and refill their waters while we did not get the same standard treatment. Not that we need the attention but that’s not what I would expect from this kind of restaurant. So we will not be going back there again.
