As usual, great food and great service. Get the Pork Tenderloin. Love this place!
Perfect evening
The buttermilk chicken was sweet and moist. The potions are generous. The artichoke appetizers and calamari are outstanding. Can't go wrong with any option on the menu. Often have interesting specials, kangaroo, John Dory or Lous de Mer that never disappoint.
I had the monkfish special. It was outstanding. My wife had shrimp and grits and she thought it was great,
too.
Always great service and food. Best to make a reservation
All of the food was amazing! They have the best seared tuna around.
My wife and I really enjoyed our time out. It's been awhile since we have gone out to dinner. But since you have the outside dining area. It made it very comfortable to be in. The drinks, appetizers and food are exceptional. Always a treat to go. And Becca was very helpful with our questions and her service. Thank you again, David.
Always a special meal... food was superb. We dined inside but the patio area looks inviting for our next visit.
We hadn't eaten at Monocacy Crossing for years but snagged a last-minute reservation there for Easter Sunday brunch. They had some drink specials on the menu, so we started things off with cocktails. Smokey Sunrise for me and a boozy coffee drink for my partner. When they ask if you want bread, say yes. They served us fresh, warm raisin bread, and brought us more when we asked for seconds. Yum. As for the mains, I had a generous portion of chorizo quiche which came with a nice side salad. She had Belgian waffles with bacon. Food was great. No dessert for me, even though I was tempted. She had something involving bread pudding and whipped cream that made her smile. Service was friendly and attentive. We sat inside at one of the high top tables near the front windows. They have a very nice outdoor eating area if you are smart enough to reserve one of those tables. That's the only thing I would do differently. We really enjoyed ourselves and will be back soon.
great food and ambiance. took a friend there for her first time. she loved it.
It's always a good time at the Monocacy Crossing but the new Spring menu is a fun change. I had the new salmon dish this weekend. It was delicious. You cannot go wrong here. Great food, super servers.
Great experience, as always. Everyone in our party enjoyed.
It’s been a long time since we dined here. The restaurant had been renovated, yet it still seemed dated and worn in places. Our server was top notch, introduced herself (Cheryl) and brought our drinks and food out very quickly. The food was good, although nothing special. The creme brûlée was too “custardy” for our taste. The wine list by the glass was very limited.
Overall, it was a pleasant dinner. We noted extensive outdoor seating which would be a very nice alternative to eating indoors once warmer weather arrives!
Excellent food would recommend
The food is always delicious and the staff is very personable. We love this place.
We went for brunch - The fried deviled eggs with crab were to die for!! The bread...yummm. The service was great too.
Love the new spring menu! New additions plus the return of some old favorites!
Service and food were excellent. Loved the jalapeño bacon doughnuts!
Love the outdoor seating. Our server Becca was fantastic!!!
I always love my meals at Monocacy Crossing. And this one was no different.
the Grilled Caeser Salad with Grilled Salmon was perfect for my l lunch.
There was only 1 other table in the dining room with us.
The staff is always friendly, professional and knowledgeable.
Our server could have checked on us a little more often. But other than that, everything was fabulous as usual.
And even though it was lunch, I still got the pound cake dessert. OMG. that's all. O.M.G.
I have never left MC without having it. And neither should you!
Great food and service! My husband and I both enjoyed steaks and the wedge salad followed by banana cheesecake for dessert!
The gods was wonderful. Unfortunately, the service was not at its usual level of excellence.
My friends brought me here for a retirement brunch. We all loved everything! It was a nice day so we could be outside and socially distanced as well. My friends said they would definitely come back.
Excellent service and great dinner, cooked to our request.
The service was good and the food was fabulous!
Food was really good, our server was pretty poor though. Didn’t give us silverware with our bread and no steak knife with the steak. Was a bit slow with drinks too.
We arrived 15 minutes early for our reservation, but they sat us right away. The waitress immediately told us happy anniversary, and was super informative and prompt. The food was absolutely outstanding.... and since I’m 9 months pregnant instead of giving us complimentary glasses of champagne to celebrate they gave us a free dessert. Will absolutely return!!!
What a delightful spot! The SCALLOPS! Great drinks, zero fussiness, good food. It’s bigger on the inside than it looks. Don’t keep passing it by, stop and give it a shot!
Excellent food. Reasonably priced. Nice atmosphere.
Always a good time at Monocacy... :)
Can't wait for warmer weather...
The food was outstanding and we tried everything from appetizers to dessert. The duck nachos and crab dip were superb. The pork tenderloin in cider sauce was tender and full of flavor. The burgers, sandwiches and salads were also outstanding. We had the creme brulee and coconut pound cake for dessert - and definitely recommend that you save room for them!
We went here for my girlfriends birthday, it was a first for both of us. The restaurant itself is beautiful inside and out. The food was absolutely fantastic! Unfortunately the drinks & the service didn’t match the food. Both of our drinks were awful and barely drinkable due to how strong they were, basically straight alcohol with very little flavor. Neither of us wanted to finish our drink and certainly didn’t want to ask for a second. The most disappointing part however was the waitresses complete lack of service. Our waitress came to our table for the very bare minimum, never asked how anything was and spent most of her time catering to the other tables with older couples. Upon paying, she quickly slapped the card and receipt back on the table and walked away without so much as a “thanks for coming in” or “have a good night.” I believe that she assumed because we are in our late 20’s that we wouldn’t tip as well and thus why she rudely ignored our table. My girlfriend was a server for years and was just as irritated with the service.
That being said, the food is still fantastic and worth a try. We will give it another try but we will be sure not to get the same server.
This place is perpetually awesome and thats why we frequent it! My wife and I do wish they'd switch the club soda in both the blueberry mojito and blood orange crush over to Sprite for a slightly sweeter drink. Are we being nit-picky? Absolutely lol! Other than that this place is without fault!
Sat on the patio and it was very pleasant- especially with the heaters!
The blood orange margarita was DELICIOUS! Apps and dinner were excellent! Monocacy is our favorite place to dine out!
I was very much looking forward to a nice steak for my Birthday dinner. The food was amazing, the steak came our perfect, charred( I asked for it this way) on the outside and pink in the middle. I would, without hesitation recommend this place. The service was top notch as well!!!!
There for a birthday... Overall good experience. Small, quiet. Not crowded at all. The food was all hot and fresh, drinks were strong. Amazing seafood, amazing burger. Duck nachos and fried deviled eggs were delicious! Great cold salad! I think the entree portions were a little small for the price, but the quality was fantastic. Our server was friendly but wasn't very attentive and we like we were bugging her at times. I probably wouldn't have a birthday there again but definitely a great spot for a nice dinner.
Wonderful food in a great, surprisingly rural setting. The outdoor garden eating area is lovely. Great service with very accommodating servers.
Food was imaginative, promptly served and delicious. Hostess was gracious and accommodating; instead of the high top table in the noisy bar, she seated us at a standard table in the quieter dining area. I had the trout and my husband the salmon. We were able to get scalloped potatoes which we love, instead of rice. The lime sangria was not as good as other sangrias we have had there; it tasted medicinal. The bourbon, chocolate peanut butter truffle cake was flavorful and not too sweet. Monocacy Crossing is still our favorite restaurant.
I've been going to Monocacy Crossing since it was the Blue Fox, and it's just a great place to eat. On a nice summer day you can sit outside and enjoy the Whiskey Duck nachos and good beer and wine, or go inside for a classic Maryland Inn experience.
My only complaint? The wine list had only two French champagnes, and one was a rose and he other only came in splits.
I know, I know. . .
It's a great place, well worth the drive in from anywhere in the area.
We started with the red onion straws with a delicious dip and warm bread in three varieties. Our adult meals included the dinner burger piled high with crispy shoestring fries and the bacon-wrapped beef medallions with chunky redskin mashed potatoes and fresh steamed green beans. Our teenager didn't want a whole meal and ordered the Tai sweet and spicy chicken bites snack and they offered to serve it with fries to make it more like a meal. Dessert included a complimentary birthday vanilla ice cream served in a puff pastry with 3 kinds of sauce and a slice of ultra creamy lemon cheesecake with blueberry compote. The wait staff was friendly and helpful, the atmosphere was relaxing (although the back room was slightly chilly without the wood stove burning) and we will definitely be returning in the future.
