   Was a lovely, intimate restaurant. Tapas and share plates were unusual and delicious! Loved the tuna tartare and the gorgeous, petite but satisfying crumbed scallop sandos!! A must have!

   The food was very nice. Wasn’t too impressed with the service. Very slow and we waited for the dessert with our dirty finished plates on our table for 25 minutes tried to get the attention of the waiter but was ignored by the guy making drinks. Then she dropped the dessert on our table. We were on a strict time schedule so it was quite disappointing. As I took my partner here for his birthday & I got recommended this place. Wouldn’t go there again to be honest.

   Loved most of the dishes, except for the herb crusted pork chop which was very disappointing. Lack any real flavour, didn’t seem to fit the menu and expensive for one chop. The restaurant is tiny and had a cool ambience, but no air conditioning and on the day we were there it was uncomfortably hot. Lovely service though.

   Love this place - delicious food and great service and the mini-tini is a winner. It was a warm night though and as there was no air conditioning so it was quite uncomfortable. Otherwise I would highly recommend a visit.

    The food was absolutely wonderful, the service was terrific, very professional and friendly, and I love the space, small, stylish and a very Tokyo feel. The only small things that could be improved is the food timing, there was no control over when it came out of the kitchen and there were some very long waits, but a very pleasant wait with a glass of wine or two! and there's not enough menu choice if you're a vegetarian - like my friend who I would love to bring here. Overall I love this place.

    I had to cancel the booking as my partner was unwell. I rang and left messages from 9 am on Saturday morning. there was no method to cancel the booking online. I was told by the huffy person at the end of the line that we would still be charged as we did not cancel within the time frame required. I was not offered an alternate night - just told that was policy and we would be charged.

    Always enjoyable - the food is consistently good, interesting menu and good wine - the wine by the glass reisling was delicious. We particularly enjoyed the cucumber dish and the zucchini dish. Very personable service.

    First of all, I called and texted the restaurant to change my booking time in two consecutive days but they never pick up the phone or respond to text. We had the feed me menu $70 per person. That comes with sichuan cucumber, raw tuna tartare, curried spammer crab, snake beans and an earl grey brûlée to share, and we each have a pork jowl skewer and a scallop sando . The cucumber, scallop sando and tuna tartare were delicious but the rest was average. The pork jowl has a strong porky smell and taste which I found unpleasant to eat. The amount of food served for feed me menu for 2 was less than $140, therefore the feed me menu was not quite value for money. Service was minimal. Two persons were in the kitchen prep for food and only one person taking order, serving, making drinks and washing dishes.

    Was so excited for this but quite disappointed as the sample menu showed lots of vegetarian options but we got there and there were only a few. My partners meal came out after I’d finished mine and his cauliflower was undercooked. It was also freezing. We ended up picking up takeout on the way home So much potential so it was a shame

    Thanks very much Mono-XO for a lovely night out! The food, drinks, service, environment and ambience were all excellent. I'm a vegetarian and ate 3 absolutely delicious dishes and a gorgeous dessert. A perfect experience!

    Some dishes are too salty even when having with alcohol. The sauce for some dish is too strong for me. Like the sour and sweet and salty ume sauce in the pork jowl skewers.

    We arrived and ordered a bottle of wine and begun looking at the menu, which stated to advise staff of any dietary requirements. We asked if there were any additional vegetarian options aside from the two small plates, there weren’t but we were advised of the options that alternated for vegetarian guests, which sounded great. We were told changes wouldn’t be made to any dishes. If we’d given advanced warning of our dietaries alteration would’ve been made. This isn’t stated on the website or social media. It’s also particularly frustrating as the menu states to advise or any dietary requirements. I had also checked the website and social media ahead of time of sample menu but it wasn’t available. Other guests had uploaded pictures of menus, the most recent being a couple of months ago and roughly half the items on the menu were veggie. When we were leaving we had to pay for the entire bottle and not the glass each that we’d drank. We also had to pay the dine-in price for the bottle and were told a take-away price wasn’t an option even though it wasn’t possible to have food there. The food does look good, but after the inflexible service that we had I can’t recommend Mono XO to anyone, vegetarian or otherwise. I’m extremely disappointed and won’t be returning. I will say that the host/waitress was very apologetic to us and was visibly upset after returning to tell us alterations weren’t an option. I can only assume that the chef/owner wasn’t very nice when she advised their were guests with veggie requirements.

    Gorgeous food, friendly service and really good value. Love the look of the little restaurant with lovely lightning. Only snag was the music was a little too loud, but worth it for all the rest.
