Good restaurant, with great service. They have a lot of interesting choices on the menu. We tried the Duck Bao Buns, and those were amazing. The Japanese fried chicken was disappointing (just bland chicken chunks). The Hamachi scallion roll was pretty good. For dessert, we tried the soft serve cones (very good) and cheesecake (also very good).
As far as drinks, try the rebellion. 👌🏾

I’ve been here twice and the service is outstanding. Nothing makes for a wonderful dining experience with a smiling staff. The food has stayed consistently delicious once again. Will be coming back.
The vegetarian options are very limited. But the tuna sushi was amazing.
The food is absolutely delicious. Especially the Seabass roll it’s amazi and the spicy tuna roll. The albacore tuna it’s it’s also delicious. It’s a great restaurant and great food. And a very good ambience.
The Chicken Teriyaki was raw and my date got sick. The fried chicken came out 1 hour after ordered when we were ready to go. Had to ask for my cocktail three times. The concept is nice but the staggered delivery of food was off. I have never felt the need to write a negative review but for the price I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yet again, another great experience at Monkitail in the Diplomat Hotel on Hollywood beach. Every time I visit, I make it a point to try new menu items and I haven’t been disappointed yet. Make sure you get the tasting menu, it’s a great way to customize your experience and try many of their amazing food items.

Worth the drive from South Beach. Outstanding food and service, presentation and ambiance. Waiter Pablo was excellent throughout the evening. Have returned many times, sometimes staying at the hotel, sometimes not, but always having a great experience.
My husband and I had the best experience for our dinner. Our waiter, Pablo, was a pleasure. He was very knowledgeable about the menu as well. We splurged and did the chef sampler and saki sampler and it did not disappoint! Everything about it was A+.
We did not like how the courses came out with a mix of meat & fish. I am a Sommelier and F&B Director. I prefer to eat a tasting menu in progression. In addition drink along side with the courses.
The service was not that great either but each food was really good besides the out of sequence.

This place was exceptional! The food and service were top quality. Get the chef's tasking menu, each plate served was better than the last. The Monkitail signature drink is a must. The place is cozy and romantic, perfect environment for our anniversary dinner.
I love this place, its pricey but worth it. Matteo was our waiter he is absolutely amazing I will ask for him every time!
This was my second time dining at Monkitail and yet again I was WOWed by the food and the service. All the food was absolutely delicious, the specialty drinks were delicious and uniquely presented as well. Our server, Erika, delivered great service and was so knowledgeable about the menu. All in all a memorable experience and I look forward to dining here again.

This place is next level. My taste buds were in heaven with every dish. Everything from start to finish was just delicious. We ordered the New York strip, pork dumplings, duck bao buns and much more. Our servers Romario, and Brandon were off the charts. They explained every dish and were super attentive showing true professionalism. I recommend this place to everyone. All in all it was phenomenal.

Another amazing night at Monkitail! Their new specials are thru the roof! The crispy sea bass roll was ridiculous with wasabi soy sauce. Always a great experience definetly don’t miss out on Nokku ask Mike where the secret bar is !
Super expensive for a Hollywood restaurant. Food was good but I think they increased their prices recently. Better off Makoto in Bal Harbor, better food and better value.
And thank you to the hostess (this is where I get even) who tried to give us the worst table in the restaurant when I reserved beforehand and the restaurant was half empty. The table was at the end of a corridor, dark and an awful location. Shouldn't even be a table especially after spending over $200 in your restaurant.
Consistently good service and food. Not huge portions but adequate-- you can taste a lot of small dishes. Might be expensive to feed someone with a large appetite. Brussel Sprouts and Teriyaki Chicken are two of our favorite dishes and these are large enough to share!

We came to celebrate our anniversary and had a wonderful time. Our server was Pablo and he made us feel right at home. We tried the chef's tasting menu and enjoyed everything that came out way. The food was delicious, and the atmosphere was romantic. I recommend and would go again.

The items that were listed gluten free on the menu were not all true once at the restaurant. Very disappointed. Most of the food was average, a couple items were not as good as expected and a couple were better.

My husband and I were staying at the diplomat for my birthday and had dinner at Monkitail at the recommendation of everyone we asked! The decor is beautiful, very cool and posh without being stuffy at all. We started with the Monkitail cocktail which has a pretty cool presentation where they smoke the glass before pouring. Our waiter Claude recommended we go with the Chef's Selection and guided us to choosing a delicious sampling of the restaurant. Absolute must haves are the duck bao buns, scallops robatayaki, aged NY strip steak.
Sushi rolls and charred broccoli were delicious! Couldn't have been prepared better! The cotton cheesecake was the perfectly light dessert after the great meal. Service was very good as well. Would definitely enjoy again upon my return.
Amazing ambiance! the decor was tastefully executed , the food was extremely tasty. We had the chef special which consisted of 10 tapas style portions and I highly recommend it.

It was a parting day for me and a good friend of mine as I am from Chicago , I am going back home to Chicago after three weeks in Miami , as for my friend-they live here. As a treat It was their first time here after living here for 16 years. As well as my first time visiting and dining here. Food was above expectations. The only
Complaint on the food would be. The grilled lobster tail wasn’t to edible given it was not detaching from shell and ended up being tossed as I didn’t want to be that lady attacking a small plate, I did let server know I wasn’t satisfied
Furthermore, As the business showed its eagerness to fully close by brightening the dining room and muting the music then finally giving me a half filled / made drink. I asked and paid my bill I waited for my final receipt and change . But Waited tooo long . I missed my Uber .
Ultimately I’ll say this .

As this wasn’t the worst place. I would recommend and give it another try . I’ll add it to my reasons to come back. Don’t hesitate on the desserts or signature drinks .. keep it up and perfect the craft from open to close.

The overall dining experience was fair. The dinning room is poorly lit and dark. The menu was confusing and needed clarification from the server. The quality of the food was fair but expensive. Cocktails were mediocre and were returned by two guests in our party. The restaurant does validate for parking.
Food was fantastic. We opted for the Chef’s Tasting Menu (10 selections -1 from each section plus dessert). It was a lot of food and we weren’t able to finish it. It was a pity as everything tasted great and we really wanted to eat it all. We made sure to try everything and we loved every selection. It was all fresh and great tasting. If I was pushed to pick favorites I’d say the Kobe beef robatayaki, lamb chop robatayaki, and yellowtail toro sashimi were my favorites. But really everything we ate was excellent. Service was great. It was a wonderful experience. Can’t wait to go back.
