It was a good experience, very nice and we had an amazing waiter. The food was okay. The food seem charred and had a bit of a burnt taste to it but wasn’t too bad. Other than that, great service, great atmosphere and amazing ambiance.

Glad that we made reservations as the restaurant was packed for early dinner. I am also thankful that my table was ready when we arrived...one of my pet peeves is arriving on time for a reservation and having to wait for a table. Good job, Monkeypod.

My wife and I had the lobster seafood medley for our anniversary dinner. $50. each. Noodles were all stuck together, mixed with tomato paste, and the lobster was about 3 inches long and cooked as tough as a piece of rope. Will not come back

Great atmosphere, value of food extremely high for amount of food you get, table was ready close to time of reservation, but took an hour before food was served. Way too long when you have 3 small kids.

I arrived late from traffic and they were very accommodating still, and had the table ready within 5-10 even though it was packed for Valentine’s Day. The server was awesome as well!

Went for happy hour, great table by window listening to wonderful live music and had an attentive waitstaff that keeps coming around to push drinks. Really disappointed with the food...crust on pizza was really soft, should be a little crispier. Not worth $19 regular price. The garlic fries again was pale colored, soggy and limp, how can any restaurant mess that up? My husband ordered the fish and chips, 3 small pcs with same limpy fries, definitely not worth $24.
Food was much better a couple of years ago................

My wife had the Fresh Gnocchi with Pork Sausage but some of the gnocchi was under cooked and mushy. She ended up eating it all except one piece because the server never returned to the table until it was bill time. A manager did end up stopping by and offered her a dessert but she is not a dessert eater. He said he would advise the kitchen and thanked us for coming in.

I think an invitation to return and try the gnocchi on his dime would have been more appropriate than a dessert.

The Monkeypod pleases us twice, once for lunch, once for dinner. Both visits were accompanied with very pleasant live music and were enhanced by terrific servers, Quinn for lunch and Tom at dinner. The four of us were all pleased with our food. We went for the mai-tais, which are fabulous. (Did they steal the recipe from Gannon's or vice versa? I'd love to have a side-by-side comparison). The upcountry special was one of the best tasting steaks I’ve ever had while my companions raved over their fish choices. For dinner, inside was pretty loud so we were fortunate to find seating on the terrace. I highly recommend Monkeypod and look forward to returning on our next visit to Maui.

My guests were leaving EARLY the next morning so we came at Happy Hour. The lobster deviled eggs, an appetizer we order regularly were the best EVER. All in all, food was great, server helpful and we never felt rushed or hurried. The weather cooperated. All and all, a terrific MPK "event".

Had family of 4 with us for lunch. The kids were able to order from the Keiki menu and were satisfied with their meals. Booth/table area where we sat could have been cleaner at start but the kids were messy as well. Server was gracious and very helpful with menu choices.

Fish & Chips:
French Fries were limp & over fried.
Fish was good.
1 teaspoon of coleslaw/lunche was less than generous. Tartar sauce was replaced by plain mayonnaise.

Food was marginal at best and way over priced for the portions. Drinks were very expensive as well ordered 2 drinks came to 28.00 and they were about 4 ounces each. We stayed at a resort close by and there wasn't a lot of different options to walk to so we gave it a try. Save your money nothing spectacular.
