Monkeypod Kitchen - Ko Olina
Our restaurants are founded upon a passion for craft and we are dedicated to mastering the craft of food, drink, and merrymaking…with Aloha! Our menu features fresh island fish, hand tossed pizzas from our kiawe wood burning oven, and homemade pies made from scratch.
Thirty-six craft beers served at twenty-nine degrees are on tap, representing the coldest beer and best selection of microbrews on the island. Our culinary cocktails feature unique ingredients such as acai spirit, coconut water, and Kula lavender. Our passion for craft also extends to our diverse wine list, which emphasizes sustainability, drinkability and fun.
We came here on a recommendation of other traveling friends. Fish and chips, fish tacos, cheeseburger were all awesome. Had a mixed drink, and though overpriced, it was delicious. We had decent to good service from all the support staff, however our server seemed like this might have been her first night on her first job - though she told us she’d been working there a long time.
Relatively priced. Specialty drinks are over priced as usual. The food was awesome. Had the seafood special and it was so good, worth the $46.
My wife’s lobster came out rubbery and cold. After we sent it back, they brought her less lobster. We have a 7:45 reservation, but weren’t seated until 8.
Never imagined a Valentines Day dinner at a great restaurant would have been so sour. The food and service was fine. BUT WOW, there was an overly obnoxious group with 2 small kids that were cursing like crazy, drunk, and loud. One diner engaged the man about the issue and was basically laughed at. We complained to the manager and she went over to say something and was basically laughed at....when is enough, enough.
We love MonkeyPods! The steaks are amazing. The ribeye is my go-to meal. The jalapeno mashed potatoes are ono-licous (I recommend doubling up on them). It's a little in the pricey side, but worth it!
We always eat at Monkeypod several times when we visit Ko Olina. We normally do an early reservation and take advantage of the happy hour prices. Tonight we were surprised to learn that they were not honoring the happy hour because it was Valentines Day. The server explained that they “couldn’t keep up” with the orders if they honored happy hour on such a busy night. I kind of doubt that explanation, but still did our normal order and paid the full price. Not a big deal, but further reason why I stay away from restaurants on holidays like Valentines Day and New Years Eve.
I have been a loyal patron of Monkeypod Kitchen for years, but sadly the quality and quantity of food has gone down. We went for an early Valentines Day lunch and the hostess insisted that we wait outside another 8 minutes in the cool and blustery weather until 11 am. When they were ready to seat customers, no one came out and said “ please come in and thank you for waiting”. Our server was very nice and efficient. I ordered the fresh fish mahi-mahi sandwich. It tasted a little fishy and the bun was no more than 2 inches in diameter for $ 21.95. My husband ordered the corn chowder with kale...it was $ 10.95 for a shallow bowl and didn’t have the consistency or chowder...it was runny. We also ordered a full order of the garlic truffle oil fries which is a must at this restaurant, but they were soggy. Definitely not what we expected since we were the first reservation of the day. Don’t think we’ll be coming back to this restaurant any time soon...so disappointed.
Best Ahi Tuna I’ve ever had!! Everything was delicious!
We are here on vacation and visited on a recommendation. This was our second visit and we may make another.
Great food great service
The food was very tasty here, and the service was mostly good. However, this is a very busy place, and not somewhere I would recommend for a relaxing meal. If you like a very vibrant vibe, if you will love it.
We visit pretty often and always enjoy their food and service but this time wasn’t. Foods are good as usual but service wasn’t. It’s my co-workers app birthday dinner so very disappointed. I talked to the manager before we left. He was really nice but our server was awful.
We were seated very promptly after making reservations using Open Table. Our server was Karina who explained the specials as well as providing recommendations on the appetizers. She was spot on! Karina provided great customer service with a friendly personality and came by just often enough to check on us.
Fish and chips were excellent. Date had the burger. No complaints. They have Glen Livet. That's a plus.
This restaurant was recommended to us and we decided to try it. We know prices in Hawaii are pretty steep but we expected a little more for the money. We ordered 2 fish sandwiches and one order of truffle fries, a beer and a mixed drink. With tip, it was $85.00. The sandwiches were good, but not worth $25 each. And no, we would not go back.
Food was excellent, server was great - the atmosphere wasn't as great as the one in Maui
Service and food were great. But the music and noise were so loud we could not have a conversation. I had to ask the server to turn the volume down. He did but just by a few dB. A shame to have noise ruin a nice setting and the efforts of the service team.
We were there for happy hour and with the discount it was a very good value (for Hawaii). The food was good and the place and live music was fun.
We had great fun while eating delicious food. Terrific casual atmosphere.
We arrived at our reservation time and there was a large party of people standing around all of the tables making so much noise you couldn’t hear a thing. They were present nearly 45 minutes before they finally filed out. Ruined the evening for us and many others with reservations.
Way too many kids, felt like I was at a chili’s. Great for large families if you want your kids to run around. Food was below average.
Very noisy felt very rushed this is 2nd visit last was in feb 2016 and honestly it was so much better at that time
There aren’t many places to eat in Ko’olina but this one is a reasonable option. Great atmosphere and service. Some dishes were hit or miss but overall tasty. Priced on the higher side as are most decent restaurants in the area.
Dallas our server was very personable and friendly. The Ribeye was awesome! We are staying at Disney’s Aulani across the street and walked right over with a 2-year old. Was nice to have another dining option without having to drive.
service was spot on, drinks were very delicious, food was ono
Great service, delicious meal, wonderful setting
The noise level was high and conversation at the table was drowned out. Not keen on returning
Happy hour at MonkeyPod is always good.
Very polite waitresses
Limited menu. Service was good.
Food was excellent
Great location! Good food. Too expensive for what you get.
My cousin was in town and would have loved for her to try more of the food. Due to several experiences in a row where certain things were not available sort of ruined it for the immediate future. Also, although I made a reservation through Open Table and showed up for it, at some point after we paid, Monkeypod Kitchen changed the reservation time and cancelled it. Therefore causing me to contact Opentable, it was then resolved.
Excellent food. Good service. Nice setting. I wonder if anything can be done about the flies? We sat outside on the lanai, which was really pretty, but the flies showed up with the food. Not so good.
Great food, over the top service
The food was outstanding as was the service!
