Monkeypod Kitchen - Ko Olina
Our restaurants are founded upon a passion for craft and we are dedicated to mastering the craft of food, drink, and merrymaking…with Aloha! Our menu features fresh island fish, hand tossed pizzas from our kiawe wood burning oven, and homemade pies made from scratch.
Thirty-six craft beers served at twenty-nine degrees are on tap, representing the coldest beer and best selection of microbrews on the island. Our culinary cocktails feature unique ingredients such as acai spirit, coconut water, and Kula lavender. Our passion for craft also extends to our diverse wine list, which emphasizes sustainability, drinkability and fun.
Great atmosphere and our service was exceptional thanks to Tasla. She was outstanding and the grand diferencia. Amazing place for a romantic dinner.
Great place to eat and hang out. Good atmosphere and went back once more.
Come for the Mai Tais and Poke. Unfortunately they were out of so many menu items the evening we went, that our party opted for options that were just ok.
always an enjoyable experience, the live music a plus.
Food was delicious and lively. It was way too loud and the musician was not a bonus. I wouldn't want go to back to listen to the loud noise. We had a hard time talking to the people we dined with.
Awesome server in “Stephanie”!!! The time we were there was crowded and noisy. But our server was so good and accommodating that some how the noise level just didn’t matter. It was a great time!! We ‘ll back for happy hour.
The draft beer list was fantastic! The wife and I enjoyed the saimin and the salads. Great experience!
We have been to Monkey Pod many times. Having just moved back to the island after 3 years hiatus, we thought it was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. The food is always great and the Mai Tais are amazing. Plus Happy Hour 3-5:30 everyday is a major bonus, try and get a seat on the Lanai for the live music.
This is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is spectacular and our service was great. It was very crowded, as expected, but we were served with a lot care and friendliness.
Went for lunch and it was delightful. The mai tai was great, the brussel sprouts were fantastic, and loved the saimin. My wife had the pumpkin patch ravioli and loved it. She rated the pina coloda a 10.
Excellent service. Greeted warmly by hostess who wished us a happy anniversary. Live music was very nice. Food was delicious. We made it for late night HH. We ordered the ravioli and truffle oil fries for appetizers and the pizza special, which featured pears and arugula. Our server notified us that the Ahi was sold out, but made a recommendation for the macadamia mahi mahi, which turned out to be excellent. We had the banana pie for dessert which is my all time favorite. We will definitely come back again!
We came here on a recommendation of other traveling friends. Fish and chips, fish tacos, cheeseburger were all awesome. Had a mixed drink, and though overpriced, it was delicious. We had decent to good service from all the support staff, however our server seemed like this might have been her first night on her first job - though she told us she’d been working there a long time.
Fantastic views, music, service and who can beat the wood fire pizza for $10 at happy hour with drinks. Must try Makawao Avenue or Maui Mule.
Food was good. Service was good. Music was ok.
Don’t go on a date and they sit you in the bar area! The language from the other guests was not appreciated.
Relatively priced. Specialty drinks are over priced as usual. The food was awesome. Had the seafood special and it was so good, worth the $46.
My wife’s lobster came out rubbery and cold. After we sent it back, they brought her less lobster. We have a 7:45 reservation, but weren’t seated until 8.
Never imagined a Valentines Day dinner at a great restaurant would have been so sour. The food and service was fine. BUT WOW, there was an overly obnoxious group with 2 small kids that were cursing like crazy, drunk, and loud. One diner engaged the man about the issue and was basically laughed at. We complained to the manager and she went over to say something and was basically laughed at....when is enough, enough.
We love MonkeyPods! The steaks are amazing. The ribeye is my go-to meal. The jalapeno mashed potatoes are ono-licous (I recommend doubling up on them). It's a little in the pricey side, but worth it!
Great food, great service. And got lucky with some good live music.
Our favorite go to place. Evening dinner special was great. Fish and chip? Fries were terrible. Enjoyed the evening, however.
Pricey overall but so is most ot HI, enjoyed dinner had the Tuna was exceptional, spouse had pizza enjoyed it as well.
Very good. It is pricey, but everything in Hawaii is. Love the pumpkin ravioli appetizer.
We always eat at Monkeypod several times when we visit Ko Olina. We normally do an early reservation and take advantage of the happy hour prices. Tonight we were surprised to learn that they were not honoring the happy hour because it was Valentines Day. The server explained that they “couldn’t keep up” with the orders if they honored happy hour on such a busy night. I kind of doubt that explanation, but still did our normal order and paid the full price. Not a big deal, but further reason why I stay away from restaurants on holidays like Valentines Day and New Years Eve.
Nice menu. We both had the burger entree. Taste was quite good, but the burger patty completely fell apart for both of us when we tried to pick up the burger. Thus, it became a fork and knife eating method. Noise level is quite loud, but I think they have designed it to be that way.
I have been a loyal patron of Monkeypod Kitchen for years, but sadly the quality and quantity of food has gone down. We went for an early Valentines Day lunch and the hostess insisted that we wait outside another 8 minutes in the cool and blustery weather until 11 am. When they were ready to seat customers, no one came out and said “ please come in and thank you for waiting”. Our server was very nice and efficient. I ordered the fresh fish mahi-mahi sandwich. It tasted a little fishy and the bun was no more than 2 inches in diameter for $ 21.95. My husband ordered the corn chowder with kale...it was $ 10.95 for a shallow bowl and didn’t have the consistency or chowder...it was runny. We also ordered a full order of the garlic truffle oil fries which is a must at this restaurant, but they were soggy. Definitely not what we expected since we were the first reservation of the day. Don’t think we’ll be coming back to this restaurant any time soon...so disappointed.
Best Ahi Tuna I’ve ever had!! Everything was delicious!
We are here on vacation and visited on a recommendation. This was our second visit and we may make another.
Great food great service
We visit pretty often and always enjoy their food and service but this time wasn’t. Foods are good as usual but service wasn’t. It’s my co-workers app birthday dinner so very disappointed. I talked to the manager before we left. He was really nice but our server was awful.
The food was very tasty here, and the service was mostly good. However, this is a very busy place, and not somewhere I would recommend for a relaxing meal. If you like a very vibrant vibe, if you will love it.
We were seated very promptly after making reservations using Open Table. Our server was Karina who explained the specials as well as providing recommendations on the appetizers. She was spot on! Karina provided great customer service with a friendly personality and came by just often enough to check on us.
Fish and chips were excellent. Date had the burger. No complaints. They have Glen Livet. That's a plus.
This restaurant was recommended to us and we decided to try it. We know prices in Hawaii are pretty steep but we expected a little more for the money. We ordered 2 fish sandwiches and one order of truffle fries, a beer and a mixed drink. With tip, it was $85.00. The sandwiches were good, but not worth $25 each. And no, we would not go back.
Food was excellent, server was great - the atmosphere wasn't as great as the one in Maui
Service and food were great. But the music and noise were so loud we could not have a conversation. I had to ask the server to turn the volume down. He did but just by a few dB. A shame to have noise ruin a nice setting and the efforts of the service team.
We were there for happy hour and with the discount it was a very good value (for Hawaii). The food was good and the place and live music was fun.
We had great fun while eating delicious food. Terrific casual atmosphere.
