Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Whalers Village
We love Monkeypod. Wow. Every time has been a delight. Thank you so much.
A bit loud inside. Great food, great Mai Tai’s but our server was less attentive to us (old people) and more attentive to the two tables with young ladies. He appeared to be annoyed with us.
Waitress was wonderful & food excellent.
Great service. Really good happy hour deals.
Lovely spot near the ocean. Hip vibe. The mai mai sis were fabulous
Had a beautiful birthday dinner sunset side.
Very delicious food, great service
Nice atmosphere . Had the fish tacos
French fries limp, fish not too fresh, noisy experience, too costly for quality of food. Very hot inside. Waiters should wear shorts since do hot.
Check in experience not good. I when I was checking in for my reservation I was told I had already checked in. I said I hadn’t and after three different hostess conversations and then they finally realized they checked in the wrong party prior to my arrival. They should have realized prior and without an attitude. However. After we were seated service by Ashley was great. Food was good. Recommend the gnocchi. A little too loud for conversation but great musician was playing.
Where to begin? Was really looking forward to dinner at Monkeypod during our anniversary trip to Maui. We had 7pm reservation through Open Table, arrived about 15 minutes early and checked in. We were informed that table were being cleared and given a pager. After waiting an inordinate amount of time while patrons who arrived after us were seated, we enquired as to status of our table to be informed that reservation had been cancelled (I later realized that I’d received OpenTable message ten minutes after we checked in indicating that RESTAURANT had cancelled our reservation.
At this point we were informed that our requested ocean front table was unavailable resulting in further wait. Unfortunately. things did not improve after we were seated. Service was extremely poor and slow. Coffees was served with grounds, etc.
There are many wonderful restaurants in Maui to waste time and money at mediocre places such as this.
Hostess staff was TERRIBLE. We had reservations and waited 30 minutes then after giving our pager back, approx. 10 other groups got sat before us who got there AFTER us!
Waitress was wonderful as were food and drinks
Food a bit overpriced for portioning of specials of the night. Very pricey with little fish portion
First time here and we were very pleased with everything. Nice casual alternative with a beautiful open air dining room. The food is very good and the fresh ingredients add to the overall quality.
We asked for a table to watch the sunset, and they gave us just what we asked for. Outstanding view! Very nice server, but the main courses were served while we were still enjoying our appetizer. We asked to have them taken away until we were ready. We weren’t lingering either - it felt like all the food arrived within 5 minutes of placing our order. Food was otherwise good
Very disappointed don't serve Chimay tripel anymore. Don't really care for any of the other beers on tap.
Unfortunately they don't cater to persons having food allergies, so my dinner was just ok. It was extremely loud, and made it very difficult to carry on a conversation. The service was fine, but the rest of the experience did not justify the price of the bill. We're not picky customers, but this place just didn't make any impression. Would absolutely go to Hula Grill over Monkeypod any day.
We were celebrating a birthday and wedding anniversary. Our waiter made it an amazing experience. We told the receptionist that we were celebrating a special occasion and she gave us an ocean view table and we got to watch the sunset. I would highly recommend this restaurant
Truly wonderful 21st birthday dinner! The food and drinks are outstanding! And the service and ambiance matches it. Would highly recommend!
Every single person I spoke with yesterday recommended this restaurant. Luckily for us, I listened and have nothing but great things to say. I highly recommend their fresh fish selection.
Tim the General Manger makes your dinning experience excellent
You generally feel so welcomed and the food is delicious!
Marina are waitress was amazing and made sure we had everything we wanted thank you for a wonderful evening
We were able to get a table on the perimeter so we saw a beautiful sunset. Drinks were fun and different, the wonton appetizer delicious. I got a salad and flatbread. Again, the dishes were creative and tasty. My husband had the seared Ahi entree and loved it. Our service was friendly, and despite being busy, we were not rushed. Great dinner.
The service was excellent and we really enjoyed the food and ambience! Would recommend and go back again
Service and food were disappointing Noise level was outrageous- wait staff were having to use raised voices just to give the specials. Appetizers were good but the main dishes were not up to par. Fish tacos were bland and encrusted fish special was all crust and no fish. Incredibly overpriced.
Great food great service! And the pie was amazing.
Amazing service and food
High prices!!! Great service
Mai tai terrific w passion fruit foam. Excellent fish tacos
Beautiful location in Lahaina, or server was 5 star, food was very good and fresh. Price was a little on the high side
Great food, great service, fun atmosphere. Our server Terry made our meal extremely enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Best gnocchi ever!!!! Greg was extremely helpful with our questions about menu options and was attentive without being disruptive throughout our dining experience.
We’ll be back, and will recommend Monkeypod to all of our Maui-bound friends
Celia our waitress was the best! The noodle soup was very flavorful.
50th wedding anniversary
Went here for Happy hour and just made it with 5 minutes to spare. Drinks were ok and food was just average. Felt like the food was delivered and heated up in a microwave. Not the best place in the area
Outstanding, unusual, Mai Tais. However, food was average and getting to Whaler’s Village and parking is just not worth it. There is far better food and ambience in the Kapalaua area.
We chose Monkeypod because of the Merrimans connection AND I liked it better! Easier to get a reservation (yay Opentable!) , less snobby, awesome service and attention to detail. The mahi-mahi with lemon beurre blanc was delicious. Loved the No Ka Oi cocktail too.
Pizza was fabulous. Open restaurant was very hot and noisy.
Did not live up to the hype - Dry fish and absent service - go to Hula Grill
Birthday! Free cheesecake!
We went during happy hour from 3:00 to 5:30, $10.00 pizzas and 1/2 price appetizers. Also $5.00 off specialty drinks. Very, very good. We will go back.
