Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Whalers Village
Always great food. Consistent each and every time.
Had a very good dinner with friends for two anniversary celebrations. Waiter was excellent and so was the food.
Service was subpar, food was ok, we are used to Vegas strip prices... this was high end Vegas strip pricing without the taste to back it up. Waitress was either high on something or just REALLY lazy... best part of this restaurant is the view and the MaiTai’s... come in for happy hour only... much better value.
Server was initially very rude and didn’t advise on happy hour items. Simply stated they are in the book - we asked 4 times before we got a clear answer. Once we were noticeably bothered by the service did she improve her tone.
Amazing in every way.
Busy and they were able to hold a table when we called ahead and said we were running late! Mahalo!
Love the Foam
Food was awesome. But sooooooo loud I could not hear person across the table.
Loved our waiter, Craig! Everything he suggested was spot on!! The mango pie was the best I’ve ever had!!!
Fun, alive, had wonderful, attentive service. Food was good.
My husband and I love Monkey Pod. We go for happy hour several times during our trips to Maui. Can’t beat the Mai Tai with lilikoi foam. So tasty!
I love Monkeypod-consistently excellent food, great service, awesome atmosphere.
Limited menu selections, I would like to see more chicken selections not the same old burger fanfare.
I was very disappointed with the noise level and the intense heat in the restaurant. We were a group of seven and we couldn’t stop perspiring. When paying $$$ for dinner, you would expect an indoor dining experience to have some air. It was oppressive. I, unfortunately, will not be back.
Go to a place that has more outdoor seating and if eating indoors, make sure there is circulation.
We took advantage of some of the happy hour prices and that helped with the overall cost and value. The food was delicious and the service was excellent.
Fantastic food, awesome waitress and accommodating to food requests. Book early to guarantee a time!
Average at best for the price. They advertised live music from 7-8pm but did not have live music. Food was ok... service was just ok.
The portion sizes are incredibly small for the price. The salad my wife ordered had maybe 9 leaves of lettuce? The beer I ordered was not available and overall just not impressed after hearing some very good things about this place. I will say the location is amazing and we were able to watch the sunset, but that was the main highlight of the dinner.
Best happy hour in Maui!
Loved this restaurant from start to finish. Located along the water in Whalers Village with beautiful views ( if you go prior to sunset you can enjoy the view a lot more). It had a great selection of foods-many of which were reasonably priced. They are well known for their mai tai drinks-and I could totally see why... so delish! Our server Shannon was awesome and really went out of her way to please us and make it a wonderful dining experience. Food was super farm fresh and scrumptious! In the end-the highlight was a complimentary delicious dessert in celebration of our anniversary (courtesy of our server). We trekked from Wailea to Lahaina to try the newer Monkeypod spot ( even though we had one less than 1mile from our hotel). So glad we did cuz it was a memorable experience ( special thanks to Shannon:)
My husband and I enjoyed our dinner at Monkeypod. Our table was at the edge of the patio, so we could see the water and smell the plumeria. Great ambiance! I ate fish tacos every day during our stay in Maui and these might have been the best. The fish was tender and juicy, not dry. The mai tai was excellent as well. My husband had the fish and chips which was just as good.
Nice restaurant with good food and superfriendly staff. Other restaurants are closer to the sea, with better view.
Super!!!! The food and the views are great
Sooooo... we were in Maui for 7 days and went to Monkeypod 4 times, if that tells you anything. How many mai tais does that equal? I have no idea! We have never had a bad meal at Monkeypod and I seriously DREAM of those mai tais with that heavenly lilikoi foam. And then when you think you can’t possibly put one more thing in your stomach.... PIE. Just say “YES” to the pie.
Monkeypod Kitchen has a terrific ocean setting, but offers limited & pricey options for lunch. Although the food was tasty, it seemed a bit expensive to pay more than $100 for a cheeseburger, hamburger, and fish sandwich with two soft drinks.
The waitress was friendly & attentive, and we enjoyed the oceanfront setting, but will likely not return to Monkeypod Kitchen for anything but happy hour when prices are more reasonable.
Food was awesome. Fish was super fresh and properly prepared - not dry. Delicious mango cream pie for dessert! Tasted like fluffy cheesecake.
Fun and delicious! We were so happy we made reservations by Open Table because the wait was out the door and we got right in!
Our service was excellent. The Ukulele player was very enjoyable.
Food was great
Noise level was loud
Server was ok
Love the food, Mai Tais and live music.
I love Monkeypod and so glad it's on Ka'anapali!!! Worth driving to Wailea but ghb lad I don't have to now :)
Best dinner experience in Ka’anapali. Plenty of space between tables, very tasty food, great service. We had an excellent table and the view is amazing. Well done. Going back again tonight as it was so good.
Great food and ambiance! The pizza is amazing and the Mai Tai’s are quite the treat! We could not have asked for a better waitress.
Anniversary dinner! Hooked us up with a free slice of pie. Staff was great, definitely a great spot!
This place is fantastic and ticks all of the boxes. Awesome menu and excellent service. I've already recommended it to several people.
We made our reservation a day in advanced with good promises that this is the spot to go too. Although the food was wonderful the service was not up to par. We were here on our honeymoon and had simply requested a nice table preferably in a quieter or nicer location. There was plenty of good seating at the time so we didn’t think our request was too much. Seems to me our hostess took more effort in seating those without reservations in a nicer area than us but regardless we still had a good meal.
Exceptional food and service
Ahi poke tacos were out of the world
Diverse menu, solid food, reasonable prices, friendly service and an energetic modern space. Unlike some other popular places, Monkeypod does not overbook reservations, so if you have a reservation, they will be honored and if you’re early for your reservation or don’t have one, they will try to accommodate you.
