Monkeypod Kitchen by Merriman - Whalers Village
Great dinner with my better half and in-laws. Made dinner reservations only hours prior on a Friday and they accommodated my special requests no problem. The gentleman singing and playing his guitar for everyone was great and so talented. Really added something special. A perfectly curated menu with something for everyone. Best mai tai in Maui, hands-down. The front desk staff is sweet as pie and the servers and bartenders were personable and on top of their game. Jen was our server, she is very warm and attentive and knows the menu very well. Definitely a memorable experience. Thank you guys.
Great service and good food. It's busy for a reason.
Party of nine......our servers were friendly and very attentive. Ordered tons of appetizer, all are excellent. Portions are big, we were all full after topping off with the pies.....the best there is. Drinks were tasty and cold. The solo musician played songs from the 70, 80’s.....,enjoyed the night here.
Food was amazing! Mai tais were amazing as well...great place for happy hour and you cant beat the views!
Ordered the potstickers for appetizer- delicious! Pork tacos- amazing! Proletariat pizza- also amazing! I don't think you could go wrong with any of the dishes.
A great place to watch the sunset and listen to some music. Jalapeño mashed potatoes are worth the visit on their own. Enjoy!
Beautiful location and very lively. Some may want to sit further away from the bar nose wise. Wonderful food, good selection and well prepared. Second or third there and same rating applies
Loved Monkeypod in Ko Olina last year and love the Monkeypod in Whaler's Village in Maui. Great food and service.
Great drinks, top notch food and the live music was perfect touch. Great place to watch the sunset too!
This is my favorite restaurant in Maui. Second time here this week and also went to beachhouse restaurant in Kauai, their sister restaurant. I’m obsessed with their mai tais, poke tacos, and lobster pizza!
Great drinks. Good food- we had the specials, which they seem to encourage over their somewhat limited regular menu. The ambience is more touristy than the one down in Wailea, but not surprising due to its busy location on the Ka’anapali boardwalk. The best bet in Whaler’s Village.
Amazing! We can’t wait to return.
Really enjoyed the music too.
Our server; Matthew was great. Food was delicious!
Absolutely great food and service!!! I’ve been to many, many places that claim to have the best mai tai but they’re all too sweet and have stuff come from pre mixed bottles, but they make there mai Taos w all natural ingredients n top it w a passion fruit foam that cuts the sweet n it’s a perfect blend! And I loved that happy hour is throughout the whole restaurant for those, like us who have kids can also enjoy it.
Our only complaint is it’s definitely warm inside, even though it’s all open...the hot air gets stuck even w the big fan. But once u get acclimated to the warm temps, everything else is great!! :)
My rib eye special was perfectly prepared and, sorry Trader Vics, but there is a new Mai Tai champion of the world. Memorable meal all the way around.
Bernadette was a Great server.
Even though we were an hour late, due to traffic, we still got seated within 10 minutes!
Everything was amazing!!!!
Nice restaurant, good food. Only issue is we had requested ocean view. Told us we would have to wait 45-60min. And when they sat us, there were tables that were ocean side that were not occupied.
Recommend “IF” you like crowds and noise. I didn’t enjoy the ambiance at all. Too noisy, crowded and we couldn’t hear each other talk. Just not my scene.
Drinks were just OK, a bit small for the price. The food was very good, but expensive.
The on,y eepimg me from returning is the crowd and noise. Not my style.
Celebrated an engagement and had the family style meal. Fabulous!
Pork tacos are the best!!
Just okay. 30 plus draft beers helps make it okay.
Food & dessert were good. Our server was sweet, but noise level was bad & it was really, really hot & uncomfortable .
Monkeypod Kitchen is a must try! It was delicious with a unique menu. I highly recommend the gnocchi. It was fabulous!! Of course the mai tai never disappoints!!
Very good food. Competent waiter. Nice atmosphere.
Amazing meal and service, Bridget was incredible and never made us feel rushed she had everything perfectly paced. Food was great too. But honestly, if service was not good we probably could have found faults with the food but between the perfect sunset and awesome service from Bridget, everything was 5 star.
Fantastic service. Very good, inventive fresh food. We’ll be back.
No waiting with reservations, great view of the beach,
Very nice wattres, fast t service and great food
We love monkeypod! Service was not good last night. We have been here a bunch of times, even ate here on Thanksgiving a few years ago. Very disappointed!
The pork tacos were delicious.
Fabulous food, superior service and beautiful setting.
We had potstickers , ravioli and a beet salad. The mai tais were amazing!!
Nice causal dining by the beach
Before we went to Maui for the first time, several friends suggested Monkeypod and they were not wrong! We had a surprisingly sophisticated meal in their casual beachfront setting, all for a good price. The inventive menu had something for everyone, all in comforting portions and at fair prices (for Hawaii). Everything was tasty, but the charred Brussels sprouts were a real standout. Great smokey flavor. They are SO busy there always, especially for dinner, ESPECIALLY on a weekend. It wasn't hard to get a table, but it was kinda hard to have any kind of normal attentiveness from the waitstaff. Understandable, but still, for the price, folks should be checking in to refill water on the regular at least — especially when it's hot! Even when we asked for a couple of things (catsup, salt), no one ever returned. We'd still go back for sure. The food is worth it.
Reception needs some work as they are the 1st impression the customer experiences
A number of girls standing at the hostess desk but you dont know who to follow. The pass off should be friendly and helpful.
That said, our waitress made up for this!
Food - great.....try the tacos and finish with the strawberry pie
Waitress - awesome
Music - perfect
Best Mai Tais on the island. Diverse menu that appeals to all.
Expected more cause of all the hype I heard. Easily one of the more expensive meals and drinks we had during the week and nothing any more special than some of the similar restaurants like Hula Grill. Made a reservation long in advance but didn’t get the table we requested. Service very slow and ran out of the dish I wanted and it was only 5:30 pm on a Wednesday. Not going to do a repeat.
We had our best dinner for our vacation. look forward to returning next year.
Best Mai Tai in Maui
Last night of our vacation. Came to share a pizza and have our favorite cocktails. Had the shrimp pizza. Wonderful. The Mai Tai and No Ka Oi were superb. Unfortunately the service wasn’t great. Didn’t see our server much. Ran out of water numerous times. We had eaten here 3 other times and service was great. Not sure what was up with Justin.
