Could not have been happier with our meal and experience. For some reason we hadn’t been in a long time. Forgot how great they are. It was it was our anniversary dinner and they had special treatment for us. Not over the top but very much appreciated! Our meals both required different cooking times and yet it all perfectly timed!. Will be back very soon
The food and service were great. They also respected the request I'd made when I booked my reservation.
Good food good service nice sitting on the patio bah bah bah
we are regulars at the monkey cat. Usually the service is outstanding, but for this dinner, it felt off. Still It is a great place to go because it is so local. We will come back.
Our waitress Elaine was exceptional. She didn't hurry us but was attentive when we were ready and she made a fabulous martini. We will ask for her the next time we go to dinner. This is our new favorite place to eat. The food was wonderful as was the atmosphere.
Seated at a nice table immediately, good food and service. We enjoy the restaurant
It was my third time dining at Monkey Cat. The first time was when they had just opened and didn't have their liquor license yet. Then I took my fiance' for Valentines Day and it was such a nice experience that I took him there for his birthday last Monday. They did an amazing job and I'm not a foodie, but recognize good quality cooking, when I see and taste it.
Excellent service. Seated early. Entrees were generous in proportion and quite delicious.
My wife and I love your restaurant. We always ask for Gabby because she is so helpful! My wife loved the Dream Sickle orange and pineapple drink so much, she had two.
Just want to give a shout out for Erica, our waitress! She is the absolute best. Efficient, friendly and more. :)
Waitress was not informed. When asked questions about the menu it was phrased, “I think..., it’s been a long time....”
This was our "round two" for birthday celebration. We dined here a month prior for my wife's birthday. Dinner was great, therefore, we returned to celebrate my birthday there. We requested a window seat via Open Table, and were seated at the same table as our prior visit. We ordered a different dinner than what we had dined on during the previous visit. Just as good as the last time. Would we return here again? Yep....
Great restaurant, love coming back, every time is a great experience, food, menu and service
This was our first visit to Monkey Cat and it was terrific! The fish (corvina sea bass) was done to perfection. Most restaurants either over cook or under cook fish but this was exactly right. The seafood pasta dish was also delicious. I enjoyed the variety of local beers on tap and my wife enjoyed the specialty cocktail menu. Our waiter recommended the limoncello cake for dessert and it was excellent - light and moist - a perfect dessert. We also appreciated the fact that it was quiet enough to talk. Highest marks. We will definitely be back and bring friends with us.
Had dinner before the Auburn Symphony concert.
Service was very good. Food was very good.
Good restaurant.
Excellent food and outstanding service. We had a cozy booth and since we were before the busy evening crowd it was quiet and romantic for a couple of old folks. It was my wife's birthday and they surprised us with a complimentary desert. Thank you for making our night out special.
Everything was perfect for our 48th wedding anniversary.
This is our favorite go-to restaurant because it's local, it's reliably delicious, we are always treated very nicely, and it just satisfies the event for all occasions and just a night away from the kitchen. I would definitely recommend it if you're going to be in Auburn.
Crab sandwich tasted fishy. Not so fresh. Salad dressing too much vinegar. Not my best lunch there
This is a great restaurant, service and food are outstanding.
5 of us enjoyed a Saturday night dinner at Monkey Cat. The restaurant was full, but the noise level still allowed good conversation. All of the main courses we had were quite good and reasonably priced., but our one appetizer, calamari, was overly-breaded and not particularly tasty. Both desserts were excellent. It's a pretty decent place to go out to!
We were there for our anniversary and we couldn't have been happier. The service is always exceptional as well as the food. We had the salmon and the seafood pasta. The seafood was fresh and plentiful. The pasta was cooked to perfection. The salmon had a glaze on it that melted in your mouth. It was also cooked to perfection.
We have taken friends there previously and they are always impressed with the food and excellent service.
Had heard about this place from multiple people and was not disappointed. Great food and our server Shannon gave excellent service, super attentive
We've dined here before in the past during the lunch hour some years back. We were disappointed with our dining experience at another restaurant on Valentine's Day the prior week. I wanted to find another dining spot to celebrate my wife's birthday. Remembering Monkey Cat, and reviewing their menu offerings, we decided to celebrate there. Having had good experience with the service, we booked a reservation through Open Table. When we arrived on the day of the reservation, the greeting restaurant staff member granted our request for seating next to the front window where we could view the snow activity. We had questions regarding the menu. The waitress was excellent in providing information and suggestions, some of which we accepted. We ordered their house Cabernet at "Happy Hour." It was first rate. Usually we order one appetizer or none, but this evening we requested calamari and wonton. Both excellent. My wife and I had Chicken Cordon Blu (spelling?). I had had the same dinner at the previous restaurant not mentioned here. Compared to the former, the offering we ordered at Monkey Cat was far superior, and a dinner we both enjoyed. My wife was so impressed, she insist we come back again for a return dining engagement.
Excellent service and great food throughout
The Monkey Cat staff made my husband feel special on his birthday and accommodated the private seating we asked for. The food was wonderful, the prices are competitive, and our waitress was attentive yet gave us privacy as well. Wonderful place, would recommend it to anyone!
This was suppose to be a Birthday surprise for my daughter-in-law who got sick and couldn't make it to dinner but my son went with us anyway and it was a very delightful dinner. The duck was wonderful and the apple brie crostini's were put of this world. Our waitress was very sweet and cordial. Since I was fasting on liquor for Lent I couldn't have a cocktail or wine but my husband and son liked what they got. We will certainly come again and bring guests with us.

The food was fantastic, the service impeccable, and our family, who only get together once a year if we’re lucky, all had a wonderful time!
Thanks to all!
Hands down one of our favorite restaurants. We live in Auburn and love this place. It is quaint and has amazing food. The drinks are handmade and are just as amazing
The staff are always friendly and know just when to check on us without being overwhelming.
This place is a gem.
Celebrated Valentines Day with a delicious dinner at the Monkey Cat; the service was outstanding and everything was enjoyed in a quiet and cozy little back room. Very romantic!
The food was outstanding and the staff was exceptional. Very friendly and excellent service.
Nice choices on menu. Food had good flavor and nicely presented. Service severely detracted from experience. Server not friendly or helpful. No apology for mistake in order.
Lots of onions in the veggie stir fry
Great dining experience with my family! Excellent service, friendly staff!!!
Monkey Cat is usually our go to restaurant in Auburn. The other night (Saturday) we arrived and were seated immediately but our waitress didn't make contact for over 10 minutes. No water, no drinks, nothing for over 10 minutes. Service is everything in the food biz! I was disappointed and so were the people I was with that night.
Excellent service and food. The short ribs melts in your mouth. The server always had a smile. Nice....
We were in Auburn to visit friends and had dinner here. Fabulous place! Friendly staff, great service, creative and delicious food! The entire dining experience was wonderful! We will be back, when we are in the area!
Ugly dark décor. Food not good. Scallop had no flavor and in a bowl of noodle soup. Noodles gummy and undercooked. Also had chicken cordon blue. Again no flavor. Used lunch meat ham. Definitely not worth the $100.00 we paid after the tip.
Will not return!!!
Very nice, we go there for our anniversary every year.
This is such a great restaurant. I don’t know why I don’t go more often but after visiting this time I will plan to be bringing a lot of my friends here. The service was wonderful and friendly and the food was outstanding. We had the lamb shanks a special of the night which were spectacular. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone whether it’s for a special occasion or just a nice night out.
