Service slow but rushed if such a thing. Rarely checked in and was rushed when she did. I think adding an extra server on Saturday nights would serve everyone better. Drinks were great and creative. Sushi was fresh and tasty. fun ambiance.
Very unique and incredible sushi. Great cocktails. Ambience in the rooms near the bar are great. I didn’t think it was loud in there as I had read in other reviews and it was crowded. Very professional service.
Noise level high —- need waiters to speak louder and more clearly ! Enjoyed the evening !
Entirely too noisy and not even that crowded. I hate the wine glasses!
Children in town.
Enjoyed another perfect evening last Saturday. The service was again a game changer. Intuitive.
Food initiative and tasty. Just a fun overall experience.
The sushi and fried rice was phenominal. Try the LOL roll.
Noise level too loud to enjoy conversation. xx----------------------------------------------------------------
The best sushi I have honestly ever had. The fish was extremely high quality. The combination of flavors were superb.
We had a large group and they were able to seat us nicely in a way we were able to chat. Was perfect for us to taste many of the dishes - all were delicious! We will definitely be going back!!!
Great food and service as always! The calamari is amazing.
I search cuisine like this out, and, just like a night behind closed doors, my better half was all "yeah... ok" on our way there, but left thrilled and excited.
The cocktails were inventive, the food was inspired, and that also might have been the best sushi roll I've eaten in a decade (the 68).
So glad we did this for our night out
As usual, Monkey68 delivers on all fronts. The beautiful plating and the savory taste only add to the great service and ambiance that is being provided at all times. If you happen to be lucky enough to come in at a time that Liem could be your server, then please do not miss out on the opportunity to have a great meal provided by someone who is extremely knowledgeable and passionate about Japanese cuisine. Will definitely be returning in the near future!
Best food, best staff, best drinks, best ambiance.
Let me first start off by stating I HATE writing reviews like this. I live in the Roswell area and prefer to frequent local businesses. There's lots of really good restaurants in this area and unfortunately this isn't one of them :-(. Booked reservation for party of 2 for a special occasion on Saturday. Valet lot was full so had to park quite a distance away. No biggie. We were promptly seated at a corner table in the upstairs dining room. Lots of selections on the menu and waitress was friendly. Ordered two apps, sashimi platter, nigiri platter, roll, and a couple glasses of wine. Here's what you need to REALIZE - the kitchen is tapas style so every portion is 1/2 size of other comparable fusion Asian restaurants. $15 ribs (appetizer) are barely adequate for one person. Sashimi and nigiri was fresh and tasty however two pieces of sashimi here are equivalent to one elsewhere. Wine selection is totally uninspiring and pours are very skimpy. Service was commendable and we were not rushed. That's positive. Not a chance in hell to hold a conversation without seriously having to raise your voice as the place is EXTREMLY LOUD. Stone floors and walls so sound bounces everywhere. Lots of tables packed into the floorspace also contributed to this. Lastly, NO RECOGNITION of special occasion although it was noted in reservation and communicated to hostess. With as many restaurants choices out there this is without a doubt a SKIP. Bill was $145 sans gratuity and we left wanting more food (we're not big eaters either). Sad, sad experience.
The food, servers and atmosphere were fantastic! The only downfall.... entirely too too noisy. We could not even hear our server or each other speak. 😔
Bottom line, it's very good option for sushi in the area, however some missed details that does not make this place a premier place for dining in metro Atlanta. If you want to present a stature like other premier restaurants in metro Atlanta, you can't miss the small details when it comes to fine dining. Yes Monkey68 is a casual, fun environment but the prices can be aligned with some of Atlanta's bigger and more expensive establishments.
Unfortunately, the value does not meet expectations when aligned with the price points. Yes sushi in general is an item that you will overpay for but the prices here did not match the quality, service and, frankly, the hype. Management was not very caring about the missed details, that was a HUGE disappointment.
While our server was very nice she forgot some details which I will inform management about privately. If we return, we won't use the valet, it was a disaster getting out of the place. They had only one guy working on a Saturday night is not good (nice guy but had his hands full). Not sure if that's on the restaurant or the valet company, but either way that was a big mistake. A small lot for valet plus entrances/exits not wide enough for two cars = bad situation.
Here's the F&B breakdown:
Bar service: very quick and to expectations
Dumplings: tasty but nothing special that you haven't had before
Selfie roll: very fresh & vibrant but did not come across as one-of-a kind
Sex on the beach: best of the pack, spicy tuna did not disappoint
Double decker: a bit heavy and hard to eat once it was sitting on our table
Whoa-cano: wife loved it
So basically 2 of 4 rolls were very good, 1 was good, 1 was not.
Phenomenal food and cocktails! Ambience was wonderful. Would definitely visit again for special occasion!
Monkey 68 is fantastic. It's a bit noisy but it's worth that! One of our favorite restaurants!
The food quality was excellent but the noise level was almost intolerable and our mains came out in sequence well before our appetizers.
While the food was good, the pricing is fairly high for the portions. They consider them small plates to share, which I enjoy, however I did not consider the quality high enough for the cost per portion. Some of the dishes lacked the level of flavor/spice I would expect from the descriptions.
Everything was outstanding- Chef is incredible as was our server.
Love the sushi, best around. The bang bang shrimp is excellent as is all the food
Wonderful experience. Will definitely be back. Very interesting and tasty cocktails. Food was awesome. A little slow on the delivery of food but it was busy. Not too bad though to warrant a mention. Employees were so awesome.
The ambience we enjoy, the food and drinks great...but this time service was very slow. It was crowded that night, but we had never experienced such a delay in service at the table as we did that Wednesday...we had friends with us for the first time there and we were just sorry it took so long to get our food.
I was here with my 13 year old son on a date. The service was great. Our server Hara l am not sure if I'm spelling it correctly was super courteous and accommodating. We had a great time.
Love the food and the restaurant. Best to sit on first level instead of lower level. The bottom level is not as cozy, very echo-y, etc. Outside seating is great when not 90+ degrees. The sushi is phenomenal though
The lower room had a musky smell. The food took a while to be delivered, other than that - we love this place and have told several people about it.
Our waitress made great recommendations, especially the Monkey 68 platter. It was great. Fresh, creative and just right for a couple. Loved the waffle desert with ice cream and berries.
This was our last hurrah at the end of the summer before the kids went back to school. It was an interesting and eclectic place with excellent sushi and a creative craft cocktail menu! Service was wonderful and the staff genuinely seemed to care about the patrons. We found the menu to be a little on the high priced side, but the sushi is as fresh as can be and the chef seems to be an expert. Impressive.
Great food and atmosphere! We were a group of 5 and our waiter took amazing care of us.
I would have to say that this is the best sushi in North Fulton. Go with the suggestions from the server for a little taste adventure. A little pricey, but worth it! Highly recommend
Absolutely fantastic. Culinary creativity that is rare to find in Roswell, or in ATL in general. There clearly is a lot of passion, talent, and training in this place. These New Yorkers were blown away.
Food was great! Probably best sushi we have had in the city. Very fresh as well. Ambiance was great too! Food service was good, but drink service was a little slow. Had to ask several times about our drinks. Regardless, we will definitely routine and make it a common place for sushi! Will definitely recommend to other people too!
The sushi was amazing and we loved the Crouching Tiger drink. Cute atmosphere. We loved the recommendations our server had for us. We will definitely be back.
Fabulous - innovative menu with great service and variety!
Everything was delicious. Did not like the nose level however everything else is delicious. Would definitely go back
The sushi was fantastic and our waitress gave us great recommendations based on what we described we wanted! Loved the ambiance as well!
Loved our server, loved the food!
Loved Monkey 68. The food was wonderful, the ambiance is outstanding and what a great job they did with the décor. A very enjoyable evening.
