Overall we enjoyed our dinner. Waiter was a lil late with dinner but made up for it by comping our drinks. Food was good along with the music. Note they open at 5pm but you cant order dinner until 6pm. If you have back problems dont sit at a high table, tall chairs are brutal.
Just one great place for breakfasting or lunching with a friend. Just found out they also take reservations (needed for weekend's brunch) A large step up for a comfortable gathering with friends.
service was sooo slow and they really were not that busy
As always, food was good. I had the skirt steak dinner and it was good! Other members of my party had the fried chicken and they liked it as well. The music was okay that night. Service was a bit slow, especially considering they weren’t that busy when we were there. Slow service seems to be the norm with Monica’s. But, Overall good.
Nice branch location and the food was great
Weather was perfect to sit outside (flies were a bother, but that's to be expected). Food was very good, a little pricey (but everything is now). Enjoyable birthday lunch!
The waitress was nice and she was working hard on a lot of tables. Our orders came out 10-15 minutes apart and two of them were incorrect. Very frustrating experience.
We always have a great time and meal here. The service however isn't always the greatest.
Wonderful lunch, excellent food throughout whole menu!
Great atmosphere. Friendly/helpful people working there. Monica is great! Love her and everything about the place and the food that is served there.
Our server, Osiris, was awesome
Went for breakfast. Asked for biscuit instead of toast with my classic breakfast and when the biscuit came it was as hard as a rock. Told staff and was brought another that was obviously just microwaved and was just as dry and was still charged 1.50 extra. Portions seem to fluctuate, the two other people in my party had a considerably larger portion of hash browns. Service was good.
Very solid spot for lunch...nice options on the menu. We sat outside on the patio and even though it was a rainy cold day, the heaters made it very comfortable. I would definitely come back here again.
I hosted a senior men's group regular luncheon here because, well, I've been wanting to try it. Turns out that several of the gents also wanted to try it. We ate outside on the covered patio. I had the Crab San (not "sandwich, but "san") which was excellent. Came with a choice of side dish -- I had a salad. Others had the Impossible Burger, ruben, french dip... some had beer, I chose a diet cola. Our waitress was excellent! Prices were a little high, but not outrageous. Ambience very good. As we were leaving Monica herself was there to ask us how things were and we were happy to give her a thumbs up. Recommended.
Loved our food. Loved our service. I’ll be back again that’s for sure.
Items on the menu such as the Crab sandwich do not have prices and do not explain market price. I was upset that the price was $22.00! Servers should be explaining this to the customers and it should be on the menu. Lunch for two with tip $61.00! That’s for two crab sandwiches, fries, soda, Arnold Palmer and tip!
I've been here before and enjoyed it, but my most recent Sunday brunch was a disaster. The food took forever and my friend's eggs came out raw. I ordered huevos rancheros that only had about 6 black beans mixed into it, even though that's supposed to be a main component of the dish. Our server vanished after the food was delivered (she was helpful about replacing the raw eggs once we finally tracked her down).
When I arrived I told the hostess my name and that we had a reservation. She initially told me it would be about 5 minutes to a get a table but then she asked me my name again 45 seconds later and then told me it would be half an hour. When I reminded her of our conversation from less than a minute prior, she asked me my name yet again and then seated us after all. That encounter nicely summarized the disorganized mess our brunch turned out to be.
Delicious as always! Very accommodating staff.
Food was good, although for having a reservation I believe they should have been more prepared. 5 people is a group they could have been smarter preparing for. There were a few tables that could have accommodated us better but we were placed at a square table so 2 of us had to share a side. There were tables there that were rectangle where 2 could be on each side and one on the end. It was funny how those tables were taken, but with only 3 or 2 adults sitting on them.
Food was food, and serving size was a good value. I’d go back again though, it’s a quality breakfast place in Livermore.
I absolutely love this downtown Livermore restaurant! Everything about it is a “feel good”. I like to introduce people to this restaurant as well as have lunch with locals. Guaranteed to jplease!
Food taste was very good and a lot of options for breakfast. Service was a little clunky but overall not terrible.
This was my second time at Monica's for lunch. Making a reservation is a life saver. This time we tried the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich and the Reuben. Very generous portions, so we had lunch for the next day as well. We'll be back to try breakfast next.
The food was really good. We Were there at 11:00 on a week day for lunch before the rush. Disappointed on the service the waitress brought our food out and we didn't see her till she brought the bill. I had to Get-up-and-get my own silverware and napkins. I hope the service is better next time I go.
Food is delicious and fresh, came quickly. Excellent but not overbearing service. We sat on the patio, which has heaters, and were very comfortable.
It was my third visit and we definitely love Monica’s. I suggest to make a reservation it makes your experience much better.
This was my 3rd visit to Monica's and I will be back again next time I am in town. Has become a favorite of mine and my family. Now it isn't where we want to go to eat, it is when are we going to go to Monica's? Crab sandwich, crab Benedict and the patty melt were all great!
Overall it was a good experience. They got part of my order wrong, but it was corrected immediately.
I will return again.
Fortunately I read a couple of reviews before deciding on Monica's and made reservations in advance for an early lunch. They filled quickly after we arrived. The wait staff was attentive, but not over bearing. There were lots of tempting items on the menu so it took us a little while to decide and both decided on the Crab San' one with a side salad and the other with sweet potato fries. The portions were generous and reasonably priced. We could have split the sandwich since we each took half home, but it was just as yummy later. Will definitely be back. A shout out to our patient waiter Andrés who took good care of us.
The outside is very loud and difficult to hear. The inside was very Smokey from the kitchen. The food was great especially the desserts.
Although we had a reservation, we had to stand and wait a good while as walk ins were seated first because the iPad for check ins was dead. Our server was polite but our luck for timely service didn't improve during our visit. While were still waiting to receive our check, different staff kept coming by our table but sadly only to take chairs or condiments even though there were other empty tables. We were never even offered a refill. The food was good though!
We love Monica’s! The food is great and the ambiance is wonderful. Monica is always there and talks to all the patrons and even waits on them. She’s passionate about the restaurant which is really cool to see
Very clean & cute seating area. This was our second time there and service so slow both visits (breakfast & lunch hour). Took 30 min to get a macha tea while rest of table got their coffee in approx 15 min from order time at table. Food good value & taste. My opinion is if service was better the line for tables wouldn't be such a wait.
Enjoyed our first visit to Monica’s for breakfast!
Service was attentive and accommodated our special dietary needs! Food was delicious!
The food here is delicious! This is now my second time and it was as good as I remembered. It’s a bit noisy inside. I had to lean forward and speak at a higher volume to have a conversation with my husband. The patio may be a little better but it was cold and I didn’t want to be out there.
The service is great. I had questions and our waiter was able to answe them easily and provide recommendations. Also paying is really quick and easy as they do it electronically tableside!
Great service and great food what more could you want
I just think 25 minutes is a little long to wait for your order otherwise it was just OK nothing great
great place to socialize, amazing food, great new place for livermore
Finally got into Monica's for breakfast but by making a reservation on the patio. They had the patio covered which was nice for comfort but acoustically terrible. Hard to hear a conversation. Our waiter was slightly rude which I don't care for. My food came out late out of the three meals and was wrong and undercooked. They somehow were able to quickly remake my meal which was fine but the food is sub-par. Flavor was flat and lacked seasoning. I tried my friend's french toast and that was the only decent meal out of the three. I would rather eat elsewhere. I was super disappointed.
Third try and we will officially never go back. Nearly two hours for food and 30 mins before our drink order was even taken. When food finally arrived, it was freezing cold and the hash-browns were uncooked. The staff is nice and the ambiance is great, but they clearly cannot handle service for a crowd (it was not even crowded...). It was the same our first two visits, but we figured those were growing pains for a new business. Nope, it's just as awful nearly a year later. It's too bad, though; the owner seems sweet and the food could be good if it were served warm. Head over to The Brick Cafe instead.
