Always amazing - food, service & ambiance.
Unique menu and lovely service...very friendly and caring staff
From the apps to desserts and in between, exquisite. We had portabello fritti and porchetta wrap. Along with a reasonably priced Chianti the meal was off to a fantastic start. For entrees I had the parm wheel pasta. Fantastic. CHEESEY gooey delicious. Dessert was tiramisu and panicotta. It was so awesome. Everything, so awesome.
Great food- pasta is tender and delicious, pizza is wonderful. They do a great job!
Quick service and very knowledgeable and friendly wait staff. The prosciutto was to die for. Will definitely be back!
Too noisy. I can barely hear my spouse or the waiter.
My husband and I were in town and Monello was a recommended place to check out. So glad we did! The service was good, the food was excellent! Highly recommend it and would go back!
The food was delicious and the service was great!
The food was delicious and the ambiance very lively. One of our group members got the infamous “cheese wheel pasta” which she adored! Great for a night out in Little Italy!
great authentic Italian food, homemade pasta. great service. Paul, the manager, always goes out of his way to make the meal as great as it can be.
Staff was great. Wine and beer was great. My dining companions pizza was great but reported to be very salty. My entree, pasta and clams, was bland and very salty I would not order that again. Tiramisu was good, has whole walnuts in it...unusual, wouldn't order again. Gelato, icy, wouldn't order again. The service was excellent (best we've had in San Diego), because of this we will try the restaurant again, maybe we just didn't order the right items.
Great food! Not as kid friendly. A little loud.
Food was wonderful however waiter had a attitude and it felt as if I was bothering him. I did not inform the manager as I was with family. If I do go back I will bring it to there attention.
Cheese wheel pasta delicious!
The fresh pasta & service, everything about this place makes it perfect for any occasion and I’ll keep coming back!
This was the best Italian food I've ever had! By far the best service (Annabelle), staff, ambience in Little Italy. The cheese wheel risotto was to die for! Their happy hour is free apps that come with any drink ordered and they are delicious options off the full menu! Can't wait to go back
Disappointed by the food. It was okay not great. Waiter was not really helpful in the selections and service was far from great. It was worth a try but very unlikely to return.
The food never disappoints! Knowledgable staff are always friendly and I love bringing out of town visitors to this spot.
The service was very good, as was the food. I highly recommend the risotto that is made tableside.
The pasta in the cheese wheel was fantastic. Everything we’ve had here and at Bencotto has been delicious. A great addition to San Diego
The price and the quality of the food did not match up. The food was very basic and not a lot of taste, but very expensive. I would not recommend this restaurant.
Dining was such a grand experience last Friday when the highlight was to be a concert at Symphony Hall! It all came together perfectly, and we had a lovely dinner and time spent there. You added a beautiful San diego sunset, too!
Very dependable food and service, especially for a business meal.
Fantastic food and great service
The ossobuco was perfect, the sign of an authentic Italian restaurant. Great service in an establishment apparently dedicatd to good food prepared with a creative hand.
Not as good the second time around. Food was wrong for my wife and my git cold waiting. My spaghetti and meatballs were tasteless
A new favorite! One of the best all-around dining experiences to date, from attentive service, exceptional charcuterie, pasta, dessert, cocktails and ambiance.
Annabelle was our server and she was amazing! Went for the Wednesday cheese bowl risotto special and of course, it was delicious! Love this place, the food, and the employees.
By far the BEST fried zucchini I have ever had. Excellent flavors and service. Will definitely be returning!
Wine selection was large with a good variety. My dish of bone marrow and pasta was not as flavorful as I had hoped. End up sending it back to the kitchen after two bites . Waiter was very understanding , offered to replace my meal with another option. My husband’s lobster and pasta was good but didn’t wow us. Cheese and meat platter was well presented with quality product. Overall service was wonderful but I wish the food was better .
It was lovely. Food was fantastic. The pasta in the cheese wheel with mushrooms was delicious. We were in a tiny table in the corner but service was great and we had a wonderful experience
The parking is terrible, especially for a disabled person. The food was delicious but sparse, especially for the cost.
Our server Megan was delightful, bright, and attentive! Thanks Megan!
The hostess very rude by been on phone as we enter and not greet us properly. She tried to seat us while also been on phone and we had to repeat our names at least twice to her while on phone. I had made reservations on open table for three people. We were taken our seats by a waitress, the table we were taken two was very small and we requested a bigger table. We pointed to one and was told it was reserved be that there was know one else there at 4:00 pm on a Saturday and no one ever showed up while we were there the whole time. As our food arrived we really couldn’t enjoy from the cold a/c blown directly over us making our pasta, and pizza cold. So really after cold food we couldn’t really enjoy it was time to go. So I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone. It’s over priced and the people really weren’t that welcoming from the start.
The most amazing home made Italian food. And the cheese wheel was insane!!
This restaurant has declined over the past two years. The quality of the food was disappointing as compared to prior visits. Appetizers were good, but the Spaghetti a la Vongole tasted like iodine and the tiramisu was splashed with alcohol to the point where it was soggy. It seems to me that the portions have increased in size at the expense of the quality.
I was greatly looking forward to monello after a friend had recommended me. My boyfriend and I wanted to come here for Valentines Day. That was our first mistake. They offered a special Valentine’s Day menu which most places do, however it seems they raised their prices for this event which made me upset and not excited to be spending so much. Especially since I looked at their regular menu and noted that the pricing seemed reasonable. Second, what Italian place doesn’t serve bread as an appetizer?! They gave us Lima Beans. Yeah. Not worth the price we paid for the pasta.
Super overpriced for what you get (especially the wine selection). Enjoyed the food and atmosphere but unfortunately will not be going back.
V-day dinner date.
I’ve been here a million times and I keep coming back. Love this place!
