Monarch Prime and Bar
Our food took over an hour before it came. The pork shoulder entree was an absolute rip off!!! The portion size was so small even if a child ate it they would leave hungry. The food there is overpriced and lacking... Mahogany Steakhouse is a much better choice!
Steaks are roasted not grilled but very lean if you like that. Anytime they recommend medium rare that translates into chewy which they were. Very expensive.
Expensive but worth the cost every once in a while. Great quality food, masterful flavor combinations and pairings, and interesting options.
Excellent, creative food along with wonderful service. Clearly at the top of the high end Omaha food scene.
You need to understand this is going to be expensive. Similar to the original French Cafe, only better.
Delicious Brunch, moody and colorful atmosphere, impeccable service. Excited to try dinner at this lovely restaurant.
We always pick a nice place that we haven’t been to, or been to often. Monarch was new to us and very nice. The wine prices start near the higher end of some other restaurants, but even those are very good. Portions are the right size and courses arrive at a good pace. Very friendly.
The hosts, server, and sommelier all went above and beyond to make my boyfriend’s birthday extra special. The chef’s tasting menu was incredible.
A charm in downtown, the decor is old time elegance.
We started with cocktails- the list is refreshingly creative. I had the Aviation & it was fabulous. Hubby got the Paloma & it was tasty. We got the 5 course chef’s tasting menu & all was amazing- every course was perfect. I highly recommend to pair with the reserve wine pairing. We will definitely be back.
Celebrated an early Father’s Day here and the staff was fantastic. The gentleman who helped us was very knowledgeable about the entire menu and helped us order fantastic selections and the perfect amount of food. The Bison carpaccio was an excellent way to start the meal and the ribeye entrees did not disappoint. Will recommend to friends and family traveling to Omaha in the future.
Service was fabulous, food was delicious and made from fresh ingredients. Very enjoyable lunch.
We did the five course chef’s menu and it was incredible. Service was impeccable, the manager is fantastic, and the ambiance is beautiful. Be prepared to spend some money here, but know that it will be totally worth it.
BEST steak in the country! You won’t be disappointed. It has such a romantic atmosphere & the drinks were amazing too. Highly recommend getting the Bison as the appetizer...it’s stellar!
My wife and I dined with my brother and his wife. The setting: superb. The food: excellent. The Morel Mushrooms were a welcome surprise. The Striploin was amazing as was the filet, sirloin and chicken. Chelsea was professional and personable. This is my 3rd time having her as our server and she never fails to deliver. Prices a tad high but I have been known to be a tad frugal.
Best meal I have ever eaten. Period
Awesome experience first time there and place to return soon
Husband’s birthday dinner was perfect! Melissa provided outstanding service and the food was perfect! Bison carpaccio to start is a must! Can’t wait to return for the Tomahawk Chop.
Great food Great Service. Started in the bar area and moved to our seats. Very welcoming.
The location to the Orpheum is very nice but I thought the prices were too expensive for what was served. I would find another place to eat the next time. Too bad there's not a Cheesecake Factory in downtown Omaha.
A wonderful pre Orpheum event venue! This was not my first visit & everything has always been consistent in excellence.
Disappointing. Ambience is outstanding, the service was "good," but the steaks were perhaps lukewarm when served. Our server apologized (*once we could get him to our table), but that was the extent of it.
We had a lovely evening and our server Michael was so great. I was a little disappointed that we were not seated at a more intimate special table. I made the reservation about a month before and stated that we were celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. We were seated in a table by the window on the upper level right at the top of the steps. It was fine but didn’t feel special and I felt that the hostess was unaware of why we were there, even though I added the comment on the reservation. But we will be back and the food was amazing. I will recommend this to our friends.
I want to just thank everyone that we interacted with last night celebrating a special birthday. The person that called us early about our special request in our reservation was very kind and gave us fair warning that the request wasn't something they could guarantee. We had missed the note on the menu that the tomahawk steak couldn't be reserved. The hostess that greeted us let us sit a little early and let us know right away the steak hadn't been ordered yet. It was so much fun to have the chef come out with the steak before it was cooked. He told the story of the tomahawk steak we were about to eat and the preparation it will go through. But by far the best part of the night, besides the juicy mouth watering steaks, was our amazing waiter Michael. His humor, kindness, and recommendations on the menu were a perfect compliment to the meal. He was laughing with us, told us a great joke about our hometown of Philly. Brought out a dessert with a candle to celebrate.
We had a truly wonderful time and can't thank you all enough for the perfect meal.
We tried the tasting menu paired with wine. Very nicely done and excellent pairing choices. Our waiter was attentive and the atmosphere was quiet elegance.
Great ambiance, good tasting food but extremely small portions for really high prices.
Gorgeous space and wonderful dining experience. Koty at the bar was really great for cocktails and conversation. And, Sean took such good care of us for dinner. His menu knowledge was incredibly impressive and made suggestions for us that really nailed it. Easily the best steak I've ever had in my entire life. Funk and Soul on the playlist made it all even better. Thanks to the Monarch crew for taking such good care of us!
We had a horrible experience, they were 20 minutes late seating us for our reservation. Then the bar was out of the ingredients for the first drinks we ordered, how can that be? Place was very loud, food was fine but very small portions and food came out very slowly. Then they only have 3 desserts and they were out of one of them. DON’T VALET PARK IF YOU GO THERE. The valet guy was on break when we went to leave and nobody at the front desk could assist so we had to wait 32 minutes to get our car! Absolutely ridiculous.
The quality of the food is Excellent. The reason we gave a 4 for ambiance is the lighting is so low we had to use flashlights on our phones to read the menu. (We have older eyes).
Food and wait staff was spot on. The bartender was slow at the bar and drinks came out slow to our table as well. In their defense, there was a big concert in town with lots of folks needing cocktails. :)
This was our first brunch at Monarch Prime and Bar and it didn't disappoint. Excellent service, wonderful food and a great experience.
Amazing dining experience!!! The food, the ambiance, our server!!! We went there to celebrate our anniversary and we couldn’t have had a more wonderful dinner anywhere else!!! Thank you!!!
The decor here is swanky and by far the best part of the experience. The service was really not good - for example bringing the steaks and then the side dishes 5 minutes later. Mistakes on the bill, food brought out at the wrong times. The ribeye was delicious so that was a positive point, but the special - a dry aged duck breast - was gamey and tough and not enjoyable. Very expensive for such a disappointing experience.
Great Wine, Amazing Steak, and you have to order The S’mores at the end of your meal. Will visit again soon.
Fillets and service were both very good. Good looking space. They were full on the night we visited, but the servers did a good job of keeping up. Would definitely go again.
It was very good but at these prices it should be exceptional
Nice setting, staff were good, food too salty or overloaded with mayo-based toppings
Ate at Monarch before a show at the Orpheum. Menu had a nice variety of options and the service was great. Our server explained the dishes and we had a great dinner! The items were a delight to the eye & palate, with some surprising twists. The menu was fresh and playful. My husbands meatloaf was more than simple meatloaf. The kale appetizer was fun, too. Very enjoyable experience. I would recommend that due to its proximity to the theater, they consider a prix fix pre-theater offering.
The service was fantastic!! I’m still tasting the bison carpaccio, 😄 jake and allll the staff that helped make our night a wonderful event and not just a” night out “
The food was excellent. When one of our party did not particularly care for just one item, the server and manager made sure to make it right, for the whole table! Overall, a lavish dining experience.
We enjoyed the resturant however the Halibut was very flat no taste the bison & filet very chewy taste good. Prices are were higher than other high end restaurants in downtown Omaha. All the veggies were excellent!!!
