Monarch Prime and Bar
Superb flavor, chef's taste menu is the way to go. We are already looking forward to returning and doing it again. 5 courses over about 1.5 hours. Small savory and delightful plates with massive flavors making you want more.
Cocktails were pricey and one special drink listed wasn't available. Also was offered sparkling water but was brought tap water. Two relatively small issues that should not detract from the phenomenal food and flavor experience.
First time dining at the Monarch and we loved it! Our waiter- Michael was outstanding! Food was very tasty and ambiance was cozy yet elegant.
Delicious great service and wonderful experience. The chef is creative and he made my night
Everything about our experience was amazing at Monarch. Highly recommend this place for wine and steak enthusiasts.
Our sever Chelsea was fantastic! We had the 5 course chef’s tasting and wine pairing and were not disappointed. Definitely will be coming back.
MEH. Bison carpaccio appetizer: A nice portion, but so overworked with other ingredients that you could not taste the meat. Dover sole in brown butter caviar sauce: the sauce itself was delightful by the spoonful, but way to over powering for the sole, of which there was only a tiny, cigarette box-sized piece. Wait staff was insistent, almost demanding, and all clearly had a script for the evening, which I kept hearing at the other tables, and was off putting. Not recommended.
Thee food was disappointing, especially for the price point. Will not return.
Great meal, service, atmosphere.
Get the chefs menu/pairing if they offer it. Great all around!
We love Monarch so much we came here to celebrate our engagement, just the two of us. We love the atmosphere and the staff here makes everyone feel special. The space is big enough to not feel cramped, but divided up enough into niches and different levels that it still feels cozy. The menu is extensive enough that everyone will be able to find something for their palate, but small enough that every dish is a specialty, with no padding. All the food we've had has been delicious, but you can't match a steak and the pommes purée for a first-time visit.
Cocktails are reasonably priced for a nicer place, and have a nice variety to them, with seasonal changes. You're paying a little more for the food, but you'll know it was worth it the second you take the first bite.
We had the WORSt service I have ever had at a restaurant. Waters were never filled, coffee was ordered and never brought. Waiter never checked back with us EVER! For this caliber of restaurant, excellent service is expected! I would not recommend or return when there are so many other steakhouse options in Omaha were you can get a great meal with exceptional service.
We had a reservation for 6:45. We didn’t leave until 9:45. This would have been fine if during that time we were offered drinks or cared for at all. It was the worst service I have had in a very long time. Luckily, the food was good once it actually arrived.
Big, big fan. The decor. The music. The attentive, knowledgeable, and fun staff. The thoughtfully conceived, complex yet incredibly balanced dishes. One of the better dining experiences my wife and I have had in many moons. I request the highest of fives. Special thanks to our server, Kylene. We’ll be back soon to soak it all in and to showcase my reflexes for the staff.
The tasting menu was a complete delight! Excellent service, wine and food!
We had the five course tasting menu and it was amazing! Every bite was absolutely divine! We added the wine pairing option and it truly took each course to another level in taste sensation. The course we liked the least was dessert. It was just meh in comparison to the previous courses. However that’s not unusual with an amazing chef; they tend to specialize in sweet or savory. It wouldn’t make me hesitate in the slightest to order the tasting menu again. It was an experience that shouldn’t be missed!!
The meal was delicious and the service was exceptional!
It was my best friend’s birthday. The food is amazing, service is great, awesome wine selection. A dining experience that takes a little longer than usual so make sure you have some time to savor it all.
Very personable service, outstanding food with a unique twist. Went prior to a show at the Orpheum Theatre with timely service.
Our reservation was at 6 and our show was at 7:30 across the street. We ordered fairly quickly yet we didn’t receive our main dishes until 7:10. To add to the frustration, one of our dishes were no longer warm by the time it was served to us. The space had a cool vibe to it, the food was disappointing, and the time it took to get our food was frustrating.
Birthday dinner and was great!
We enjoyed the food overall. The Kale and Blue cheese with bread was amazing as were the crispy fingering potatoes with Fresno Chilies. The steaks were good, but wouldn’t considering them in my top 5 of Omaha. I had the Prime Ribeye with white truffles and my wife had the Filet. Overall, a nice restaurant, but more expensive then some of the other Omaha establishments with a better steak.
The meal and the service were outstanding. The grilled and roasted radishes we're super, along with the chicken pate. Our wait peron, Melissa, was charming, informative, and very efficient. Kudos to her. Also the best Old fashioned I have had in a long time.
We thoroughly enjoyed our first experience here. Food was wonderful!
I partook of the ribeye for a lunch break one day. It was the most flavorful piece of aged beef that I have ever had. Cooked to perfection with perfect potatoes and roasted radishes. I'll definitely be back.
We had 5 adults for a siblings dinner. We did the chef’s tasting with the wine pairing. We were all thoroughly impressed with the food presentation and taste. It was a food and wine journey like no other. Everyone was raving about the meal the rest of the weekend and the wine choices were spot on. Lovely experience and looking forward to doing it again.
The food was delicious and the service was outstanding. Keep in mind it is very pricey, I would definitely recommend for a special occasion only. Overall great experience and I would definitely recommend!
We waited 35 minutes to get our table then another 15 for our waiter to stop by.. he was rude & didn’t speak
Loved the vibe but the food took 40 minutes too
Maybe retraining the staff would be great
Starting in the kitchen!
From the food to the wine everything was incredible. For an appetizer we had the Bleu Cheese and Kale and it was delightful, full of flavor. For dinner I had the scallops and they were the best scallops I have ever had in Omaha, tasted incredibly fresh. My boyfriend had the dry aged wagyu bolognese and I had one bite of it and it is the best bolognese I have ever had. The sommelier recommended the appetizer and the scallops and I am so happy that I went with his suggestions because they were so yummy and flavorful. The sommelier, Ryan, did a great job of picking our wine for the evening as well, he was able to bring a bottle that fit our specifications of what we were looking for and it was a great price point. We will definitely be dining here again.
My wife and I ate at Monarch to celebrate our anniversary. The food was amazing and service was top notch.
I had the 60 day dry-aged ribeye and it was outstanding. Cooked to perfection. My husband had the bison which was also delicious and cooked perfectly.
The wine menu is extensive with pricing on par with most high-end restaurants. We had a couple of Old Fashioned from the bar, which were very good.
Food was good just not enough of it. The price for the volume is too high.
We love, love this restaurant. The food as well as the experience is very special, making it clear that the staff works together as a cohesive team who loves what they do, and do it exceptionally well.
A great special occasion place. Expensive for Omaha but very good.
Get dinner to celebrate a special Anniversary.
Great place! The food is outstanding...every single bite! The four of us each got a different meal and we tasted all of them. So yummy. And the cocktails are divine!! They have their own signature cocktails, but you can ask for anything and the talented bartender will know how to craft it. We were here when it was a new establishment and the service was kind of clunky, but that is not the case anymore. We had such a great evening!
Awful service; sat for 1 hour waiting for appetizer: waitress forgot salad course; signature steak was terrible.
Music was blaring and our table was wedged between 2 others.
Incredibly irritating; wish we had walked out.
What a beautiful restaurant! While this was our first visit to Monarch, we had been several times to the space, visiting the 2 previous restaurants located there. We certainly hope Monarch stays around for a long time! The ambiance and atmosphere are lovely, with beautiful wall murals at one end. Colors are understated and elegant. We were there for brunch, so the menu was limited but the selections were creative, innovative and beautifully prepared. Everything was delicious! Our waiter was knowledgeable about the wines, and he was attentive without hovering! It is a wonderful restaurant - we will definitely return!
Great service and choice of fixed menu was perfect!
This was our second year at Monarch Prime for New Year’s Eve. Last year experience was exceptional and there were four of us. This year we brought 10 people. Our service was terrible. Our waiter never smiled and generally did not seem to want to be working. When we asked for additional water and additional menu the waiter and say well it’s down at the end of the table and not hand it to anybody or offer to get more water. Unfortunately we won’t be coming back for a New Year’s experience even though the food is amazing.
We visited Monarch based on a friends recommendation. Had the NYE Prefix menu so I was slightly disappointed but there were still interesting options.
I would say the food was mediocre. The presentation was pretty but for the price... it wasn’t mind blowing.
Fun to try somewhere new but this wouldn’t be my first on my list as a menu to revisit.
