Chicken Liver pate is divine. As is the Potato and Trout. The Wagyu Prime Rib is outstanding. Laura's service was top-notch. Will gladly recommend to any and all.
Excellent service, excellent food!!!
Fun place to have dinner & drinks with old friends.
Monarch is always fantastic. A little bit on the pricey side, but not enough to be a deterrent for a special date or anniversary. Or in my case, a just because fancy brunch.
Appetizers and sides were much better than entrees.
Enjoy the decor. A very intimate astomphere. Would go back
Our food was truly delicious but unfortunately we had poor service here.
The cocktails were fabulous. The challa bread was too dry but the homemade butter was amazing!! We did not get the appetizer we ordered. The steaks were AWESOME. The grilled asparagus was fabulous. I did not care for the fries which was a big bummer for me. They were curly fries and very hard and chewy. I couldn't eat them with my steak. The donut dessert with semifreddo was just amazing.
Our waitor unfortunately really affected our experience. It seemed like he didn't want to be there. He came across as uncaring and irritated. We tried to talk to him about the food and he would barely respond. We were sat right next to a speaker and the music was so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves. This started off our experience badly. They did turn it down for us but it still felt really loud.
I would be hesitant to recommend this place to friends only because of the poor service.
We had a great time at Monarch! It was my date and I's first time there, and all the waitstaff took excellent care of us. The menu is focused on the steak, as you would expect. Our waiter answered all of our questions and helped us pick drinks. I had the bison steak, which was excellent and very tasty, while my girlfriend had the very tender sirloin. The potato puree might be the best potatoes I've ever had!
The atmosphere was good, with comfortable seating and a nice conversational din. My only minor complaint is that our table for two was a little close to a table for four, and I did catch a bit of their conversation.
Highly recommend Monarch, it has the little touches that make a place special and encourage you to come back!
Foot was Great! The servers knew their stuff and we're good but very serious and robotic...not sure what that is about
Monarch is always a go to for a delicious dinner and bottle of wine. Atmosphere and service was great.
I would give them 10 stars in could. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! The bison tartare was inspired and delicious. The Wagyu Tomahawk Chop was the best steak I've ever had, and the potatoes and mushrooms really elevated the whole experience! Also, not as important, but a special kudos to the music selection in the background; it created a very relaxed, chill atmosphere that wasn't stuffy or pretentious.
Unspeakably astonishing. These guys revel in the beauty and freshness of their food. Save up and go for every premium cut and dish they have on offer that evening. They KNOW the cow, the bison, the guy who grows the kale. They all know each other well and as a team. Chef Drew - you spoilt us! Melissa, you're a doll and we do wish you make that dream trip to Ireland soon. We're swanky, somewhat snobby East Coast types, and this was one of the most memorable meals of our lives.....
Get the Tomahawk!! Worth every penny and an amazing cut of meat
The pate appetizer is spectacular... rich and tasty...easily shared between two or three people...the prime rib was equally delicious. The service equaled the food...I highly recommended this restaurant.
Ate here for a much needed date night. It did NOT disappoint! The steak was without a doubt the best I’d had in Omaha. The sides were incredible and one of my favorites was the Negroni cocktail. It’s absolutely a must try in an omaha dining scene that gets more exciting each year!
This is not your dads Omaha steak house. Pretty hipster, but perfectly executed. Dishes including the protein were plated differently than any place I’ve been, but we liked it very much. The Monarch pushes the envelope in exactly the right way
Sort of a long wait for brunch, but well, well worth it. We had to laugh: we are lifelong Omahans, but when a family friend sent us the very favorable review from the New York Times, that was the first we knew about Monarch and its wonderful way with beef! :>) You're on your way to the bigtime!
The food and atmosphere were outstanding. Service was good, could be a little better. We were very disappointed not getting the Tomahawk Wagyu chop. They need to come up with a better way to reserve them.
The waiter greeted us in the most lackluster way, telling us about the soup and some of the better dishes on the menu. We ordered the pate and a bottle of wine. The pate came out in just a few minutes. Before we had finished it, our salads arrived. Luckily we had a spare hand to help the server clear away those dishes. As we were getting our salads there was lots of bottles clanging on the floor. As we finished our salads, our waiter let us know the wine we ordered was out. Therefore we just ordered another cocktail. Our entrees arrived and we finished those up quickly to not inconvenience our waiter anymore. The food is tasty, but the service and timing of courses is terrible. I would come back for cocktails.
The food was A-Mazing. Beautiful presentation and Brilliantly crafted flavors.
We celebrated our 15 year anniversary here and ordered the tomahawk chop which we shared. It was amazing. I would highly recommend it. I have ate at number of wonderful restaurants and had many great steaks and this one Is among the best and perhaps the best I have had. I will definitely eat there again and highly recommend it to others.
The food was excellent and combined with the outstanding staff and great atmosphere; this was an evening I won’t forget. This restaurant is much much more than aged wagyu beef; every dish was delicious from the smoked trout appetizer to the s’moregasbord dessert (a must). Beautifully decorated, elegant Lenox china, modern music selection, great cocktails. Yum! My compliments to the chef and staff.
Great food. Server was fantastic. Asked what the occasion was and upon knowing it was pre-play dining, asked what time we would like to leave for play and arranged meal and drinks getting us on right in time. Highly recommend!
Fantastic food and service! Will definitely go there again!!
Beautiful food and service in a beautiful setting. This may be our new favorite local restaurant.
We really enjoyed our meal at the Monarch. Food was fabulous, service was very timely, and the wait staff was very professional. I definitely would recommend (and already have) suggested the Monarch to our friends. Fantastic ambiance & great selection of wines. You won't regret going.
We love Monarch. The food is creative and very good. Our only thing we didn't like this time was our waiter. We really got the feeling that he didn't care if we were there or not. We were and inconvenience for him.
Food was amazing! I had the sirloin, and my friend had the aged prime rib. For dessert the gormet donut holes were a great ending!
This was a special night for us. T
It was made more special by our waiter and the owner being very attentive.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Monarch! The food was especially tasty and our server, Lauren, suggested a few items that were wonderful. Lauren took great care of us and made sure we were done in plenty of time to get to the theater. We plan to return and definitely recommend Monarch!
Great service, very good food and an overall positive experience
The food was excellent and creative. Service was superb. Very good for a date.
The evening was fabulous and we owe it all to Chef Patrick and the gang! Get out there and enjoy the experience!
Really was a cool place to eat. Outstanding service and a tasty set of options. This is not a regular steak house.
My husband and I decided to give Monarch Prime a try for our first anniversary and it was fabulous! We sat down to a celebratory glass of champagne, and each course was better than the last. We had an amazing blue cheese and kale appetizer, the prime rib was phenomenal, sides were delicious and finally chocolate ganache on toasted marshmallow was decadent. Service was great and though a bit pricey well worth it and we'll be back! We saw the brunch menu and will plan our next visit on a Sunday morning!
The food was amazing, but we were there for three hours, and waited for our main course for a hour after we finished our salads. We were told by the manager that the server forgot to put in part of our order. Additionally our sides did not come until we had finished our main course. There was also a lack in communication between the staff and with us.
Although the manager stated he wanted to make it right, we left disappointed and will not return, which is unfortunate because the food was very good, and we enjoy supporting businesses that receive their products locally.
The Monarch is an amazing new restaraunt in Omaha! and an exciting menu, wine list!! most notable was the attentive and exceptional wait staff, who was always there, but never obtrusive!! the Somelier was knowledgeable and welcoming,.... the decor is beautiful ; the restrooms are lovely and the bar is charming and very stylish... this is a great addition to our list of places to go!! and we will plan another dinner there sooner rather than later! other fine dining places in Omaha can take lessons from what Monarch is doing already so well!! and the presentation of every dish was so fresh!! especially the caesar salad!
Over priced for Omaha. Not intimate at all. Tables right on top of each other, could hear all conversations. Ordered filet, got two slices of tenderloin, would not consider it a filet in the Omaha steak scene where every one has a petite or regular filet. Had to ask to be moved from first table as it was a very low table, not at all a table meant for dining. Even the manager said he would not want to eat at one of those tables ( they have 2 of them). Handy to the Orpheum Theater but that is only good thing about Monarch Prime.
We really loved the look and atmosphere of Monarch. The food was excellent and we really enjoyed it. Our server however was extremely lackluster and aloof. For example I observed another server going through some of the entrees with other patrons to make sure they had no questions. We didn’t get that. We were served with an expressionless countenance that felt to us like there was no interest in our being there. When we asked about desserts we were told the selections and then before we could decide the server walked away coming back with the bill..,no further questions about if we wanted dessert. I was doubtful at the time we would return however we enjoyed it and will return and just make sure that server is not a part of our evening. I do highly recommend Monarch.
Upscale steak house in a lovely older hotel. Great look! We ordered the tomahawk chop, only one available each night. We were only two so I suggest you order it for a party of four or more— it’s huge, but provided meals for us and friend the next day. Nice cocktail and wine selection too. We told friends about it last night at a large function. We’d go back again if in the area.
