Made the reservation, got a sitter, only to get there and they were closed for renovations. Very frustrating!!!!
We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner there.
The food was amazing and such a beautiful environment! Service was great and she was very knowledgeable!
My husband and I celebrated Valentines Day at Monarch and were completely satisfied with the whole experience. Wonderful service and unique dishes made our date memorable. Our favorite was the Chicken Liver Mousse. A true delight.
Thanks slow pace with dinner without dessert taking 1-3/4 hours
Referedbyafriend, Thank you for dining with us and we would very much like to see you again.
Outstanding! Really one of the best meals Omaha has ever offered me. From cocktails, appetizers, entrees to dessert, there were no missteps or disappointments. I appreciate meals that present food in ways I have never had before. Monarch was able to serve my chicken entree in a way I have never encountered and one I will not soon forget. Service was attentive and warm.
The food was excellent and our waiter was great, we did the 11-course meal with a wine pairing for Valentine’s Day. Pricy but may be justified given the experience that comes with a meal like that. My biggest criticism (and the reason we won’t go back) is that they brought out a dessert with walnuts in after I told them multiple times my wife has a severe walnut allergy, when I made the reservation weeks in advance, called them again a few days before as a reminder and then told our waiter directly when we arrived. Pretty disappointed as this is not something to mess around with, we would have ended our night at the hospital if I didn’t ask if the cheesecake crust had walnuts in it when they brought them out. Don’t want to go back to a place when I have no confidence that they wouldn’t make this mistake again, possibly without us knowing until it’s too late.
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for dining with us and we rally do hope to see you again. On behalf of all of us, we are sincerely sorry about what happened with the very serious situation. This is not something we take lightly. We will take this information and use it as a tool to increase the awareness of allergies and the urgency that needs to be placed when taking care of our guests. Warm Regards and Sincere Apologies, JC Shurts Director of Food + Beverage
The staff was extremely helpful with the menu and suggestions. The food was perfectly portioned and the mix of flavors were delicious. Will be returning.
Thank you for dining with us and taking the time to leave such nice comments. It was a pleasure and we look forward to hosting you again! JC Shurts Director of Food and Beverage
The food was excellent, cook did an excellent job across the board. The wine recommended by our waitress was superb. Kitchen meet my time requirements for symphony performance. Great meal and experience.
Dear TerryT, Thank you for the kind words! Looking forward to hosting you again.
Very small potions. Odd menu items. Cocktails and wine pours unbelievably skimpy. Way over priced. So many other quality restaurants in Omaha....801 Chophouse, Sullivan’s, J. Coco, Flatiron. All of those are well worth the expenditure.
Good Afternoon Toots, Thank you for taking the time to dine with us and provide your feedback. We are getting ready for a menu change very soon and we promise that your comments on portion sizes have not fallen on deaf ears. As for pricing, we are revisiting that area as well. Please know that we do our best to use all local, non GMO and organic ingredients when we can. It is true, that these items do cost a little more, but clean ingredients are something very special!. Thank you again.
Service was terrible; waiter was rude. We had out of town business clients in town, enjoyed the food but bad experience. Price was outrageous for level of service received.

I write this because I truly love eating at the Monarch. However, I am disappointed as we made a 1 pm reservation for our family over the holiday & even with a clarifying phone call (answered at the bar) we were not told that we would just be in a lounge with a choice of 3 items to eat. So the lesson is that the monarch prime does not open til 5. Which the bartender repeated to me 3 times as we were trying to decide if we were staying for lunch. I was a server for 10 years and I hate to disparage anyone in the industry, but she was kind of rude.
I am not sure which table would’ve been reserved for us. There were quite a few open, but more like lounge seating with high tops or coffee tables. We ended up not staying. We will be back for the restaurant, but I did want to leave this review to make sure no one ran in to the same issues we did. My experience and service this day was more like a 1, but I do adore the Monarch so much, I just could not rate it so low.

I was excited to try this place. Overall the experience was good. There was just a disconnect between the food quality, the service and the price. The price was too high for the experience. I have eaten at many fine dining places that deliver the whole way through. This one just fell short by a little more than I would have expected based on the price of the food.
4 ounces of steak for $65 doesn't fit in Nebraska.
All the food was exceptional as was are waitress. The ambiance is very relaxing.
As always, Monarch delivers a fantastic experience. The steaks we ordered were cooked to perfection, and all menu items were above expectations. Our server/sommelier was extremely knowledgeable and made perfect recommendations.
Drinks were phenomenal, and atmosphere was perfect. The food was a major disappointment -- for the price you expect quality, but 2 of the 5 dishes at our table were inedible (oversalted trout, rock hard quinoa and under cooked pork), one was alright but not what it should have been, and the other two were delicious. The food took an incredibly long time to come out -- we had a show at 7:30 and had dinner reservations at 6 -- we got the food at 7:20 and had to scarf it down
Monarch and Hotel Deco are definitely struggling to be what they used to and I hope they get it figured out before they have to close. There are so many amazing restaurants in Omaha, Monarch needs to step it back up if they want to compete
Fabulous food with wonderful atmosphere! Service was excellent!
Amazing wait staff! Very creative but still soul satisfying menu items. Great cocktail selection as well with talented bartenders.
Always amazing!!! This is my favorite place to go in Omaha!!
Did the tasting menu it was excellent would highly recommend it. As good as any of the restaurants in bigger cities. Service great a new favorite for us
Fantastic. Honestly one of best meals I’ve ever had. Memorable.
Food was perfect. Ambience great. The service was frustrating..the waitress was timely. But she came across as passive aggressive and kind of seemed to casually demean us. My wife orderes the gnochi. She apparently mispronouned it. Waitress corrected her. And then when she was refilling water glasses she "joked" for my wife to stop moving her water glass and lastly we asked for the check. She dropped a book off. Apparently the check was inside but it was not visible. So we opened the book and saw a numner written on the page. I was confused because i thought for some reason it was our bill. So i asked "is this our bill?" And she snidly said "no its a book" and i mean it was just these little jabs that kind of made us feel stupid and like we didnt belong. But i will say the food was probably the best meal we ever had..
Birthday dinner before a show at the Orpheum. Wait staff was cold and barely around. Smelled of cigarettes when he came back from his break. Food was ok, nothing great. Especially for the price. The decor and vibe are AWESOME. Location is great for pre show dinner. Next time though we’ll just have drinks and apps.
We ordered two pasta dishes, it took an hour and 10 minutes. The pasta dishes were under valued for the portions we received, they were the equivalent of an appetizer compared to other fine restaurants in the city
We would give the restaurant another chance because the food itself (and the reason we went there) was quite good. The salads were particularly good. The disappointment we found was due to the service being so slow (we were moving on to the opera), our waiter was a bit uninformed on the wine choices, and not really helpful in suggesting alternatives when they discovered they were out of our chosen entree of trout. So they subbed in salmon (which you can get in every Omaha restaurant and a little boring when you pay $34 per plate). We overheard our waiter tell the table next to us following our order, that then they were out of salmon, and this was at about 6:30pm. That's unacceptable for a restaurant of this level. This being said, we would give it a try again. The atmosphere is nice, seating comfortable, and the host at the front door was excellent. The waitress who had the table next to us that we overheard was stellar.
The service was fabulous. Our waitress was very attentive and explained everything very well. The Brussels sprouts were truly the best we’ve ever had. Steaks cooked to perfection.my only regret was we were too full to try dessert. We will definitely come back again!
It should’ve been a red flag that on a Sat night at 7pm the place was dead. While the food was relatively good the prices were out of line compared to other high end steakhouses. The vibe was quiet, but depressingly so. Our server did a fine job but we waited entirely too long for our entrees and half our table of 8 had to wait several minutes for theirs after the others had been delivered. How does that happen in an empty restaurant? When you spend this kind of money on dinner you want to walk out thinking that was fantastic and worth every penny. While it wasn’t “bad” per say, it certainly wasn’t that.
This was a great spot for our anniversary! Love the ambiance and amazing food.
Food is average. Plates weren’t cleared quickly.
This was by far one of the best dining experiences I've ever had. I highly recommend doing the chef's tasting menu. Every part of the meal felt cohesive and it was a wonderful journey through the flavors of fall. On top of that, the service from Melissa was next level. I'll be back next time I'm in Omaha.
Our food was great . We asked for bread and it was brought to us and we were charged for it. Wow!
The bathroom sink and mirror area is shared by all- not happy about that .
Server was good not great but was patient with us and explained the menu.
We will not be back as I’m not happy about sharing bathrooms with all genders.
Also who has to pay $4.30 for bread with a $150 check??
The food was so good each of us cleared our plates! Kaylen probably spelling that wrong is a great server! Attentive without hovering, and very nice too!
My friend and I had the Wagyu Eye of Ribeye and both of us were amazed by how good it was!
Service was excellent also! We really enjoyed out meal and the restaurant.
Steak is not worth the price. Everything was pretty bland.
A pre-broadway dinner, the server was prompt with our schedule and we enjoyed a delicious dinner
The wait staff was lovely and attentive! I had an injury and they brought me an ice pack and ibuprofen!
beautiful and exquisite....awesome waiter...food fabulous
Great steak!
Missed the baby red potatoes And butternut squash soup. Also lacked the volume of steak from the past few visits. Will have to consider other options for meals downtown.
