My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at the Monarch. Atmosphere, service, wine, and food were very good! There were a couple of dishes (red potatoes and strawberry shortcake) not "up to par" with the rest of the meal but overall we enjoyed ourselves very much and would highly recommend this place to others for any occasions. We will definitely be back!
Celebrated my birthday dinner here and it was amazing! The food was delicious, ambiance was very classy and our staff were very nice and professional. Worth going to!
AMAZING! Hubby and I love eating out and consider ourselves foodies. The chef’s tasting meal was out of this world along with the service! We will definitely be back!
We went to a DJ Brunch. The music was very loud in comparison to the crowd- very few people were there. At times our party of 4 was yelling over the music. The brunch food was good, it wasn’t great. I’m sure they have amazing steaks but the chilaquiles and the breakfast potatoes were a little over-thought. The breakfast potatoes in particular were pickled spicy in a very unexpected and unannounced way- it was a pickled pepper spicy take on potatoes O’Brien, and it would have been nice for them to have been described that way. The pancakes were very good- well made, flavorful batter. The cauliflower soup was excellent. If you are used to Mexican food, probably stay away from the chilaquiles-the approach was different. The chorizo resembled pate, and the whole dish was over-seasoned with salt in general. The mimosas were great and it was refreshing to have San Pellegrino as a water selection. I enjoyed my meal, but for the price I would recommend a different place (this is also keeping in mind that this is mostly a hotel restaurant establishment...)
Our food came out cold but otherwise tasted great hence the three stars. Our waiter was attentive and informative.
One of the best dining experiences you can have in Omaha, both for food and service.
The fire alarm went off during the entire meal.
This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening: Dim lighting, velvet seats, dark walls. The setting is very intimate and the food is exquisite! We will definitely be coming back and recommending it!
We spent my hubby birthday with his mom here last Saturday, we tried the chef special tasting menu, all of us love the food here and the decorations are fantastic, definitely will back for some other special events
Great food and server
Wonderful dry aged prime ribeye
Perhaps the best restaurant in Omaha. Totally amazing. If you want a better meal you will have to drive at least 300 miles! Great selection of whiskey. Compliments to the Chef.
Dined here with a party of eight friends- most of the menu was sampled. The food is heavily salted. The quality of our experience did not reflect the price paid. The service is disorganized. Appetizers were served incomplete, main dishes were brought to wrong seats, and dessert was never offered. The ambiance is nice, but this restaurant has a long way to grow.
Very disappointing. I do not recommend. They do not stick to their reservations either because we waited 45 minutes past our reservation time before getting seated. The food was underwhelming. Not worth the time or money.
Absolutely loved this place and our experience. My husband and I chose this place for date night, and the food was exquisite! He ordered the prime ribeye steak and he is a Russian Persian, if that makes sense (LOL), and he said it was the best steak he has ever tasted. This means a lot coming from him because the meat tastes different in Europe. I ordered the lamb shank, and I usually stick to white meats or fish, but this was such a light dinner, yet healthy and fulfilling. The service made us feel very important, and their appetizers are to die for. We had the trout and potatoes for our appetizer, and the beet salad after. The price is not too bad considering what we ordered, but be prepared to pay for great quality service and food. You will also love the bathrooms they are very old school and similar to a 1920's feel. You share the wash room with the opposite sex, but there's a private men's and women's room that's very clean and efficient. Whoever opened this restaurant knew what they were doing and put their heart, soul, and money into it!
The service and food were excellent. The seating selection wasn’t ideal considering the restaurant wasn’t busy (1st table at the bottom of the stairs). Also, booked the reservation via Open Table and was notified via email today that the reservation wasn’t eligible for points although it was when I booked it.
Way over priced for the quality of the steak. The best thing our table had was the broccoli.
Went two nights in a row and had completely different experiences. First night was 5 star service and food. Next night was horrible service burned bread, forgot coffee, etc. Steak was really good and given first night experience there is a lot of potential if they address some service and food consistency and quality issues.
Amazing experience for our whole group in town for a conference. We started at the bar while waiting for our party to arrive and served up drinks from a very knowledgeable and friendly bartender.
Meal was great with another incredibly knowledgeable server who took great pride and patience educating us on the menu items, wine, and venue.
We had a group of foodies, most of whom travel the world and unanimously voted this as some of the best steak we’ve had anywhere accompanied by nicely complementing sides with a special shout out to the butter!
Delicious and we will hands down make this a stop on future visits to Omaha! Very well done!!
Great as always!
The chef prepares everything with such thought and care. Service was phenomenal. Will absolutely be back.
The food wasn’t terrible, but there are so many better restaurants in Omaha at that price point (and at lower price points!) Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
Excellent Food and great environment! The server was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Had the Sea Bass and Filet. Both were so delicious. The waiter was attentive and friendly.
Monarch is our new favorite restaurant. Service was wonderful, and the food was even better. Every bite was just magnificent! Would recommend to everyone!
One of the best restraunts in Omaha. The filet we had was exceptional and their broccolini, chicken patae’ and salads were amazing. Service was very well done and friendly. The atmosphere is very romantic.
Fantastic dinner and a really pleasant experience. Mel is top notch and gives a personal touch. Menu is always fresh and supporting farm to table.
Chicken Liver pate is divine. As is the Potato and Trout. The Wagyu Prime Rib is outstanding. Laura's service was top-notch. Will gladly recommend to any and all.
Excellent service, excellent food!!!
Fun place to have dinner & drinks with old friends.
Monarch is always fantastic. A little bit on the pricey side, but not enough to be a deterrent for a special date or anniversary. Or in my case, a just because fancy brunch.
Appetizers and sides were much better than entrees.
Enjoy the decor. A very intimate astomphere. Would go back
Our food was truly delicious but unfortunately we had poor service here.
The cocktails were fabulous. The challa bread was too dry but the homemade butter was amazing!! We did not get the appetizer we ordered. The steaks were AWESOME. The grilled asparagus was fabulous. I did not care for the fries which was a big bummer for me. They were curly fries and very hard and chewy. I couldn't eat them with my steak. The donut dessert with semifreddo was just amazing.
Our waitor unfortunately really affected our experience. It seemed like he didn't want to be there. He came across as uncaring and irritated. We tried to talk to him about the food and he would barely respond. We were sat right next to a speaker and the music was so loud we couldn't even hear ourselves. This started off our experience badly. They did turn it down for us but it still felt really loud.
I would be hesitant to recommend this place to friends only because of the poor service.
We had a great time at Monarch! It was my date and I's first time there, and all the waitstaff took excellent care of us. The menu is focused on the steak, as you would expect. Our waiter answered all of our questions and helped us pick drinks. I had the bison steak, which was excellent and very tasty, while my girlfriend had the very tender sirloin. The potato puree might be the best potatoes I've ever had!
The atmosphere was good, with comfortable seating and a nice conversational din. My only minor complaint is that our table for two was a little close to a table for four, and I did catch a bit of their conversation.
Highly recommend Monarch, it has the little touches that make a place special and encourage you to come back!
Foot was Great! The servers knew their stuff and we're good but very serious and robotic...not sure what that is about
Monarch is always a go to for a delicious dinner and bottle of wine. Atmosphere and service was great.
I would give them 10 stars in could. The food was amazing and the service was impeccable! The bison tartare was inspired and delicious. The Wagyu Tomahawk Chop was the best steak I've ever had, and the potatoes and mushrooms really elevated the whole experience! Also, not as important, but a special kudos to the music selection in the background; it created a very relaxed, chill atmosphere that wasn't stuffy or pretentious.
Unspeakably astonishing. These guys revel in the beauty and freshness of their food. Save up and go for every premium cut and dish they have on offer that evening. They KNOW the cow, the bison, the guy who grows the kale. They all know each other well and as a team. Chef Drew - you spoilt us! Melissa, you're a doll and we do wish you make that dream trip to Ireland soon. We're swanky, somewhat snobby East Coast types, and this was one of the most memorable meals of our lives.....
Get the Tomahawk!! Worth every penny and an amazing cut of meat
The pate appetizer is spectacular... rich and tasty...easily shared between two or three people...the prime rib was equally delicious. The service equaled the food...I highly recommended this restaurant.
