We were visiting Omaha and it was suggested we try Monarch Prime instead of Omaha Prime. The restaurant is cool and funky but the Service and Food was just not good. A few of the appetizers were tasty but they were all very small. A few of us decided to try the Filet Tomahawk and were very let down. The meat was very chewy, not tender. Service was abysmal. It pains me to write this, but felt this is why Open Table asks for reviews.
The food was spectacular and the ambiance was very unique.
Brunch was good. Portions were modest, so we ended up with a $60 brunch bill with only 1 mimosa consumed. My husband loved his food but mine was just okay, especially for the price I would have expected more. Ambiance was great but surprisingly a number of kids were there and people were wearing jeans. I know this was brunch, but I expected it to be an more upscale experience. Service was phenomenal though and was a great pre-Orpheum show spot.
Loved it! Great idea for Chef’s Choice.
Was all around a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, service was excellent, and drinks as always on point. Thank you so much for making our anniversary wonderful.
Everything was so wonderful! Attentive service, delicious food, atmosphere is amazing you gotta go!
This was a special Anniversary dinner date for us. We hadn’t planned to go here but decided to try it based on a recommendation from a friend and the proximity to the theater. We had wonderful service and suggestions from Michael. Superb service! The food was amazing as well as the wine. We went with the tasting menu which was michaels suggestion and it was amazing. The pork shoulder was our favorite. We will be back.
Monarch is absolutely stunning inside. All of the staff members are very friendly and respectful. I will definitely return for another special dinner.
Monarch Prime was perfect for our 10th wedding anniversary! The drinks and food were excellent!
Loved it! great meal and service. Can’t wait to return to monarch!
This was a good location for a business lunch. Our waiter turned down the music when I asked. Bo was helpful, pleasant and observant of when we were in mid-conversation. The Caesar salad was among the best I've had and the pork shoulder entree was fantastic. It's a gorgeous location and I hope to back for dinner and drinks.
Awesome restaurant. Absolutely worth a special trip to Omaha, NE to enjoy the best beef there is. Incredible chef who makes a chicken paté that tastes better than foie gras.
Great atmosphere, amazing food, and wonderful staff
We went to try Monarch for the first time because they were participating in Omaha's restaurant week and had received a good referral from a friend. I would say we had high hopes that this would be a good meal/experience but were unfortunately disappointed. The disappointment was a mix from service and food. First, we had to ask for the restaurant week menu as it was not automatically given to us, which I thought was odd but no big deal. We started with a few drinks and the tartar appetizer...it was ok, not bad not great. We then ordered a salad to share and entrees. The wedge salad with lamb bacon sounded great and it was nice of them to split it for us (so I ithought until I saw they charged $4 to split and never mentioned that making a $12 not very good salad $16). As I said it sounded like it would be great but my fiance and myself could barely finish it because of how intensely salty it was - I am a salty fan but this salad was way too much. When ordering the entrees I always like to ask the server their opinion - who knows better than them right? Well wrong, I asked how the striped bass is and received a "nice" from our server, my fiance was deciding between two entrees and asked what their preference was - he responded well this one is newer to the menu so I guess that one....um ok. Well oh well maybe they will be "nice". The striped bass had a very crunchy skin which was the best part and the pork shoulder was ok. Again just alright nothing to write home about. During our entrees I asked to see the wine list again and had to wait until the hostess dropped off my fiance's drink to order since our server did not return for my order. Upon receiving our check the $4 split charge really put me over the top....I just can't recommend Monarch to anyone unfortunately. Sometimes if service is bad the food can make up for it and vice versa but they just snowballed on eachother to make it a very underwhelming experience.
My husband and I enjoyed celebrating our anniversary at the Monarch. Atmosphere, service, wine, and food were very good! There were a couple of dishes (red potatoes and strawberry shortcake) not "up to par" with the rest of the meal but overall we enjoyed ourselves very much and would highly recommend this place to others for any occasions. We will definitely be back!
Celebrated my birthday dinner here and it was amazing! The food was delicious, ambiance was very classy and our staff were very nice and professional. Worth going to!
AMAZING! Hubby and I love eating out and consider ourselves foodies. The chef’s tasting meal was out of this world along with the service! We will definitely be back!
We went to a DJ Brunch. The music was very loud in comparison to the crowd- very few people were there. At times our party of 4 was yelling over the music. The brunch food was good, it wasn’t great. I’m sure they have amazing steaks but the chilaquiles and the breakfast potatoes were a little over-thought. The breakfast potatoes in particular were pickled spicy in a very unexpected and unannounced way- it was a pickled pepper spicy take on potatoes O’Brien, and it would have been nice for them to have been described that way. The pancakes were very good- well made, flavorful batter. The cauliflower soup was excellent. If you are used to Mexican food, probably stay away from the chilaquiles-the approach was different. The chorizo resembled pate, and the whole dish was over-seasoned with salt in general. The mimosas were great and it was refreshing to have San Pellegrino as a water selection. I enjoyed my meal, but for the price I would recommend a different place (this is also keeping in mind that this is mostly a hotel restaurant establishment...)
Our food came out cold but otherwise tasted great hence the three stars. Our waiter was attentive and informative.
One of the best dining experiences you can have in Omaha, both for food and service.
The fire alarm went off during the entire meal.
This is the perfect spot for a romantic evening: Dim lighting, velvet seats, dark walls. The setting is very intimate and the food is exquisite! We will definitely be coming back and recommending it!
We spent my hubby birthday with his mom here last Saturday, we tried the chef special tasting menu, all of us love the food here and the decorations are fantastic, definitely will back for some other special events
Great food and server
Wonderful dry aged prime ribeye
Perhaps the best restaurant in Omaha. Totally amazing. If you want a better meal you will have to drive at least 300 miles! Great selection of whiskey. Compliments to the Chef.
Dined here with a party of eight friends- most of the menu was sampled. The food is heavily salted. The quality of our experience did not reflect the price paid. The service is disorganized. Appetizers were served incomplete, main dishes were brought to wrong seats, and dessert was never offered. The ambiance is nice, but this restaurant has a long way to grow.
Very disappointing. I do not recommend. They do not stick to their reservations either because we waited 45 minutes past our reservation time before getting seated. The food was underwhelming. Not worth the time or money.
Absolutely loved this place and our experience. My husband and I chose this place for date night, and the food was exquisite! He ordered the prime ribeye steak and he is a Russian Persian, if that makes sense (LOL), and he said it was the best steak he has ever tasted. This means a lot coming from him because the meat tastes different in Europe. I ordered the lamb shank, and I usually stick to white meats or fish, but this was such a light dinner, yet healthy and fulfilling. The service made us feel very important, and their appetizers are to die for. We had the trout and potatoes for our appetizer, and the beet salad after. The price is not too bad considering what we ordered, but be prepared to pay for great quality service and food. You will also love the bathrooms they are very old school and similar to a 1920's feel. You share the wash room with the opposite sex, but there's a private men's and women's room that's very clean and efficient. Whoever opened this restaurant knew what they were doing and put their heart, soul, and money into it!
The service and food were excellent. The seating selection wasn’t ideal considering the restaurant wasn’t busy (1st table at the bottom of the stairs). Also, booked the reservation via Open Table and was notified via email today that the reservation wasn’t eligible for points although it was when I booked it.
Way over priced for the quality of the steak. The best thing our table had was the broccoli.
Went two nights in a row and had completely different experiences. First night was 5 star service and food. Next night was horrible service burned bread, forgot coffee, etc. Steak was really good and given first night experience there is a lot of potential if they address some service and food consistency and quality issues.
Amazing experience for our whole group in town for a conference. We started at the bar while waiting for our party to arrive and served up drinks from a very knowledgeable and friendly bartender.
Meal was great with another incredibly knowledgeable server who took great pride and patience educating us on the menu items, wine, and venue.
We had a group of foodies, most of whom travel the world and unanimously voted this as some of the best steak we’ve had anywhere accompanied by nicely complementing sides with a special shout out to the butter!
Delicious and we will hands down make this a stop on future visits to Omaha! Very well done!!
Great as always!
The chef prepares everything with such thought and care. Service was phenomenal. Will absolutely be back.
The food wasn’t terrible, but there are so many better restaurants in Omaha at that price point (and at lower price points!) Unfortunately, we won’t be back.
Excellent Food and great environment! The server was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend.
Had the Sea Bass and Filet. Both were so delicious. The waiter was attentive and friendly.
Monarch is our new favorite restaurant. Service was wonderful, and the food was even better. Every bite was just magnificent! Would recommend to everyone!
One of the best restraunts in Omaha. The filet we had was exceptional and their broccolini, chicken patae’ and salads were amazing. Service was very well done and friendly. The atmosphere is very romantic.
Fantastic dinner and a really pleasant experience. Mel is top notch and gives a personal touch. Menu is always fresh and supporting farm to table.
