   I was not impressed. At that price point I expected better. Service was great and the complimentary glass of champagne was a nice touch but the food was just okay.

   Top notch service and quality menu. We celebrated our 30th wedding anniversary ! We had one of the best tables next to the window with a fantastic view of downtown. Service was excellent and we agreed the humus was the best we have ever had. Wood oven mushrooms were outstanding and the sticky toffee desert was delicious.

   Rosie and Rachel made our whole evening. They were both so friendly, service was amazing, and we've recommended so many people to go and ask for them both. Rosie's drink recommendations were perfect and Rachel's food recommendations were just what we were looking for. Will absolutely be back next time we are in Dallas!

    The ambience and service was great. The lasagna was extremely salty so my husband did not eat it. The rest of the food was great.

    The whole experience was wonderful from start to finish. The waiter joined us for a caviar bump and then gave us a tour. The food was awesome and just kept on coming and we had plenty of leftovers to take home. The staff were very attentive and we’ll definitely be going back soon

    We went for our daughters 21st birthday, they don’t offer any celebratory candles or special dessert. Food was very mediocre. My husbands lobster was rubbery and my Brussels sprouts were soggy. My chicken had the skin on, it was fine; our daughter got a spicy pasta, it was okay. It just wasn’t amazing like we were expecting.

    The atmosphere and food is amazing. My complaint is when the waitress was bringing our cocktails, she spilt a empty cup of ice and part of my mix drink all over me. My sports coat and our table were soaked for the rest of the evening. They didn’t offer to change the table cloth. The staff just brought extra napkins to help soak up the table cloth. The food came out and it was amazing. The staff was extra attentive afterwards. Me and my wife aren’t ones to complain but most restaurants would at least comp my cocktail or even a dessert. They charged full price and we paid. Once again, everything else was amazing and my sports coat made it to the cleaners.

    My boyfriend said that this was the best meal he ever had! We went for my birthday and they made it so special for us. I would highly recommend Monarch for their food, service, and atmosphere!

    BEAUTIFUL environment with wonderful views. Drinks were fantastic! IMPECCABLE service! Food: BEST charred octopus we have ever had! Steak was overdone. Lasagne was an odd deconstructed version on the greasy side.

    Food is hit or miss. Their lasagna and shrimp scampi ravioli are fantastic. The fish and filet left much to be desired. Same with desserts and cocktails. Also, their cocktails seem to have a sliding pricing scale. It’s not unusual to order a $20 rye and have them exchange it for a $35 rye without telling you until you get the bill. And I was served champagne in a red wine glass AND dessert port in a red wine glass, which I found strange.

    Second best meal I've ever had! Took a date here and we shared food. She had truffle risotto, oysters, and charred octopus. I had branzino, mashed potatoes, and brussel sprouts. Best food I've had in a long long time. One small issue...the fish had bones in it. I bit into one, not expecting it, and it hurt my mouth. I was at a place that was so far above my normal spending level, I didn't know if it was a mistake by the kitchen or if it's assumed the diner should work around the bones in the fish with this presentation. I was too embarrassed to ask for clarification. Even with that, the food was one of the best food experiences I've ever had. Everything tasted amazing, and the views were great. Five stars.

    The Japanese A5 steak was the best steak we’ve ever had - and we eat a lot of good steak. The pasta was just fine, but everything else was exceptional and the service was outstanding. We will definitely go back.

    We were celebrating the holidays with dear friends! I had received a gift certificate and found the hotel, dining room and the view spectacular. Our server, James, was attentive, professional and friendly. I had the octopus as a starter and the halibut for dinner. Everything was perfectly prepared and seasoned to my liking. I am dairy free and gluten free and James made sure chef knew and accommodations were made. Our table was near the kitchen which wasn’t ideal but I didn’t request a window when making our reservation. Rookie mistake!!

    Our experience it wasn't as we were expecting. We ordered pasta and the size of our portion was a joke. It was extremelly small and they even suggested we could share. They never offered parmesan cheese for the pasta. I was dissapointed.

    TLDR - Not worth the hype! The welcome experience was great at the hotel lobby. The restaurant vibe is good but nothing special for the price. Same thing can be said about the food - we ordered medium rare fillet and it came medium-well done so had to get that exchanged. For a primarily italian place, the short rib pasta was kind of disappointing in both taste and presentation. The drinks and desert were good and are the saving grace.

    Service was decent not great. Gave server clear directions as to food order but wanted to do it his way - we sent the order back. We were asked whether we were celebrating an event which we were and we told the hostess - then nothing happened - ridiculous to ask and then not provide a benefit - such as a complimentary dessert. Overall very good but I won’t go out of my way to eat there again.

    Ambiance was great, food was delicious. Slightly disappointed they didn't offer a complimentary dessert for the birthday we were celebrating considering - which was indicated when making the reservation. Also mislead by OpenTable saying the restaurant offers complimentary valet, which is incorrect - wound up being charged $10.

    I was really excited to go to Monarch but was pretty disappointed in the food and the level of service. The atmosphere was outstanding though and the salads were awesome. Everything else just okay and for it being a special occasion and how much we spent, I was pretty disappointed.

    Leo was an excellent table captain. The food was delicious and the service excellent. The wood oven roasted tiger prawns are highly recommended; as is the Momma's Spicy Rigatoni. An excellent meal.

    The food definitely wasn’t as good as we thought it was going to be especially for the price. I had requested a window seat which we didn’t get at first and was the main reason why we had even booked at the Monarch. Our waitress however the best! She was able to move us to a window table that had finished their dinner and she even offered to take us upstairs to see a better view when her shift was almost over. The food was very bland to us and if the quality of meat was suppose to better we couldn’t tell a difference. There was two older couples that were extremely loud. It was a nice place and we got it off our check list but we probably won’t be going again.
