   We ordered the chicken kebabs. We removed them all from the stick and had them on the plate. We ate a few pieces , then realized the rest of the chicken pieces were completely raw. We sent it back. Instead of getting us a new entree, they put those pieces back on the grill, and then overcooked them so they came back dry. It seemed unsanitary and unnecessary.

   I celebrated my birthday here. Top tier restaurant! Friendly staff , beautiful ambiance, smells delicious , and the birthday celebration made me feel special. I’ll be back !

   The bar is set high for Mediterranean cuisine here in Philly with restaurants like Suraya and now Emmet, both in Fishtown. Mona doesn't meet those standards but there were things I liked about it (and didn't). Service was excellent, and it's a beautiful space. The humus was ho hum, and the chunks of pita were not exactly fresh from the oven. My entree, the lamb shank, was delicious but I'm not sure there was enough there for 2 people as indicated on the menu, and pricy at $44 given the smallish serving. Our dessert - baclava - was outstanding. Probably wouldn't return given my proximity to the other restaurants mentioned above. It lands in the category of "just ok."

    My friends and I came here for my birthday. I noted that this was a birthday occasion and they brought out the sparklers ! The drinks were great and we ordered the “little of everything” and it was so yummy. Such a great experience!
