We were delighted with our visit to Mona Lisa Mare e Monti! We're locals (for 25 years+) and enjoy their sister restaurants, Mona Lisa (also on Columbus) and The Old Clam House (which they took over post-COVID, with much success). Now we know the treasures of Mare e Monti as well. Mauricio and son Osi at the front of the house are always fun to chat with during the meal. These are real Italians, so their starters, including salumis and/or seafood will not disappoint. The beet salad is amazing! The specials last night - the tuna steak and the fresh linguini with half a lobster and baby scallops - were both delicious, and very well executed by Chef Jesus, who we got to meet. They have an assortment of Italian wines (and others, but when in Rome...), and a great bar and bar tender in Bobby. The servers are excellent, including the two Giovannis. Their homemade desserts are delicious (ask which these are), including an orange tiramisu that I've never had anywhere else. Go. Enjoy. Repeat.

We had a pasta dish, the grilled salmon and shared a beet salad. We were very pleased with our meal. The service was excellent and the restaurant is beautiful. We had just seen the show at Club Fugazzi (highly recommend also). It was a quick walk from the theater in a great and active part of the city.

It was very romantic, and the best pasta I’ve eaten. The scallops for the appetizer were perfect! Our waiter was a pleasure to talk to and we had the most enjoyable time to celebrate our 9 year anniversary!

Love this spot. Quality Italian food at pretty good prices. Wine, caesar salad, whole branzino, cacio e pepe. All delish. Sat by a window and enjoyed people watching. Heat lamps outside for street side dining. We shall return.

It's our first time to Mona Liza Mare & Monti so we have very little expectations. There are several favorite dishes: fritto misto is incredibly flavorful and lightly breaded crispy. Burrata is tasty and creamy. Caesar salad with anchovy is superb. We have ordered several pasta dishes and most of them are delicious. That said, their fiorentina bistecca might be off the mark a little. It might be something to do with the cut. The meat was chewy and overly salted. Wine selection is very good. Overall it was a nice experience. I will totally come back for some of my favorite dishes.

All of the food and staff were phenomenal! One of the best meals I have had in North Beach in a while!! From the tenderly prepared grilled octopus, deliciously fresh fritto misto, to the perfectly cooked bistecca alla fiorentina… everything was spectacular. The staff was warm and welcoming from the waiter to the restaurant owner walking around greeting guest and having a great time! I would recommend this to anyone craving a true, authentic Italian meal in the heart of Little Italy!

Server missed an item ordered, we weren't charged, so I didn't fuzz about it. We sat at a table near the entrance, where the wind would blow in and it was a cool evening outside so it wasn't pleasant. Food was good and people were Friendly.

Our waitress was very nice and attentive however everything else was bad. Pasta was horrible, food came out at different times for people in our party. Some of us were completely done eating while other people were still waiting for their food. Son of the owner failed to come to our table to address our concerns. We had to call him over. Never again will we visit this restaurant.

We were the only table (two) at the restaurant. No atmosphere. Concluded that we booked the wrong Mona Lisa as on the opposite site of the road is also a Mona Lisa (the 'right' one). First course had no taste, main course was ok. We will not go back.

I really want to love their cacio e pepe, but the cheese is too clumpy. I've tried it twice. The other dishes were delicious, the ambiance is lovely, and our server was charming and helpful. Will return.

It had been a while since we had been to Mona Lisa and did not know there was a second location across the street on Columbus. The ambience of the restaurant is not the same. The Mare e Monti felt more sterile and less cozy than the original. We originally went to the first location but found out our reservations were across the street. The food and service were excellent, the only difference was the atmosphere.
