Best pub in the west. My favourite local. Staff are great and food and drinks are great with a terrific variety.

Helpful, pleasant, friendly and unobtrusive wait staff. Dining room area was busy but not crowded. Relaxed atmosphere and not rushed to leave. A great night of catch up with past work colleagues made memorable by the ambiance and just right attention of the staff. Time from ordering food and drinks to being served was unnoticeable. Enjoyed the raffle!

Had the salmon, which was excellent. Good range of wines and beers and very friendly service. Veal schnitzel is also very good.

Such a great atmosphere . Very popular Staff particularly are an asset to the Mona Castle The place was so busy but they had it covered . Enjoyed our steak night

So great to see such a packed pub. It was heaving and is obviously a favourite with locals of all ages. It was so great to see such atmosphere and community. The dining area was sheltered from the crowd while still reflecting that atmosphere.

We love coming to the Mona but sadly this visit wasn’t as good as usual. The food took over 40 mins to arrive, then the steak came without butter, the peppercorn sauce tasted like curry and the vegetables weren’t properly seasoned; I’d have spoken to someone to fix things if we could’ve actually found anyone who wanted to serve us. We also would’ve liked to order more drinks and desert but after waiting 20 minutes for our plates to be cleared (it wasn’t even busy at this point) we gave up, paid the bill and left. I appreciate that things go wrong sometimes but it’s about how you fix it when they do.

Ordered three steak sandwiches and they all had a huge streak of chewy fat through the centre that left one plate inedible and the two others were very hard to get through. Explained this to the waitress who offered us dessert on the house - but then proceeded to charge us for it. Super disappointed.
