The modern decor is pleasant and we had a good table in the back but the noise level kept rising throughout the dinner hour. Service was attentive. Sushi and sashimi were good and fresh but appetizers were rather overpriced and not up to Japanese standards. Probably would not visit again.

Do not trust menu prices for this Restaurant on Opentable! Many dishes are $10 higher price at the restaurant..I told them this and they said it was for another restaurant-wow!

Two words: crispy rice. You MUST get it if you dine at Momoya. Along with that, we got miso soup, pork gyoza, the Greenwich special roll, and a salmon roll with avocado and cucumber added. Everything was excellent. I much prefer this location to the one in Chelsea which is much smaller and more hectic. Service was very attentive and quick. Momoya is one of my favorite sushi spots in the city! Perfect to bring an out of town guest.

Momoya gets better and better. They extend a warm welcome, an attribute which characterizes their service. We were happy to experience this. Sushi is excellent, better than anything else around at the price. If one pays more, one can find new venues for artisanal sushi but not at $34 for the sushi special. We savored the agadash tofu as well as excellent sake choices. One will feel fulfilled after a meal at Momoya. Everything is good.

Service was fantastic and everyone was very attentive. The food was well prepared, fresh, and flavorful, but not too expensive. The owner and manager both came to check on our table to make sure everything was good and were clearly invested in the success of their restaurant. We will be back soon!

The food, drinks, and ambiance were amazing! The crispy rice was the best I’ve ever had! However, there was only one server for the whole outdoor area. He was working very hard, but just based on how many tables there were we never got a 2nd round of drinks and had to track him down to place our order. Overall, amazing place, but they seemed slightly understaffed and the servers were not able to get to everyone very quickly.

Delicious but pricey....really when you come right down to it, how can such a small sliver of fish be market priced from $8-$15 and higher at even more expensive sushi joints around the city? It's gotten to be punishing to eat out in NYC and sushi was always an aggressively priced luxury pre-Covid. "Everyone charges that much" and " Don't order it if you can't afford it" are the usual responses. I understand that sushi aficionados will pay anything for the "best" at the hands of celebrity sushi chefs....but at some point we move from the sublime to the ridiculous. On the UWS, Momoya is one of the best places to try new, inventive rolls and their sushi is always fresh and positively addictive.

We booked a reservation in advance, but waited over an hour for a table by the bar because they were packed. The manager was courteous enough though to try to offer us a glass of champagne while we waited but we declined. The food itself was pretty good, and would recommend this place for it but due to the lack of wait, makes you question if it’s worth the experience.

I've been a customer at Momoya for years and have never been so disappointed particularly in the service and how crowded they allowed the space to be with newly unmasking policies and no longer verifying vaccinations. The sense was only one thing of importance: make as much money as possible as quickly as possible. Very disappointing.

The crispy rice roll was good, but less than what I had expected. Maybe because everyone hyped it up, I had high expectations that didn’t get met. A little pricey, but it was a cute spot for a date night. The outdoor seating was super cute and had a great ambiance. Not sure if I would go back, especially since I come from Long Island, but food and service was good.

First time dining here. Enjoyed both sushi and appetizers. The quality of the fish was superb. Pork buns so tasty too! The service was excellent as well. We will be back.
