Server was excellent. Front staff were amazing
Exceptional food and service. Truly outstanding! We flew in from elsewhere and it was at the top of our list to try because of the ratings and reviews. It lived up to expectations and beyond.
While the main floor has ambience, the upstairs doesn’t have any. It’s like being seated in an attic.
While service was adequate, some appetizers and sushi was good. Rice bowl dishes were bland. The irritating thing is the restaurant tacked on a 4% health fee to pay for employees health insurance which is unpleasantly found on the while trying to a family dinner. I paid it and left as family time was more important for me at the time.
Any additional fees must be posted on the menu to be enforced, I find this in bad taste.
Knowledgeable staff. Recommend the dealer's choice option for drinks where the bartender will mix something based on your palate profile. You can't go wrong with any of the sushi options
From the time we walked in there was an attitude. It’s not what you say it’s how you say it. We were a little taken back by the first thing that was said to us “you have a two hour time limit”. Bad way to start things. The server also had an attitude like we were lucky to be there. The food was overpriced and not that good. We spend 150.00 and I had to eat when I got home. I was warned about this place and didn’t listen. Never again Momo.
Perfect evening for one of our first nights out during the pandemic.
The staff made us feel very special with a personalized birthday menu for my brother in law. Each server that came to the table asked who's birthday was it and we were served with a special dessert at the end of the meal.
The food is exemplary, scallops, octopus, pate and the best rice ever. Highly recommended for any occasion.
The sushi was excellent. Had some items from the nigiri section and it did not disappoint. The fish and seafood were fresh. If you have the funds for this place this is a definite place to check out.
Fantastic all around. Stellar service and fresh seafood. It's pricey. Still paying a lot for not having alcohol drinks.
Service was fine, server wasn’t the friendliest.
2nd time here. The food is amazing but the service is just slow and bad!! They service you multiple hot dishes at the same time with no concern for timing.
I’m hoping the service gets better bc food is great!
Our favorite spot! Everything is amazing about Momotaro!
Amazing restaurant. Great food with perfect balance and ingenuity. The beef curry spaghetti is a must try especially for those that are a fan of traditional japanese curry.
Absolutely excellent!!!
Momotaro is an absolutely fantastic for upscale, exciting, yet comforting dishes and ambience. 10/10. I have been there a few times now and will absolutely be coming back.
We went here for Valentine’s Day and everything from the service to the cocktails to the food was phenomenal and exceeded expectations. The bartender, Abdi, made excellent cocktails and provided great saki recommendations. Our waitress provided good guidance on what to order and timed the dishes perfectly. Beautiful restaurant and delicious food. Can’t wait to go back on another special occasion.
Had the best experience at Momotaro. All the dishes we had were amazing - edamame, skirt steak, maki (tuna, hamachi, bbq unagi). The highlight was the chocolate tart. It was INCREDIBLE. Excited to dine here again.
Momotaro was our first in-restaurant experience since COVID and we could not be happier with our choice. Seating was very spaced out, everyone wore masks, and our temperatures were taken before we were taken to our table. The food and service were amazing as always.
Birthday dinner
Perfect date spot & amazing food
Always an amazing experience
The waitress was wayyyyyy too overbearing with being at the table every 3 minutes. It was very hard to eat and enjoy it since we had to put our masks on every time she came to the table. She also repeated their Covid protocols word for word what the hostess told us. We got it, no need to repeat it numerous times and waste our time. And speaking of, she kept saying that we had only a specific amount of time left. There was absolutely nobody in the restaurant but us, so not sure why they’d be trying to make us leave earlier. Regardless, not a pleasant experience whatever their new Covid rules are. Food was mediocre as well so we won’t be coming back unfortunately.
Ordered everything the hostess recommended and it was perfect! Definitely going to be back there soon!
Extremely rushed with covid restrictions.
Fantastic sushi, great service, lovely atmosphere... we will be back
Fantastic! Great food and service. Matthew was amazing!
The heaters outside worked great. The spaghetti dish and octopus dish were my favorites. Cocktails were also good. The train is right above restaurant, so just be aware that the noise can get annoying.
Great food and great service.
Awesome staff, great cocktails. Always a great experience.
Food was delicious service was great. The noise was very high bcs of the train and it was street dining
Waiting 20 minutes for our table past our reservation, but was worth it. Cocktails were great and the waiter was awesome. COVID protocols in place that make you feel very safe. Food was very good.
We went for dinner and food and service was fantastic! Only cons were the wait in their gathering area even with a reservation, and also we didn’t get a warning of kitchen closing. Therefore we didn’t have an entree after our small plates and drinks.
Very great staff though! Food is delicious, try everything!
Unreal! I try and come once a month to support!
Server was no where to be found at times.... I swear his name was Houdini
Very difficult to understand staff due to masks.
Would not go back during the pandemic.
Food selection and drinks were fantastic. Ambience was also very nice. Great for a friend get together or date
Fantastic as always. It’s a “must” every time we are in Chicago.
The food was amazing. Everything we got was perfect. The young female server we had was absolutely terrible. I was very surprised. She took our order for food and drinks. Other people brought the food which is fine. She never asked about second drink, never asked how the food was, never asked for dessert. Was wandering around the restaurant, which was at decreased capacity due to COVID-19. I had to find her for the check. I just don’t get it.
Would still return for the food. If I saw her again I would tell her personally about our experience so she could change. No manager was at the door when we left because of the time.
Hold on to your wallet! $18 to valet, $19 for a 2 oz pour of Grey Goose. A surcharge to pay for employees medical benefits and to top it off manager responds to an email saying “do to COVID they prefer not to have guests from out of state”. They do not post this on Open Table nor their website. Dinner was good but after $200 for 2, I left hungry.
Temp checks, social distancing, masks whenever interacting with staff - makes you feel safer. Nice quiet lunch to get away from baby. We were initially seated outside, then it started to drizzle so they moved us inside and server even sent us free dish. Amazing service. Food excellent. Can’t wait to try dinner
Food was delicious as always plus great service and recommendations by the staff!
