Fantastic as always. It’s a “must” every time we are in Chicago.
Hold on to your wallet! $18 to valet, $19 for a 2 oz pour of Grey Goose. A surcharge to pay for employees medical benefits and to top it off manager responds to an email saying “do to COVID they prefer not to have guests from out of state”. They do not post this on Open Table nor their website. Dinner was good but after $200 for 2, I left hungry.
Temp checks, social distancing, masks whenever interacting with staff - makes you feel safer. Nice quiet lunch to get away from baby. We were initially seated outside, then it started to drizzle so they moved us inside and server even sent us free dish. Amazing service. Food excellent. Can’t wait to try dinner
Food was delicious as always plus great service and recommendations by the staff!
Just wonderful food. Great ambiance.
Perfect! We came for a late night experience and everything was great. Food came out at good time, social distanced tables made it really relaxing and comforting.
Food was very good , service was at high level , not cheap but worth every coin that was left there.
Food was delicious and service was awesome! They also adhered to strict covid guidelines which we appreciated. I will definitely be going back!
Great food and service. Definitely a special occasion kind of place in terms of price but fish and other food were excellent.
Excellent food and drinks. Great spot for a date night or just to enjoy some quality sushi and other bites with friends. I will be back!
Great waitstaff with excellent recommendations! Unique menu items. Great bottle selection.
Everything we tasted was exceptional! We will definitely be back!!!
Food was exceptional. Some staff too uptight about trying to follow uncomfortable guidelines.
Visiting from California, the sushi was was very good, and fish was super fresh. Ambience was perfect for a romantic date night and conversations. Drinks were great, and sake list was even better. The robata dishes were fun, but not the most authentic—still good nonetheless. I think the sushi pricing compares to most other places of its caliber give or take a few dollars. We were one of the last reservations due to our late night flight (Thank you for being one of the few, nicer establishments, with a kitchen that closed at 11pm, thank you!)
I think due to Covid, they had limited wait staff, and our waiter mentioned that they had to write all the checks manually... service was slow, very slow but our waiter did his best and was very accommodating with us. I would definitely recommend if you are looking for a nicer sushi restaurant. It’s a bit like Nobu for quality but more inviting/welcoming if that makes sense. But be prepared to spend, our tab for 2 was almost $250 (more due to alcohol and taking a bottle of sake to go) but we enjoyed it, the atmosphere and would return.
Great food! Very expensive. Had to beg for other waiters to ask our server to come to our table. She was nowhere around all night and we couldn’t order all the food we wanted.
Simplicity w/exquisite ingredients!
we left the choice to the chef and we were not impressed
My girlfriend and I went there for our anniversary, and we had a wonderful time. The food was out of this world. From the miso soup and edamame starter to the nigiri and chicken dumplings. We topped it off with an incredible chocolate tart with white sesame ice cream.
Food was outstanding, service was first rate and responsive. The restaurant is one of the best in Chicago.
Pretentious vibe where while your eating you need to atop put on your mask cuz someone is putting food on your table. Overpriced and underdelivered.
Incredible food and experience. Would highly recommend. Excited to come back and try the dinner menu.
Everyone was so wonderful and friendly and it felt incredibly safe. Thank you!!
Impeccable food. Everything was beautifully served and prepared. Flavors were complex and identifiable. We didn’t even bother ordering rolls as the robata, nigiri and small plates all hit a home run. The design is tastefully minimalist and thoughtful. Staff was on it! And extremely safe. This will forever be a stop for my trips to Chicago.
Best sushi in the city! It was so fresh and delicious
As a front line healthcare provider, I completely understand all of the precautions and safeguards that have been put in place given the current pandemic however these precautions, in aggregate, take a great deal away from the experience of dining at Momotaro. Combine that with what seems like a stripped down, limited menu and completely lackluster service and you have a high-dollar, mediocre dining experience. This is a sharp decline from all the prior (pre-Covid) dining experiences I’ve had at this excellent restaurant. Food was great, everything else not so much.
Exquisite sushi and waiters are very friendly recommend the salmon nigiris
The whole experience was great. Food amazing. With the whole COVID situation, they took every precaution possible to make us feel safe and have an enjoyable dining experience as well.
Excellent experience overall and the food was amazing. Service was great as well
Food was amazing and the service was excellent. I can’t wait to go back.
Momotaro is consistently my favorite place to eat in Chicago!
Service was extremely slow and when we actually got our server at our table we get very rushed. Our glasses were dirty with smudges and fingerprints. Food was great. Maki was underwhelming but, everything else was very good. Wish the service would have made our experience better. Probably not her fault just over sat.
Impressed with your vegetarian options, delicious flavorful food!
The attention to detail to keep diners and employees safe is incredible. Highly recommend for service and quality of food. Amazing meal always.
Our favorite place to go! Service is ALWAYS 100% and the food is always tasty!
Very rushed with reminders of our time limit every 15 minutes or so. Very annoying... overpriced, “upscale,” fast food restaurant
Absolutely fantastic food. The wait staff were quick and professional, will definitely be back!
It was cold out the night we dined (we ate outside), but the food from the kitchen made up for everything. Our experience at Momotaro was lovely and we felt very safe the entire time - you can tell the staff takes the global pandemic seriously...and we definitely appreciated that. Thank you for a lovely evening!
