Momotaro is a multi-dimensional Japanese restaurant located in the West Loop. Led by Executive Chef Gene Kato. Momotaro was recently named Restaurant of the Year in both Chicago Magazine and Chicago Social. The restaurant was designed by the world renowned AvroKO, also contains a subterranean Izakaya and an elegant second floor private space that overlooks the main dining room. The 90 item menu contains items from many categories including rice and noodles, hibachi, hot & cold items, as well as an extensive sushi and sashimi program. If you can't find a time you like, most of the tables in the Izakaya are first come, first serve, and we do accept walk-ins!

It's always amazing. The nigiri is fire. I would recommend just letting the waiter order.

Expensive, but high quality food. Service was a bit aloof and pretentious.

Best sushi in Chicago. Don’t skip the A5 wagyu.

Certainly tasty bites to be had, but it's the kind of place where you spend $150 and leave hungry. Also they card people as if everyone who comes in is an 18 year old narc, at that point it's inhospitable.

Had a birthday dinner here. The food and service were extraordinary and definitely made for a memorable experience. I'll be talking about the chicken liver pate for days.

We had a truly amazing meal. The flavors were so perfectly conceived. I could tell that the chef had intimate knowledge of the ingredients he was creating with.
