Other great restaurants with availability.Food and ambiance were outstanding. A wonderful place to celebrate a special occasion
Their sushi was amazing!! Robata grill and steak veggies were too salty though. Overall highly recommended!! Will definitely consider coming back for sushi :)
I went with two work colleagues. We asked for an "omakase" type menu. It was absolutely incredible. One of the best dinner experiences of my life.
It was very busy on a Wednesday night. We had to wait approximately 30 minutes past our reservation time. There were also delays in the kitchen with 1st courses. Overall our dishes were very good. Stone bass and a beef fried rice they were excellent. Very creative menu and beautiful presentation.
We were incredible excited to eat at Momotaro. Unfortunately, the food was terrible. And, my colleague got sick from the scallop dish that was highly recommend to us. I would never recommend anyone go.
The place is too crowded and it feels like everyone is on top of each other. I would not recommend this place if you’re looking for space and an intimate setting. I’ve been to other robata restaurants in Chicago and had a better contrasted experience.
Went above and beyond for my birthday. Not cheap, but it was a great experience and I would highly recommend for a special occasion!
Food was delicious!! The pasta is always on point!!
Delicious and authentic Japanese food with a fun atmosphere!
Superb food. Great service, and expert recommendations for those of us who are not true Sashimi experts. But we were seated in the upstairs area which was much, much less fun. And it was quite expensive.
superb food, great service
I hadn't been to momotaro in a while and was disappointed by my most recent visit. The menu seems less creative. Although none of the dishes were outright bad, most of what we ordered (the tofu/pork dish, shisito peppers, yellowtail sushi) was mediocre. The beef fried rice really needed salt. By comparison, I had come to expect to be wowed by every dish with their former chef.
Not authentic Japanese. Severely overpriced compared to Asia.
Chef changed and if shows. Not good.
Service was a big miss this visit. We felt ignored and simultaneously rushed out. Server did not take our cocktail order, approached the table by saying, “do you guys know what you want yet?” and then dropped the check before asking us if we wanted after dinner drinks or dessert.
Top notch A to Z
My sister and I had the most fabulous dinner together!
Pro tip: order the spaghetti.
Ever since the menu got change, everything is so salty. There is no aftertaste. All you want to do is drink water water water. I have been in Momotaro more than 20times since 2016. But this would be last time here.
Not my favorite. The only thing we really liked was the salmon pot belly nigiri. Have had much better sushi.
Way to expensive for the quality and quantity of food. It is not tasting menu!! it is annoying to order the same dish three times for three of us dining because it’s just not enough food on the plate to be shared!! One bite of octopus costing 14 bucks and 30% of it is burned and was not able to be eaten. Such a ripped off. Not worth it.
delicious food came out fast, atmosphere is great table was ready on time
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Momotaro! Our server was knowledgeable, friendly and we loved all of her recommendations. Excellent!
Used to love this place! But went Nov 2019 and was really disappointed. The food was just ok, the service wasn't great and we felt rushed out. I made the reservation because I'd always had a great experience here, but unfortunately it seems like things have changed there. I would not go back.
Birthday!!
Food as usual was amazing here. The waiter we had was the worst I’ve had and was subpar. Was not attentive, flippant and not personable - pretty sure he rolled his eyes at me when I was trying to order a bottle of wine. We spent a significant amount of money and I would expect better. Our experience was great except for the waiter and unfortunately I’m in the business of customer experience and that’s everything during a long and expensive meal. I will still come back because I love this place and hope for better experience.
We are frequent customers. Most of the time we get the same waiter. I dont know his name, but he is very knowledgeable, patient and kind. In general we usually get good service but this gentleman in particular is amazing! I will have to ask his name next week 😊 oh and the food is always perfect and delicious. Only thing is I wish the plates would slow down coming to the table. Other than that I highly recommend this place👌💯
I’ve been to Momotaro twice, and this time the overall experience was more disappointing. We had to stand around waiting with many other people because the tables were not ready at our reserved time. We were sat next to a very loud and obnoxious group, and I felt like the staff should’ve asked them to quiet down a little. Our server was mediocre. But the most disappointing was the nigiri: the rice was mushy and sticky. Just wasn’t the right texture for the fish.
This whole experience was outstanding! Every course was most delicious!
Food was excellent accommodating vegans and omnivores with a variety of choices.
Great food and atmosphere but people at front desk need to be retrained. I had the reservation at 20:00 pm but they made me wait until 20:25pm. They didn’t prepare my table until I asked them couple times.
I have been Momotaro several times, and this is the 1st time I was treated like this.
This restaurant has been changed after became popular?
Great place, delicious food with vibrant atmosphere.
Great service, good food and ambiance! Cant wait to be back
Great food and atmosphere, perfect for a night out. Service was attentive and made quality recommendations. Bit on the expensive side.
This is just the best and most creative Japanese restaurant in America. When I come to Chicago, I go there and it is the highlight of my visit
