Came again after a few years, last time I experienced Ko it was still at the old place with the much smaller counter.
The food was great as always, Ko never disappoints. We opted to share a wine pairing and I must say that some choices are a little funky, very tasty but sometimes hard to fully enjoy. So if adventurous spirits are not your thing, got for a good bottle of wine or sake.
The atmosphere is still pretty great, I kinda liked the old Ko was super intimate and you could speak more to the chef, but this occasion we went with friends, so we were not paying as much attention as other times.
Overall, if you get the chance, do come. It is one of the best tasting menus I´ve had, even the desserts were awesome.
It is everything they say!
Everything was impeccable. With a meal at this price point it's hard not to wonder if it's going to be worth it, and it was absolutely worth every penny. My only suggestion would be to turn the music down just a touch. Without written menus, it was hard to really appreciate some of the dishes as we couldn't hear the cook's description. The printed menus given to us at the end of the night were a nice touch to help remember what we'd just experienced.
about as extraordinary as any meal you could possibly have from top to bottom. an extremely memorable meal made possible by a friendly staff and personable chefs.
Awesome. I took my thirteen year old son for lunch on a Sunday. We were visiting NYC on a boys weekend and he got to pick all the activities. He chose M ko after an exhaustive internet search. Per se and Jean Georges lost out. Everyone at the restaurant treated him like a Prince and we got a tour of the kitchens and got to take a picture with the chefs. The food was delicious and inventive. Presentation artful. Deserts were a very interesting mix of sweet and savory. I never would have thought that frozen foie grad could be used for desert. I do not have the wine paring as I was alone with my son but the sommelier was very helpful in pairing a few wines by the glass. These were excellent. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. I have put it on my favorites list. It is without question a foodies restaurant and has a price tag to match (well worth it.
A truly exceptional culinary experience from start to finish. A must.
We had a fabulous experience. Dining there was the only thing planned in our trip from Montana and they did not disappoint. You don't have to be an 'adventurous' eater to enjoy, one or two bites of each dish from the tasting menu is the way to go. Then you can decide how adventurous you truly want to be.
Unbelievable experience. Staff was outstanding, with the food inventive and delicious at the same time.
Amazing and inspiring food. From the decor to the staff everything was thought out and perfect.
Food is very bad. Wine is very bad. Hard liquor is very bad. Good service. Don’t go. By a new TV set and order a pizza.
I became a woman last night at Ko. The hype is real. Be sure to get the wine pairing, it is hands down the best pairing selections I have EVER had accompany a meal.
This place is truly special. A must-do in NYC.
Superbe expérience culinaire, dans un cadre très agréable,
avec un service excellent. Un grand plaisir de regarder les plats en train d’être cuisinés sous nos yeux et des saveurs d’une grande originalité.
Nous y retournerons sans aucun doute.
There is a lot of hype around this restaurant. For the price $1000/couple including tip with wine pairings — I’ve had better food. Happy we tried it. Don’t need to go back. Service was amazing.
I had high expectations of this restaurant and was disappointed. A lot of the dishes were over-salted and one (poached egg with caviar) had no flavour despite being salty as well. Whilst the ambience is great (retro tunes with a great view of food prep, quite buzzing), the service was lacklustre. Dishes and their matched wines were served without any real explanation or guidance. The staff were polite but didn't come across at all interested in my experience. Those things, tied in with the very high price (nearly US$500 for one) left me very unimpressed.
We've been to all of the Momofuku restaurants and figured we'd give Ko a try for an anniversary dinner. Really nice experience, but the fish/artichoke dish was lacking sadly. For the cost, I wanted to be wowed at every course, but not this time. Still, great dishes otherwise and nice service.
We really enjoyed our experience at Momofuku Ko! The food was amazing, the service was excellent. I am excited to try all of David Chang's restaurants.
Top quality, amazing atmosphere and great to see he chefs do there work
The staff was really inventive and very friendly and the food was not only good but allowed the tasters a chance to experience new and innovative flavor combinations
a truly excellent meal - matched by the service and chef interaction
Absolutely incredible meal. It was the most inventive menu I’ve experienced, and everything was just delicious. Service was wonderful and they handled my multiple allergies impeccably (to be expected, but always nice to not feel like I’m not missing out on dishes). We spent about 3 hours all in and had the best time. Highly recommend.
Absolutely fabulous! Had high expectations and they were exceeded. Terrific in all respects!
A very different experience of fine dining, only to be compared to dinners we had in Japan.
We enjoy watching Dave Chang’s television shows and wanted to experience his passion by visiting one of his premier NYC restaurants. The unique style and upfront observation of the chefs preparing the dishes was fantastic to watch. Although we have had other unique food experiences this ranks high overall.
Thank you to your hosts for keeping it personal and fun.
The food was interesting, creative, unexpected, lovingly crafted, and delicious. It was a long affair--many courses and a couple of wine pairings. I think there were 3 deserts! But every dish was memorable. It was a great meal. We went for a late seating at the counter, which lent itself to fun watching the dishes being crafted and plated. Conversation was comfortable. I enjoyed this special dinner.
The food and service were excellent. All of the staff were really friendly, knowledgeable, and very accommodating.
Awesome atmosphere and very entertaining. Wonderful experience
Best dining experience ever, really really enjoyable
Huge amounts of food! We ate 12 courses and thought they were close to wrapping it up. Then they brought out half a duck, then 3 courses after that. All the food was extremely good. The service was impeccable. They didn’t try to up sell us on the wine, and were great with recommendations. Just very friendly and professional staff. Would recommend to anyone.
This was such a wonderful experience. The GM was very attentive and elevated our dining experience. We arrived at 12:30 and every part of our meal was perfectly orchestrated by the kitchen staff. The food was amazing, and I highly recommend the wine pairing. The wines were unique and the cocktails were hand crafted. I won't forget this meal.
Recommended by a former New York chef now living in Vancouver.....his favourite restaurant in New York and we were lucky enough to get a reservation! The entire evening and experience was world class...the food the finest ever...Thxs to the entire team...all the special touches were noted! Cheers from Victoria B C Canada.
First time here, and we never leave reviews, but have been let down by too many places recently - Momofuku Ko, however, did not disappoint in any measure! The food was exemplary, the service was attentive and accommodating without being intrusive, and the staff treats everyone with a warmth that made us feel like we were being welcomed into their homes.
The staff was welcoming and wonderful and really made dinner an effortless experience for our anniversary celebration
This was one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. The food was spectacular & everyone we came in contact was amazing. It was mesmerizing watching everyone cook for us. I loved how they explained each dish to us.
The food and service was amazing. Totally worth it for a special occasion. Better than 11 Madison park and other similar spots IMHO.
Perfect and surprising
Kind and proffesional approa h
A special unique restaurant offering multiple courses of outstanding food and wonderful service. Interesting that there is nothing commercial about the outside or inside décor, lots of black with wood accents. Only very special wines and a huge selection priced accordingly. You will have a dining experience that you will remember for a long time and you'll pay for it. The counter seating was roomy and comfortable and a great view of the food preparation.
Loved it - as always 🤩
Consistently among the best in NY. The new layout is fantastic. Loved everything about our time there.
