Excellent food. Service is not great. For the price you pay, you should not have to grab someone’s attention for drinks menu.
And for the price you pay, when a dish is supposed to come with a basket of bread, you shouldn’t have to remind someone that they forgot to give it to you.
It is a culinary experience. I would highly recommend a dinner. The service and food were top shelf.
Try it you will love it.
Incredible, personalized service, creative food, and impressive wine pairings.
Fantastic! Great food from start to finish! Wish I was able to take a slice of that peach pie home with me
Absolutely awesome food! The tastes are so straight forward, and honest, and pure!
The wine (which we ordered by the bottle) was so lovely and fitted perfectly with the dishes!
The staff is absolutely jovial, open and helpful!
The vibe is just awesome!
We'll be back!
In NYC? You must go... period. Amazing experience and food to die for. Perfect execution and staff.
Unbelievable decor, service and food. I would highly recommend you spend a few extra bucks to experience this....experience.
This is THE WORST Michelin two stars I have ever tried in my entire life. The food was just terrible. Definitely not worth it. NEVER TRY!
Unbelievable. Words can’t do this place justice. Just go.
out of this world amazing. we had a great time. We loved hearing first hand from the chefs about the meal.
the entire team was great!
Sitting at the counter and watching them cook and prep the food was amazing.
I came in with extremely high hopes for an unreal dining experience. I knew this would be something I do just once while in nyc and made reservations based on a friend who had the best meal of his life. With so many dining options in nyc for the price I expected much more. First I enjoyed the intimate venue and the open kitchen The Somm was spot on with great wine recommendations. However perhaps my expectations were just too high. The music was too loud to hear the descriptions of each dish. After 2 tasting menus at Gary danko and 10000 waves in Santa Fe I would sadly place mr Chang’s experience not on par with those 2. I do understand the menu recently changed and this may just reflect my individual taste but each course was interesting but only one or two outstanding. I found the slow roasted ribeye a bit over done without the flavor I expected from well aged beef. Personally I would only recommend 2 or three of the courses as quite outstanding. Again it was by no means a terrible experience but with so many options in nyc I could not recommend momofuku ko without reservations to others for a dining destination worth the price.
Fantastic from A - Z. Service perfect and many flavour surprises. Will definitely return!
Juxtapositions begin to flow in harmony until it becomes one with everything is what Momofuko Ko means to me. Maybe I am overreaching, but if you observe the yin and yang symbol swirl into one gray spot and the boundary of the symbol dissolves with what is outside of the boundary until it is a part of everything. This is my dining experience at Momofuku Ko. It is done brilliantly, as each dish presents a couple of initial ideas that are inherently different that come together and gives birth to something novel, which blends into you and then what is around you. In the culinary world one could call it fusion, however, this experience transcends this notion and makes me think of entropy.
The exquisite Danish yellowtail with cubanelle, dashi and aspic served after the four amuse-bouches is one example. It is presented in the spirit of sushi while purposefully offering a thought of the Nordic region. The first bite brought nostalgia of headcheese, which is a personal experience and very possibly accidental. After some reflection, now the food is absorbed within me, and its molecules are not simply something that disappears or rents space in you. The food helps me think, move and cause “accidental” interactions with the world such as sharing this. Now you have read this and it continues to blend into the universe, as you will have your own experiences that you will share or not share. Hence, it becomes something new, as it continues to morph with its old parts within.
An edgy world-class dining experience is to be expected at Momofuku Ko. All dishes could be someone’s favorite, and my personal highlights were ko egg, hake steamed in cabbage, and the razor clam with pineapple and basil. Lastly, I forgot to capture a photo of the beef and tomato dish, as I got too excited. Sorry. Anyway, I will visit again to experience the wonderful food and friendly staff that makes this a world-class restaurant.
An absolutely incredible experience on every level. Tasting menu is worth every penny. Excellent service and engagement from both FOH and cooks. Take a moment to start up conversation with them and you won’t regret it!! Shoutout to Grace, Matt, Stevie, Gabrielle, and Arthur!!
It was awesome.
Excellent food and restaurant. It’s always a very good option to go
We went to NY (from DC) to celebrate our anniversary at “Ko”. We enjoyed a lot about their food and the wine paring, and their service, of course. Especially, I (Japanese) loved the way to use Dashi (Umami) and their timing to serve next dish. We really enjoyed the moment...Arigato!
P.S. I wanted to have their shrimp dish wi Sake! I will definitely do it next time :-)
Wonderful experience! The tasting menu is very carefully prepared to please your taste buds and your eyes. It’s very enjoyable to see your food being prepared and served right away to you. Every dish is a surprise. The chef plays with ingredients, temperature, texture to make it an exciting experience. This is is achieved with ingredients that are primarily locally sourced or cultivated. The service is impeccable and pleasant. The young chefs are a delight to watch. They perform in front of your eyes with such dedication and professionalism at the same time looking very cool and at ease in their environment.
There was nothing disappointing with all the expectations. The service was remarkable, the food amazing and the warmth of the experience not expected. They asked if it was an occasion which is was, my anniversary and they gave us a complimentary glass of sparkling wine at the start and menus to take home with "Happy 5th Anniversary" at the end of dinner.
Blaring heavy metal playlist. Several of the dishes under seasoned and bland - and yes I’ve had kaiseki before. Massively overpriced. I was blown away really by the disconnect between the reputation of the restaurant and the reality.
We had an amazing, unforgettable experience. Every course was thoughtfully prepared and beautifully presented. We were completely blown away! The ingredients were unique and interesting. The staff was so warm and welcoming that we can't wait to go back. Sous Chef Houston accommodated our food allergies and made us feel like VIPs. We can't rave enough about the entire experience.
Love this place. Love the food . Super cool fun talk to the chefs
This was a fantastic experience, from the entrance to the exit. Everyone we encountered was delightful, from the hostess, to the chefs, to the servers, etc. The food was exceptional, creative and artistic. We had around 13-15 courses in about a 3 hour time span. It did not feel like that long at all. The music was fun and being able to watch the preparation was entertaining. The food is pricey, but we knew that going in. If you want a distinctive experience with phenomenal food, Ko is a must!
exceptional food and service at a premium price. well worth the wait and costs.
The food and service were spectacular! The staff was incredibly warm and accommodating. I was blown away by the food and inventive flavor combinations.
The dinning course was awesome, the food was delicious and elaborated. But we were really expecting more from “the experience” itsef. The service was really bad, totally not focused on the client. It makes no sense. We had much better experiences in other similar restaurants. We won’t come back.
Excellent adventurous food, great wine, and great service.
Everything was great
If they carried halal meat it would have been perfect
Fabulous! The food and service were wonderful
Great overall experience. The staff was amazingly friendly and did a great job!
Holiday / special birthday
Second time at Ko, always an amazing experience. Amazing food, and service. Loved the music selection the day we ate there too (Weezer blue album 👍🏽).
Food was out of this world!
Only weak point was the porchetta. Otherwise a fabulous evening. We'd been trying to get a res for years.
What a tremendous experience. The food and service were fantastic. Manager Su and beverage manager Arthur are at the top of their game. We thoroughly enjoyed watching the kitchen team expertly putting together each of the fourteen (yes fourteen) courses.
Serving this many courses takes a high level of skill. In addition to maintaining a timely flow of food - the menu also has to flow - service has to also flow. Momofuku’s team does this expertly combining great culinary skill with warm approachable service.
Can’t recommend this place highly enough.
Great balance between food, ambiance (music) and seatings all arround the kitchen. The beverage are very well selected and match the surprising cuisine.
Check the photos!
One Friday afternoon I had an itch to solo dine and pull the trigger on finally going to Ko Counter! I checked and checked until a seat for 1 opened soon after 6, booked, and took the train in from Long Island!
The meal was excellent, as is to be expected, but the incredible wine pairings and the new friend I made in the kind manager after the incredible meal sealed this as one of the greatest Michelin level experiences in NYC.
