Amazing as usual! We make an extra trip every year to visit Momofuku Ko. It never disappoints!!
I used to dine a Ko a lot. It was very exciting with excellent, new dishes along with a few regulars.
Now there are more regulars and the entire meal is merely very good.
It may be that the chef de cuisine was not in the house..
The music used to be fun. Now it's just loud.
The attitude of the support staff from when you arrive until you leave is unndessarily unwelcoming. So much millennial vibe.
The wines are superb and this is the only thing left of the Ko that I used to know.
Not going back so fast. Too bad.
Amazing food. Unforgettable experience. The beef and peppercorn is the best beef I’ve ever tasted
We were happy to eat at Ko, beautifull dishes and very tastefull. The showcooking is a nice extra to the cool environment! Overall we had a superb diner!
The only important remark we can make is : ‘cool should not be chilled’. We were seated in the corner close to the door and it felt uncomfortable cold. We mentioned this and was anticipated very kindly with a blanked (so probably not the first time someone complained), but no other seating was offered. I booked the restaurant 30days in advance, so it wasn’t a last minute...
Honestly i was disappointed. I went to three 2 star restaurants in 3 days with my mother who was visiting and this was our least favourite. Dishes are overpowered by one ingredient every time, the duck dish is a lot to take as part of a 15 course dinner. The fois gras dish was the highlight i have to say but nothing else is really memorable. The music was blasting and we could hardly hear the waiters telling us what we were eating let alone have a conversation. Im surprised this place got their second star renewed. You can find much better fine dining with an edge in the city for the same or cheaper.
Everything was wonderful except the music choices, played mostly rap which was not the demographic of the people eating
One of the best tasting menus I have ever had. Definitely the best duck I have ever had. The presentation of the food was lovely. Staff very knowledgeable and friendly.
Best meal of my life.
Totally worth the investment. Amazing experience!
Everyone was super friendly and personable. Truly cared about how we were enjoying the experience and loved that we were celebrating our anniversary with them. The food was obviously incredible!
It was not perfect, but memorable. Give it a try.
The dishes at Momofuku Ko were unique and well presented but, unfortunately, no single dish was exceptional. We left just full enough, but we were quite underwhelmed with the experience. Honestly, if this menu was around 150pp i'd maybe go back, but it wasn't anywhere near worth the cost when compared to what you would get at an equivalent. Also, the drinks list needs work - a limited selection and the not having non-alcoholic beverages (coffee etc) included in the degustation cost was a total suprise and quite frankly, a little tacky. The staff did put in effort to connect with us, but it felt quite forced and that everyone was trying to create some sort of "experience", i'm still not sure what it was though.. We left feeling confused by the evening and, to me, it was all very manipulated and lacked heart. I'm sorry to say that I would not reccomend this for a special evening to remember.
So good! And original.
Very nice lunch. Excellent food, friendly service, wonderful to see the chefs at work and to interact with them. We had the wine pairing, which was very exciting as they have two different teas and a sake. It was beautiful. The service could not have been friendlier, we got a complimentary glass of sparkling wine for our anniversary. It made the occasion all the more special.
Wonderful experience at the counter. Staff calm and professional. Lighthearted and engaging. Lovely to see them enjoy their work allowing us to enjoy our food even more seeing their passion. The music hit all the right notes for a fantastic evening with my daughter and wife. Perfect combinations of food, family, staff, and environment. Only thing was a touch cold but was offered nice warm blanket. The way me pairing helped too! Thank you for the memorable evening!
Savoury is average, no wow factor. Dessert is superb.
I think the food was revolutionary when they first started. but no longer compelling to try.
It was great!
A truly unforgettable experience that will be your new benchmark for genius food and excellent service...to the detriment of most other restaurants.
The food was fantastic and the open kitchen cinematic, but the people working here left the most lasting impression. Every single person, chefs, servers, captains - were all so engaging, warm and friendly. Chefs answered questions while they worked (under pressure) sharing technique and ingredient information. Servers were both personal and conversational yet invisible when necessary. Everyone made us feel so welcome. Hospitality Perfected!!!!
Overrated and truly bad value for money. Good wine list but very arrogant sommelier.
Second time coming and did not disappoint. Wonderful food and great service. Did not leave hungry and worth every cent.
All 12 courses (actually, 14 if you include the palate cleanser and special birthday dessert) were beyond our expectations. My partner and I travelled from Toronto to New York for this unique experience, and are glad that we did because we were blown away! Service was impeccable- from the minute we were greeted by the Maitre D at the door, to the minute we left. The team is young, extremely professional, and know how to go out of their way to make their guests feel special. Dinner for two plus beverages will easily run you almost a month’s rent, but that’s to be expected with the quality and service provided at this Michelin- star restaurant. We also received souvenir copies of the menu, complementary digestivos from the manager, and miniature desserts to take home- which were all lovely touches! Go for a special occasion, go with an open mind, and go HUNGRY! This was an experience we will never forget, and we hope to be back the next time we’re in NYC.
Très créatif. Excellente expérience.
I brought my fiance for her birthday and she said it was her best birthday ever so that pretty much says it all. She is gluten free so instead of a birthday cake, they gave her a birthday steak! You are made to feel very special by everyone working there and the music is on point. Wish we could go once a month...future goals.
It's a once in a lifetime experience! Everything about Momofuku Ko was perfect! From the food to the drink pairing, presentation, music and staff, we were blown away. The staff was extremely friendly, energetic and knowledgeable, making the experience that much better. We would highly recommend!
Amazing waitstaff, everyone from the kitchen we spoke to was great. Food was very disappointing, as was the pairing. For the price a total joke, would not recommend certainly never returning. Stick with the Momofuku Noodle Bar fried chicken dinner!
I was most impressed with the Originality of the recipes involved in each dish. I also was totally blown away at how spot on the wine and tea pairings with each course were for me. Very attentive to details here. Exquisite sensibility to Mel flavours together sensibly and creatively. Very unique meal, multiple courses was nicel times. Server was sincerely interested in my liking my experience overall. Which I loved!
One of the best meals and experiences with some of the best staff in a restaurant I’ve ever encountered! Couldn’t recommend it enough!
This was one of the best dining experiences I have had for a long time.
Everything was superb! Thank you
Worth every penny and beyond the hype. Counter seating is amazing because you get to watch preparation and chat with the team.
This time we celebrated a birthday and wanted to him to experience something different and unique. The entrance was different from the last time we dined here about 2 years ago. The counter seating had enough space not to be over crowded, but enough space not to be on top of the chefs. I enjoyed most of the dishes and always happy to hear chef explain what was served. The interaction with the chef was good, but I think I would like more interaction, but that is me. Part of the experience is to learn how they sourced the foods. I do like when they explain how something is prepared. 2 ingredients that surprised me was with a dish that had shaved frozen fois gras and the other dish with wild rice ice cream. It amazes me how much food is served and I would love more of a particular dish, but there is a progression to be had, and unfortunately, eating one dish too much can impact the next dish. Overall, I would definitely visit again!
Food was okay but
amazing food, cocktails, wine and staff super friendly!
Incredible! Must try in NYC. Thanks for a great time.
I had high expectations for Momofuku Ko and it easily surpassed expectations. The tasting menu was creative, well-executed and most importantly delicious. Each course was different from the last & constructed in the perfect progression.
The meal started with a single "sour cream and onion" chip (pomme soufflé). Served warm and freshly fried with a cool sour cream filling! This starter is the reason you should never judge a book by its cover; I never would've expected a "chip" to be one of my favorite bites … ever. Other highlights include the Razor clam, apple & basil consommé - masterfully balancing the sweet, sour, savory and umami tastes. The Chicken Oyster was fried to golden perfection. Delicate, rich, melt in your mouth chicken! The Wild Rice and Kombu ice cream was a textural masterpiece of creamy yet crisp flavors...and just one of the exquisite desserts.
The staff was super friendly and genuine. They explained the dishes, answered questions, chatted and made the experience memorable. Ko is a relaxed environment with great music and an inviting vibe. A refreshing detour from some of the pretentious high-end restaurants that are overly concerned with following the "rules". If you get the opportunity to visit Momofuku Ko, take it. You won't be disappointed!
Good Restaurant, very good food, good drinks. Too expensive for serving what they serve.
The food was really good thats the fact but for 500 dollars is too much.
In the words of Anthony Bourdain, "holy s#*t"
I've been to many New York Michelin starred restaurants with expensive tasting menus -- Eleven Madison, Chef's Table at Brooklyn Fare, Le Bernadin -- and never have I had dishes that were truly not delicious. Of the 10 courses at Ko, a solid 50% were not good. My date literally didn't eat two of them. The main course, dry aged lamb, was tough to the point of inedible and what's worse you can watch them cooking and making mistakes. Our lamb was left to rest, usually a 5-10 minute process, for over an hour. It ended up rubbery and flavorless. When paying $350 for a meal, before drinks, that's unacceptable. Of the things we ate only two were memorable -- a smoked egg and caviar dish that David Chang over a decade ago -- and a marmelade tart with cheese. That's it. The rest were, at best, fine. I will never return and would never recommend this restaurant. There are options for 1/3 the price -- I'd suggest Contra -- that are twice or three times as good.
Nothing short of a top-tier culinary experience. David Chang outdoes himself with the Ko version of his Momofuku franchise. 14 courses of incredibly creative and impeccably executed dishes. My personal favorite was the first of the dessert courses: foie gras, lychee and riesling jelly in a graham crisp cup, covered in grated foie. Unexpected and delightful explosion of flavour in your mouth.
The staff are top notch and clearly well-trained. Throughout the service, you are witness to the true meaning of teamwork, from the chefs behind the counter to the bus staff filling your water and taking away your dishes. The consistent service delivery and the attention to detail were astounding, I cannot compliment the team enough.
Congratulations guys on delivering an incredible experience, as much in the kitchen as in the dining room (counter). Keep up the great work!
