Very good experience, deserve the 2 stars!
Incredible. Worth the price
Delicious, inventive fare in a casual, yet refined setting. A must go to spot for any foodie.
We had an awesome experience. The staff were so attentive and friendly. Of course the food was phenomenal. We had gone to the original Ko many years ago, and this was a wonderful second coming.
If only we could afford to come here more often! But you can see why, with so many chefs preparing your food right in front of you. Tip: The wine pairing is more than enough for 2 or 3 people to share. In fact, there is so much wine that 4 moderate drinkers could share it.
Excellent food , great service and cool ambiance!
It was delicious and innovative food
Been a while since I’ve been to Ko (last went in 2010 at the old location)...the general experience was good but the food was a bit of a let down. The dishes were fairly generic NY Times list selections of things that might be considered “peculiar” but were generally just overly rich and unremarkable. Obviously it’s been a long time (since 2010), but the menu used to be more focused on savory and just all around delicious dishes...that said, the service and ambiance were still fantastic. I personally enjoy the bigger venue relative to the old one but can see the merits of the smaller intimate setting of the old location. Either way though, the service and ambiance exceeded expectations again and made for a very enjoyable experience.
Overall dishes were too salty (even the desserts!) which spoiled this dining experience for us. Very disappointed considering the reputation and price of this restaurant. We won’t be returning or recommending this place.
An absolutely amazing dining experience. Have eaten at multiple 1, 2, and 3 Michelin star restaurants in the past month and this was easily my favorite. Highly highly recommend!!
To the team at Momofuku Ko,
Thank you for such a wonderful and gracious experience at your restaurant. The food, ambiance, and service was impeccable. I loved the open kitchen and the immaculate and precise preparation of our entire meal. We traveled from Texas to have your tasting menu and it is by far the most wonderful meal my partner and I have ever had. From the meticulous plating and presentation, to the incredible staff in the kitchen and on the floor, it was all around an outstanding few hours spent in your company. My hat goes off to every single employee at Momofuku and to the amazing David Chang (fan girl moment).
I thank all of you for your work in making this the prime highlight of our trip to New York City.
With Warm Regards,
Laura Calderon and Trevor Stephenson
What a wonderful meal, one of the best of my life! We had the tasting menu with drinks pairing, all courses and drinks were outstanding. The 6 weeks aged meat was super tender and yummy. The ambiance was great and quite relaxed - nice 80s and rap music - and the service was spot on. Would definitely recommend, even though the price is quite high. Once in a lifetime experience!
Wonderful dining experience. Great food, service and ambiance. 9pm seating was ideal. Stayed until 12:30. Never felt rushed. Everything exquisite and tailored to your tastes.
Very very good.
For this price it should be somewhere between amazing and wonderful. Which it wasn't.
Excellent sushi chef, Cozun. Probably the best I've ever experienced, and I've been in many traditional Japanese sushi restaurants. If you're looking for atmosphere " quote " don't go. If you're looking for amazing skill and amazing food and you're willing to pay the price for such a thing. Please go.
Everything was amazing. Such a splashy fun experience.
It’s the best. I come here every time I visit NYC
This was my second time at Momofuku Ko. I was there last year as well. The tasting menu dishes changed little. Still great. The counter seats still offer one of the most exciting dining experiences available in NYC. Wine list was comprehensive and service was 5 star worthy. Here's something to improve upon: reduce the amount of weirdness; by that I mean there were flavors from a few of the dishes I don't know whether to consider good or bad. It was my first time trying shrimp tartar; not sure I would try that again. The dry-aged beef slices more than made up for that though.
What a fantastic dining experience. Love the vibe; comfortable seats in a sexy space right in front of the action. Was so much fun watching the chefs work their magic in front of you and they were super friendly anytime we had a question. Not a single dud in the 15 or so courses, most of which were really interesting and/or incredibly delicious. Nice balance between seafood and meats and the desserts were on par with the savories. Just the right amount of food to be well satisfied but not overstuffed. Great service, lots of spacing between parties and a very reasonable value between the intimacy, number of courses and quality of the ingredients. Well worth the splurge.
OH THAT RAW PRAWN AND FRIED PRAWN HEAD...
AND THE SIX WEEK AGED SIRLOIN SLICES...
AND THE LYCHEE PINENUT TART WITH FROZEN SHAVED FOIE GRAS....
EVERYTHING WAS SPECTACULAR!
Sorry for the caps. It was that good!
The staff was super attentive and very nice. The food was amazing and the overall experience was fantastic.
Came again after a few years, last time I experienced Ko it was still at the old place with the much smaller counter.
The food was great as always, Ko never disappoints. We opted to share a wine pairing and I must say that some choices are a little funky, very tasty but sometimes hard to fully enjoy. So if adventurous spirits are not your thing, got for a good bottle of wine or sake.
The atmosphere is still pretty great, I kinda liked the old Ko was super intimate and you could speak more to the chef, but this occasion we went with friends, so we were not paying as much attention as other times.
Overall, if you get the chance, do come. It is one of the best tasting menus I´ve had, even the desserts were awesome.
It is everything they say!
Everything was impeccable. With a meal at this price point it's hard not to wonder if it's going to be worth it, and it was absolutely worth every penny. My only suggestion would be to turn the music down just a touch. Without written menus, it was hard to really appreciate some of the dishes as we couldn't hear the cook's description. The printed menus given to us at the end of the night were a nice touch to help remember what we'd just experienced.
about as extraordinary as any meal you could possibly have from top to bottom. an extremely memorable meal made possible by a friendly staff and personable chefs.
Awesome. I took my thirteen year old son for lunch on a Sunday. We were visiting NYC on a boys weekend and he got to pick all the activities. He chose M ko after an exhaustive internet search. Per se and Jean Georges lost out. Everyone at the restaurant treated him like a Prince and we got a tour of the kitchens and got to take a picture with the chefs. The food was delicious and inventive. Presentation artful. Deserts were a very interesting mix of sweet and savory. I never would have thought that frozen foie grad could be used for desert. I do not have the wine paring as I was alone with my son but the sommelier was very helpful in pairing a few wines by the glass. These were excellent. I recommend this restaurant without hesitation. I have put it on my favorites list. It is without question a foodies restaurant and has a price tag to match (well worth it.
A truly exceptional culinary experience from start to finish. A must.
We had a fabulous experience. Dining there was the only thing planned in our trip from Montana and they did not disappoint. You don't have to be an 'adventurous' eater to enjoy, one or two bites of each dish from the tasting menu is the way to go. Then you can decide how adventurous you truly want to be.
Unbelievable experience. Staff was outstanding, with the food inventive and delicious at the same time.
Amazing and inspiring food. From the decor to the staff everything was thought out and perfect.
Food is very bad. Wine is very bad. Hard liquor is very bad. Good service. Don’t go. By a new TV set and order a pizza.
I became a woman last night at Ko. The hype is real. Be sure to get the wine pairing, it is hands down the best pairing selections I have EVER had accompany a meal.
This place is truly special. A must-do in NYC.
Superbe expérience culinaire, dans un cadre très agréable,
avec un service excellent. Un grand plaisir de regarder les plats en train d’être cuisinés sous nos yeux et des saveurs d’une grande originalité.
Nous y retournerons sans aucun doute.
There is a lot of hype around this restaurant. For the price $1000/couple including tip with wine pairings — I’ve had better food. Happy we tried it. Don’t need to go back. Service was amazing.
I had high expectations of this restaurant and was disappointed. A lot of the dishes were over-salted and one (poached egg with caviar) had no flavour despite being salty as well. Whilst the ambience is great (retro tunes with a great view of food prep, quite buzzing), the service was lacklustre. Dishes and their matched wines were served without any real explanation or guidance. The staff were polite but didn't come across at all interested in my experience. Those things, tied in with the very high price (nearly US$500 for one) left me very unimpressed.
We've been to all of the Momofuku restaurants and figured we'd give Ko a try for an anniversary dinner. Really nice experience, but the fish/artichoke dish was lacking sadly. For the cost, I wanted to be wowed at every course, but not this time. Still, great dishes otherwise and nice service.
We really enjoyed our experience at Momofuku Ko! The food was amazing, the service was excellent. I am excited to try all of David Chang's restaurants.
Top quality, amazing atmosphere and great to see he chefs do there work
The staff was really inventive and very friendly and the food was not only good but allowed the tasters a chance to experience new and innovative flavor combinations
