Good service and great food
We love this local spot- the food never disappoints! Chicken Tikka is our favorite
I NOTICED A LOT OF INCONSISTENCIES ON HOW THEY WERE SERVING CUSTOMERS, I.E. THEY SERVED CRACKERS AT EACH TABLE WHEN GUESTS ARRIVED BUT DID NOT DO SO FOR OUR GROUP TABLE. WE ASKED FOR HOT WATER, IT WAS POURED IN A TALL GLASS. NOT SURE HOW SOMEONE IS SUPPOSED TO DRINK HOT WATER FROM A CUT WITHOUT HANDLES. THE OWNER IS OVER FRIENDLY WITH GUESTS - IT'S LIKE HE IS TRYING TOO HARD TO GET CUSTOMERS BACK. HE WAS TRYING TO HAND US DISCOUNT COUPONS AS WE WERE LEAVING THE RESTAURANT. BY THE WAY, OUR DINNER PLATES DID NOT GET PICKUP UP TILL AFTER WE LEFT NOR WERE WE ASKED IF WE WANTED DESSERT. OUR CHECK CAME - WE PAID - AND WE LEFT. THE TABLE WAS NOT EVEN SET FOR US TILL THE TIME MY GUESTS STARTED ARRIVING AT THE RESTAURANT WHEN A RESERVATION WAS MADE IN ADVANCE. WE ALL WERE STANDING AROUND TILL THEY SHUFFLED THE TABLES TOGETHER.
Good food and great value.
Great restaurant! Really happy that they opened up in our neighborhood- great food, good prices, great service. Highly recommended!
The steamed chicken momos are delicious! Curious to try the vegetarian ones next time. I ordered the bengan bharta entree and my husband had the lamb korma. Both were yummy and portioned perfectly, but I think enjoyed my husband’s dish more. The curry tasted like it had a hint of coconut (?), which made it very fragrant and the lamb was not dry at all. Both curries had textures we appreciated that went well with the crunchy, yet soft garlic naan we had (instead of a one-dimensional creamy texture). We also had the samosa chat. I enjoyed it more than my husband did (he didn’t like the sour-ish brown sauce they put on top). Would come back to try other dishes.
We have never been here before. We were pleased with the great assistance from our Server and enjoyed the food very much. I would go again.
Food was acceptable but certainly not great. The best dish I had was lamb Rogan Josh, and I would rank it as It as just good. The palak paneer did not have the wonderful spinach-forward flavor I like—too much tomato, but the paneer itself was nicely done and in well-sized portions. The fish Korma was very disappointing, a shallow sauce instead of the rich and very complex layers of flavor in a great korma. Everything was under-flavored and greatly improved with fleur de Del finishing salt. The garlic naan was a bit doughy and soggy. Service was very slow and the ambiance is mundane—nothing offensive, just sort of stark and plain. That was not improved by being seated next to a noisy and hot refrigerator cabinet. They are just getting started, so that may improve.
I recommend you head over to Himalayan Cuisine for a much better version of this restaurant. Not on OpenTable, but should be, while Momo N Curry? Not so much.
They are a bit off the beaten track, being tucked at the back of a strip mall on Clayton Road - so I think they will get most of their customers through word of mouth. The food is quite good, the service is friendly and competent, and the prices are moderate. So pleased to have them there! BTW, there’s a Polish grocery store next door with terrific frozen pirogi to buy and take home after dinner... just saying :)
