This restaurant was amazing! Authentic food, great atmosphere, the owner was very personable. Quality ingredients. Simply delicious. We tried lots of dishes and loved all of them. The owner is also the chef so be sure to ask what specials they have or for his personal recommendations. Lots of variety in the choices so even if you are a vegetarian or gluten free, you will not have a problem finding options. Can’t wait to go back and bring friends and family.

Loved the atmosphere, warmth, and lively ambiance. Couscous ... mushy, but flavourful.

Overall, a very disappointing dining experience. The service was spotty and confusing as we had four different people delivering wine, water, food, cutlery and plates and when we asked questions about the food, none of the servers seemed familiar with the menu. The beans in the white bean stew were not cooked and instead of sending us another dish that was properly cooked, they just sent us another lentil dish which we had already ordered. They were out of their Kombucha on tap and they were out of the white wine we ordered. Another bottle of wine was brought to our table, but it was $40 more. Shouldn’t a bottle similar in price have been brought to us instead? I ordered the carrot lemon salad and it was just a bunch of cold, barely blanched cut up carrots in a bowl, no hint of lemon or spices. We also felt rushed out as we were told “people are waiting for your table”. This was never communicated to us when we arrived and it felt very rude. With so many amazing restaurants in Vancouver to choose from with excellent food and service, won’t definitely won’t be returning to this one.

The ambiance and the food is actually pretty good but the service is arguably the worst I’ve seen in a long time. Dishes come out way late, there’s no table settings, you have to ask for new plates practically clear the dishes yourself, and it’s all because the leader ship is just that poor. People are not adequately trained and the manager either needs to learn how to manage or be replaced.

This is not my first time and will not be my last time. I love bringing new people to the experience of this restaurant with the quality of aromatic spices coming up from tagine to the delcious taste of Turkish coffee to the sweets of the moracan cookies.

Food was generally good but came slow. Fun cool atmosphere with the bell dancer (Sat night). Wanted to love it but didn’t quite. Will go again though if in area.

Great meal, service and ambiance. We will definitely come again. Staff are very knowledgeable, personable and friendly. A lot of restaurants in Vancouver should take a page out of Moltaqa's playbook.

Wow! What more can I say about this place. From the moment that my party and I walked in Mimo and his team took care of us. The hospitality that his team and him showed us made us feel like we were in his house. The food was amazing and BC wines too! Our group was 12 people and he served us family style and not one person left hungry. The stories about the dish, the attention to detail they put in preparing and cooking, the spices the use, the music was energetic, and to top it off Mimo cooked it all! This place lives up to the Moroccan name. I would highly recommend this place and take the time to get to know the team as they all know what they are doing! They even have a live belly dancer on Thurs - Sat.

The food was good, not great. We felt that the tagine could be a bit more flavourful. The eggplant appetizer was tasty but it was too cold...felt like it had been stored in the refrigerator. It would taste much better at room temp. Our waitress was lovely but there was a mix up with our food order and one of our group didn't get served until 25 minutes after the rest of us. I think perhaps they need additional staff.

Excellent Service & good food. A great place for groups.

We were there for New Years dinner. It was not the best time to try a new restaurant. They did not have a full house but previous diners had not left and we had to stand and wait at the door for about one half hour. They gave us a free drink while we waited. There was a few seats at the bar that were not offered. Our waitress was lovely but inexperienced. We gave her a decent tip anyway. The food was nothing special. The starter was a salad, followed by another salad and then a small lamb sausage on an unknown vegetable. The main was in our case a lamp shank. I did not eat this and went straight to dessert. The desserts were fine. We left immediately after because we did not want to get caught in traffic with other drivers who may have been drinking. The entertainer was a very good belly dancer who gave the diners a chance to dance with her. She was a winner.

The food was good and varied with lots of different flavours. My only negative comment would be that I found several of the dishes to be overly salty. The host was great, took good care of us. I would recommend the restaurant to friends.

We had a group of 18 people, my entire family and friends enjoyed there experience. The food was delicious and the presentation was great.
We tried the Lamb shank, several different types of fish, chicken, and the vegetarian Tagine, everyone enjoyed the taste of their meal.

Excellent, fresh ingredients, prepared with great spices for real Moroccan flavors. This is one of out favorite restaurants and we dine here whenever we are back in town and, as always, Mimo was a gracious host. Bellydance performance by Lana added to the authentic experience. We really like the lentil stew and the tajine dishes, which is a closed pot that allows the flavors to to simmer slowly and fully develop. On this occasion we had the fresh fish and the vegetable tajines, both excellent. On previous visits we had the chicken and lamb tajines and these were also excellent.

Most agreed that the cost for the amount of food we got was too high. Otherwise, the quality was okay. The waitress was attentive and the ambience was very good.

We were well taken care of during our first visit to Moltaqa. My party of 6 was in town for a conference, and we loved the ambiance. Two staff checked in with us regularly and kept our glasses full, and we were shocked by the amount of food we had between 2 appetizers and 3 tagines. We all left full and happy, and appreciated the service and value we experienced.

Great experience the food was top notch and the owner came over and made conversation. Nice setting, decor and ambiance. They were very busy and a little short staffed (Owner’s words) so our last 45 minutes of the experience, left us a little disappointed. Once we got our mains, the server came by once and then we never saw anybody for 45 min. We certainly would’ve had a special coffee and desert. Overall the food was great and we will come back and dine.
