For the high price you definitely get a great view but that’s it -the service is only fair (entrees of four guests come out at different times, no cheese requested on salad not remembered, wrong appetizer landed on our table), the gluten free option was pasta.- no bread or veggies to dip in the hummus appetizer, the food was uneven and some dishes very lacking in flavor (grilled calamari tasty fishy, mushy and bland). And the noise! Party going on upstairs with thumping DJ loud and clear, and many boisterous party tables with balloons and favors. It felt like eating in the midst of someone’s sweet sixteen. When Molos fist opened, the food was very fine and fresh, the service elegant. I think they have overreached their capacity. Maybe changed hands? And oh yes, there was a pair of black panties under one of our party’s chair. You can’t make this up!
Molos is a great restaurant with delicious food and a unique and beautiful ambiance. My only critiques are the waiters/servers can be more enthusiastic as they appear bored. Also, when there is a party upstairs, the music bleeds downstairs into the dining room. However, this won’t keep us from coming back.
It makes me sad to review this place so low because the ambience is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING, the food was good and the price is really not bad at all... BUT the service was just not up to par... we had to ask for more bread literally 4 times and ask for water twice until we finally went and grabbed a pitcher on our own. Which then prompted the manager to have someone come fill up everyone’s glass. Our reservation was at 830pm which we arrived at 820pm. We didn’t get our food until 10pm and 3 items we had ordered never made it to our table and we had to ask them to remove it from the bill. Our waiter was very nice and I could tell he was trying to provide good service but I’m not sure if he was just overwhelmed or short staffed but it just wasn’t good service. Which is why it makes me sad to give the review I am. Because if the service was on point this place would be an easy 5 stars.
This was our second trip back to Molos. The seafood is always fresh and of excellent quality. The view of the NY Skyline is breathtaking! Worth every minute. The whole family enjoyed their evening at Molos.
Food and service was great , wine was great and reasonably priced, desert wasn’t good we had the molten chocolate cake and the bottom was burnt other then that the place was lovely and view was amazing
This place did not disappoint. Atmosphere was very nice - very stylish and modern. Service was friendly, interesting, attentive and impeccable. Really appreciated being told that one of the waiters was in training. His service was first-rate, but it gave us the impression that the place cares about its service. Food was interesting and very high quality. Loved the flambe saganaki in particuylar. I took the diver scallops, which were perhaops a bit plain. But I liked the squid ink risotto.
Fantastic Greek wine too...
All in all - a great choice.
Nice place to celebrate Thanksgiving
I have been to many restaurants, from the most upscale and otherwise and this one is different in many ways.
I can honestly say and without hesitation that the service, along with the great friendly staff, is second to none!
The ambiance is very very casual, so if you are thinking about a romantic dinner date, this is not the one at all.
The uniqueness of this restaurant is the location. It can’t get any better than a piece of real estate along the water, and overlooking the Manhattan skyline. Kudos to the Chef, the seafood is excellent. We had the shrimp cocktail, stuffed shrimp, crab cakes, and the lobster pasta all excellent choices...highly recommend.
It is a little pricey but you are paying for both the location and the meal. The restaurant is very noisy, similarly to a large family on one of the large holidays. The valet parking costs you $5 in cash upfront. The valet workers are the only non-friendly individuals onsite.
Highly recommended for a family get together, a business lunch or dinner, the scenic inspiration.
Friendly staff, outstanding view, and fresh, delicious seafood! Don't even get me started on dessert! Will definitely be back to Molos, hungry for more!
Gorgeous view and pretty good drinks, but unfortunately that's all this place has going for it. The food is sub-par to downright bland, depending what you order. Tried this place twice just to give it another shot and will not be returning. The food is WAY to expensive for the flavor that's delivered. You're literally paying for the view.
Fabulous dining experience! Amazing view of New York City. Food was wonderful.... authentic Greek! Looking forward to our next meal at Molos!
As always FABULOUS
I had been to Molos 3 or 4 times previously and thought the food was worth the splurge. Not so this time. Food was disappointing and definitely not worth the high prices.
The waiter was not care about our order and the mussels in our “sea food w orzo” were all closed. As a good gourmet and food lover I understand that sea food closed shell is it a good sign of freshness.
I have also order. Side dish of collar greens but it never made to our table.
To cover the incidents the manager offered a dessert for free!
Well this was my second visit after my wonderful first experience. I hope I can forget this time and keep in mind my first impression. CG
Much better than the other seafood place in Weehawken or. Many other New York seafood places. Almost did not choose it because Yelp. Glad to find it for team dinner
I love this restaurant
The service is usually on point but Saturday nights sometimes is an issue
Each time we do they seem to have a problem by
Every dish was perfect. View was spectacular. It would have been perfect but for the sense that the wait staff (mostly the bus boy and girl) were a bit confused offering us a different table's food early in our meal and throwing away food instead of wrapping my daughter's left overs to go as we tried to ask them to do. The food and the view more than made up for that. It appeared they were going to have dancing and were setting up a sound system as we left on Friday night. I wish we had been able to stay out looked like fun. Without the dancing, the noise level made it hard to hear each other telling stories at the table so be ready for energetic raised voice conversations. The food was honestly the best that any of us had eaten in our lives. Lamb - soft like butter. Lobster - tender and rich with gentle flavor. Scallops - perfect and fresh. They are masters of seafood. Even the raw clams in the seafood platter were delicious and I don't like raw clams. Chocolate lava cake was very good. They didn't rush us. Waiter made an effort to provide lemon finger bowls after our appetizer and fresh cloth napkins. I could imagine a dream wedding reception taking place here. The view of Manhattan was breath - taking. Highly recommend. Also very good value especially for lunch.
People are very nice but Service is too slow, looks like they forgot you for 10 minutes until you call them.
Unbeatable lunch set menu at $20 only ! (Starter, entree, dessert)
Fantastic view on the river and the skyline,
Beautiful & modern decoration, relatively quiet to enjoy conversation with your guests without the noise from all other tables.
I definitely recommend, but if you don’t have too much time be very clear from beginning because they are slow for the service.
The location is great. But the food should be better.
The food was ok this time around. I was sad that they took chicken off the menu.
Excellent craft cocktails. Best views of the River and NYC! Genuine hospitality.
We most enjoyed sharing the variety of small plates and appetizers (with the delicious cocktails).
My server was terrible. Je had zero personality and got my order wrong 2x. Did not bring an appetiser then do not order my meat cooked properly and never even
We really like the environment and food there but, we've had a few mishaps the last two times we went. Once I found a hair in my scrambled eggs. I get it. It happens. But, I did expect a little more concern from the waiter or management. Not even an "I'm sorry".
Second time, two plates set at the table were dirty. Enough that I don't understand how whoever set the table didn't notice.
It's just shame because we like bringing our family and friends there but, obviously things like that throw you off.
Place has definitely been upgraded. First best view of any restaurant in nj. Food was quite good and the rest had a very good vibe Expensive but add good food good service with great ambiance and almost worth it. Ps we sat there for over 3 hours never did they rush us or stop filling water and drinks. Well done
I went with a friend. Food was simply delicious. I got lamb and my friend steak. The atmosphere is nice. The view spectacular. Music not to loud that allows you to talk.
It wasn't as good as I remembered. I was really disappointed since it was my husband's first time there and it was our anniversary. I kept telling him Molo's was good. I had better experience when we went there for business dinner lunch. Granted I haven't been there in a year so the food quality probably went down or they treat business meetings better than regular reservations. The $18 greek salad tasted like it's been sitting all day and not fresh at all. The vegetables were all soggy and not brightly colored. They didn't give enough feta cheese. I could've baked a better chocolate molten cake. The bottom was burnt so it didn't taste good. Our grilled octopus tasted like they just heated it up and was already grilled from earlier in the day. It didn't taste freshly grilled. The only thing that was good was my lobster pasta. My husband's seafood with orzo had no taste. We probably won't be coming back here.
Was amazing in overall
We luckily got a window seat and the ambiance was absolutely beautiful! Loved the view and live music. We really enjoyed our meal, everything was great but the octopus first course was delicious!!
The view of this restaurant is outstanding and the service is good. However, as a seafood restaurant, I expected better preparation of the food. We ordered a whole fish for 2 and found scales and bones on the fillet; also, the stomach membrane is not completely cleaned. My half of the fish stomach was almost removed but I still find the biter taste. So, I had to discard almost a quarter of my portion.
Exceptional food. Amazing view. Wonderful service. I have consistently gotten fabulous food at Molos. Always a fantastic meal. Fresh seafood and fabulous Greek appetizers. Can’t beat the view. A must if you’re near Weehawken.
Amazing service, enviroment and view.
Teorically a greek place but the menu is a mess (fusion?)
Couvert super generic. Sloopy italian bread slices with olives.
Worst salmon ever - Alaska Salmon taste like nothing - dry, no pepper, no salt, no taste. Just horrible.
Lobster just the same - but hard. Tomato souce was pretty generic, looks like canned pomodoro.
Good portion sizes - a lot of food - for a fancy place - susprised.
Greek wines - good prices - italian and french not so much $$$
It’s a very nice
restaurant and great
view of nyc.
Always enjoy taking
Lovely restaurant, amazing view. Had a great time with family for my moms bday. Music is great for eating (jazz) and it’s not too loud, so people can actually have a conversation. The only downside was that they didn’t bring our plates all together, they served the plates as they were ready to go, so we all had to wait for all the plates to be on the table to start eating which was kinda rude.
Well, I had best fried calamari of my life! Everyone at my table had enjoyed it more than what they had in their own plates, so if I could, 3 thumbs up! The atmosphere was great, very vibrant, that’s if you don’t mind a very buzzing room - I don’t mind. That always gives me a great feeling, like I’m at very big family table and every one is interested in everyone’s life and everyone’s talking about what happened for the day...My dearest cousin was celebrating her birthday, and even though I noted it on our reservation, I suppose everyone was too busy to acknowledge it in the beginning, however, our server did apparently find out eventually without us saying anything at the time of dessert, and brought out a plate decorated with a written “Happy Birthday” and a lit candle! She enjoyed it...Although I would love to able to to give an unscathing review, the night’s service had its flaws...because it was so busy, our server barely finished his sentences in order to get to other tables...it was like watching the ballet with quick touch and go movements and the busboys barely knew English...although that may be annoying to some, that part of the overall experience was actually amusing. Overall, it was obvious they were understaffed with fully trained personnel, but the food was very good, with a buzzing atmosphere, and a warming ambience. I would go back.
The food and service was excellent. Great view. Wasnt rushed. Would dine there again
We have been there twice now. The first was a home run, a beautiful dinner with my wife outdoors sharing lobster and drinks. The second time was with in-laws, the only ones seated upstairs, a room with no ambiance, until I complained. We were moved to a nice spot downstairs but it took forever to get our entrees. Service was not particularly attentive. Based on one good experience and one mediocre, I will try one more time
Great food, good ambiance, great service. Our waitress was awesome she made us feel so special.
We all had a great time.
Overall the restaurant was ok. The view was amazing. The only dish that was not good was mine. Ordered Filet mignon and the cut was terrible. I have eaten it before at multiple locations and when I cut into it it’s tender and a good cut will just melt in your mouth. Especially at a place like ruth’s chris or Morton’s. The one I had at Molos was not good at all. Was tough to cut and didn’t taste good. Secondly there’s a dessert that costs 22 dollars and I wish I would’ve been told that it is HUGE and could be shared with the entire table. My bill for two ppl was almost $300 with a tip and I didn’t feel the value matched the price.
The food was good but not amazing. For this price level, we were expecting an outstading experience as had in other places in the same ranges. The service was very poor as the server wasn't listen to our requests and kept on coming back to our table to fill glasses of water we didn't drink!
Great food with an incredible view of the city (even if not seated by the window)
